This was printed 63 years ago in the New York Daily News — in the early days of the entitlement state.  Nothing has changed.

Interesting, but no surprise. Nothing ever changes for the entitlement crowd. They firmly believe their enemies are those who took risks and began businesses or got educated and engaged in professions, Becoming successful is suspect among the liberals and they want to hold those who “made it” through their own efforts responsible for caring for them. The Democrat party encourages this, and Obama has turned class envy into an art form. Never mind that he and Michelle live very large.

    • Sgt. Flapjaw says:

Not only do they live large on everbody else’s money, they are totally unaccomplished themselves.

As SeeingRedAZ noted previously, OBOZO and the rest of the lunatic-left d-cRAT socialists are “stuck on stupid.”

  3. VINOAZ says:

They claim to love the poor, must be why their policies are designed to keep people poor, and to produce more people poor, and of course, getting more Democrat voters. They hate the rich unless it is a fellow leftist, the more degenerate, the better. They preach tolerance, but are the most intolerant. They talk of love, but spew hate. They use diversity to incite and separate people based on race, age, gender, sexual orientation, etc. They trash Christian religion and our military while they embrace radical Islam, murders, and deviants. They care not for “liberty”, “E Pluribus Unum”, or In God We Trust”. To them the Constitution is a crummy hand-written out of date document. Liberalism is a moral disorder.

    • State Committeeman says:

Indeed, VINOAZ. There is no way to improve on your cogent comment, so I’ll simply say, “Bravo!”

  4. Vince says:

This thinking of pitting one economic group against another began with Franklin Roosevelt and got its momentum under Lyndon Johnson, both liberal Democrats. Johnson ensured that fathers were unnecessary since the welfare state would take over their responsibilities for them. This ushered in the onset of single mothers with numerous children, none of whom had the same father, being on generational welfare as a way of life. The idea that others who work hard and pay their taxes are responsible for those who do not, is galling to average Americans who earn their own way, but considered their due by those on the receiving end.

  5. Sally Forth says:

Remember this woman when she heard Obama was elected?

“I won’t have to worry about putting gas in my car, I won’t have to worry about paying my mortgage.”

as they say there is nothing new under the sun..
political cartoons of the 1930’s and 40’s make the same points in commenting on the events of the era.
