Jesse Kelly runs strong: NRCC views AZ CD 8 as winnable

National Journal’s Hotline On Call reports that the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) will begin airing TV ads in Arizona’s 8th Congressional District tomorrow. The $150,000 buy is scheduled to run for two weeks beginning April 27.

GOP nominee Jesse Kelly handily won the Republican Special Primary last week in the GOP-leaning district, where he captured nearly 36 percent of the vote in four-way race.

The General Election is June 12, 2012. Early voting begins May 17.

Kelly’s Democrat opponent is former U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords’ ex-aide Ron Barber, 66, a lifelong government bureaucrat, who disingenuously claimed to be “putting politics aside.”   Previously Barber worked for AZ state government since 1976.

Liberal Barber is known for hastily backtracking on his now-hollow stated desire to do nothing more than temporarily complete the remainder of Giffords’ term.

  2. Arizona Conservative Guy says:

This Nat’l GOP move signals a bright sign on the horizon for Jesse Kelly. Glad to see it, He’s the real deal.

    “The $150,000 buy is…”

Don’t get too excited about that – barber got way more money than that from his FIRST fund-raiser hosted by corrupt, crazy pelosi, who really, really wants another puppet from Southern Arizona.

  4. Rambling Rose says:

Jesse Kelly was a toddler when Ron Barber hitched on a feed bag and sidled up to the public trough. He’s never stopped. He’s also never created a job or signed a paycheck. He’s past retirement age now and has more than one pension. He needs to go home and sit on the porch swing and sip a julip. We need fresh faces and ideas to get us out of the mess the Democrats have given us. I wish I lived in the distrct and was able to vote for Kelly. We have friends and family who can and will!!
