Weekend reading guaranteed to make you smarter

National Review carries a worthy read by John Fund titled “Still the Alinsky Playbook

It’s a three-pager, chock-full of important information detailing the tactics employed by the Democrat party and its radical operatives. Saul Alinsky is also exposed as the inspiration behind leftist politics and union organizing of the National Education Association.

Fund writes that “just before his death in 1972, he [Alinsky] synthesized the lessons he had learned into a book called “Rules for Radicals,” in which he urged radicals to make common cause with anyone to further their ends. The book was even dedicated, presumably tongue in cheek, to Lucifer, “the very first radical,” who “rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom.”

Barack Obama, who began as an Alinsky acolyte and ACORN ”community organizer” and Hillary Clinton, are among Alinsky’s disciples.

If you read nothing else this weekend, take time for this. Knowledge is power.

One of Alinsky’s greatest accomplishments was to integrate Eastman Kodak, i.e. persuade them to hire more blacks.

When they refused to hire more blacks, presumably because they didn’t need ANY new hires at the time, Alinsky went to work.

Kodak’s prize civic accomplishment was the Eastman Symphony Orchestra in Rochester, NY.

He surreptitiously bought up a couple hundred seats for a symphony performance. Before the performance he put on a dinner for the couple hundred blacks he gave the tickets to.

The dinner had only one course: beans. Lots of beans.

Then the bean-fed ticket holders went to the symphony hall and took their seats, scattered throughout the audience.

Nature took its course and Eastman got the message.

We can learn a lot from Alinsky.

Quite a story. Concealed beneath the “humorous” aspect is the coarseness of the tactics meant to intrude on others who consistently pay the freight. In this case, the reliable season ticket holders who actually supported the symphony and its contribution to a refined society. By that I don’t mean wealth, I refer instead to our culture that is made better by appreciation of art, theatre (stage plays, not movies), music, prose and poetry.

Besides being a radical leftist intent on destroying our constitutional based freedsoms, Alinsky was a disgusting boor.

  2. Ajo Joe says:

Those intent on destroying what has been longstanding and productive are nearly always liberals with a “vision” of anything new being superior. They want to tear down rather than build upon solid foundations. They are the hustlers, who think diversity trumps merit and union protectionism is superior because it keeps the dead wood from having to produce on the job. Our public schools are a perfect example where lackluster teachers don’t teach and children needlessly fail. No amount of benefits are sufficient and God forbid they have to pay more into the significant benefits they receive.

The lesson for us is simple: we can and should take off the gloves and start using Alinskyite tactics, too, simply because they are so effective.

I don’t necessarily mean boorish or coarse ones like he used with Eastman Kodak, although there may be some activists on our side who might like them.

I mean the kind where he got a huge crowd of activists to fill the front lawn and front porch of some politician or city official.

Or the use of “dirty tricks.” For example, during the Cold War, CIA officials in Venezuela used to put out a bogus edition of the local Communist newspaper.

In it they would accuse, say, the Czechs or some other Iron Curtain country of “revisionism.” Local commies would thereupon go to the embassy of that country and break their windows, etc.

As Chairman Mao said, “Let many flowers bloom.”

  4. Realist says:

Seems to me the whole country is under siege and being held hostage to Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals’.

We are so screwed!!! Many thanks to the “status quo” in D.C. for making this all possible.

  5. Saguaro Sam says:

Think back to the first week that the squatter moved into the WH. Upheaval and chaos everyday. Always something being thrown in the mix.

And here is why. Rule #8, from ole Saul: * “Keep the pressure on. Never let up.” Keep trying new things to keep the opposition off balance. As the opposition masters one approach, hit them from the flank with something new. (Attack, attack, attack from all sides, never giving the reeling organization a chance to rest, regroup, recover and re-strategize.)

We must do the same. If you know the rules, you can play the game.

  6. Steve says:

Lucifer and the liberal extremists dedicating to taking down America have a lot in common. Alinksy was right in that regard. What an creepy book dedication.

So a little off topic (but not much…) but on point; THIS from foxnews.com this very morning:

Saguaro Sam-I’ve used th’ term “muslim squatter” when referring to th’ current occupiers of 1600 PA. Ave., Wash. D.C. as well. It fits.

Then I got THIS offa’ foxnews.com:

…while I agree with mr. santorum, at this point in th’ game he just sounds ignorant. We’ve GOT to get together behind th’ obvious candidate, or we’re gonn’a LOSE AGAIN…only this time th’ damage caused by 4 more years of th’ current regieme will be irrevocable, in my ever-so-unhumble opinion…

…again & for th’ record: I think Mr. Romney’s a R.I.N.O., & voting for him IS NOT my 1st choice. But if he’s th’ Republican Nominee, I’ll run out shouting his name in th’ streets! “o-bow-mao-i’m-sorry” (a.k.a.-th’ muslim squatter) needs to be evicted!
