National Journal’s Hotline On Call reports that the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) will begin airing TV ads in Arizona’s 8th Congressional District tomorrow. The $150,000 buy is scheduled to run for two weeks beginning April 27.
GOP nominee Jesse Kelly handily won the Republican Special Primary last week in the GOP-leaning district, where he captured nearly 36 percent of the vote in four-way race.
The General Election is June 12, 2012. Early voting begins May 17.
Kelly’s Democrat opponent is former U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords’ ex-aide Ron Barber, 66, a lifelong government bureaucrat, who disingenuously claimed to be “putting politics aside.” Previously Barber worked for AZ state government since 1976.
Liberal Barber is known for hastily backtracking on his now-hollow stated desire to do nothing more than temporarily complete the remainder of Giffords’ term.
