Bob Dylan did exactly what for this country?

The Medal of Freedom is presented to people who have made meritorious contributions to the national interests of the United States, inspired others with their actions; enriching and changing others lives for the better.  Barack Obama’s list is filled with liberals, union organizers and those who will appeal to, and bring out the votes of, specific segments of the country.

Bob Dylan, a man who used music and protests to deride our Vietnam veterans and the war in which they valiantly fought was one of Barack Obama’s choices today for the nation’s top civilian honor. Obama called him a “cultural icon.”  This honor comes within four days of the issuance of this Presidential Proclamation commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War.

Calling Bob Dylan a “hero” the day after Memorial Day is an affront.  Awarding him the nation’s top civilian honor is a disgrace. And if you needed any reminder, these actions reveal Barack Obama as a blatant phony.

Did you read that the Prez slipped away from his press corps yesterday, and for several hours his whereabouts were unknown. Maybe smoking dope w/Dylan?

    • Saguaro Sam says:

Correction: it happened on May 26, 2012, as reported by
George Condon of the National Journal

    • Realist says:

Saguaro Sam; That’s exactly what I tought!

If you were to ask Dylan – I’m sure he would say…
“the answer my friend is blowin in the wind – the answer (went) blowin in the wind”.

      (sorry, I couldn’t help myself)

      • Doc says:

Ron White sez, “…it’s not THAT th’ wind is bleowin’…it’s WHAT th’ wind is bleowin’…” …you get hit by a big ‘ol clouda’ HAWAIIAN STINK BUD…

What do you expect from the likes of BHO? Surprised he didn’t nominate Chris Hayes, Jeremiah Wright, or minister Farrakhan. At least they are open about their hatred of America and our troops. Liberalism is a moral disorder.

  3. Bob Haran says:

If Obama is going to give Bob Dylan a Medal of Freedom why not give one to America’s greatest traitor, Honoi Jane Fonda? I mean if you are
going to spit in the face of Vietnam veterans why not go all the way? Let’s not forget Ho Chi Minh and Mao Zedong since we are honoring those on the other side of the Vietnam War. We should not forget to thank the great draft dodger, President Bill Clinton, and the Manchurian candidate, Senator John McCain, for establishing normal relations with the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, so that our Vietnam veterans can wear shirts made by those who killed our comrades. If It was up to me I give give the Medal of Freedom to the over 58,200 patriots who gave their lives standing with America and fighting the spread on Communism in Indochina.

    Bob Haran,
    Vietnam veteran.

    • Rambling Rose says:

      Mr. Haran:
Thank you for your service. Many of us deeply appreciate what you and your fellow Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines did for us and our great country in the pursuit of liberty.

      • Bob Hara says:

Thank you Rose, my country was at war and I was just paying my dues for my freedom.

In Obama’s world up is down, and down is up. He has discredited the office of the Presidency: The country’s image, destroyed our credibility around the world with his non-citizenship, non-eligibility, and his inability to handle the position he was elected to hold by the corrupt Democratic party’s dead people’s votes! It is an absolute disgrace for the formerly best country in the world…But then, that was the purpose of the globalists. A completely incompetent leader could deliver them the USA. We have a small window of opportunity if we vote the impostor out in November.

I would have thought that Obama would have a better sense of timing if nothing else. Or at least his advisors would. This is a finger in the eye of every true hero and their families. It speaks clearly to what he is all about. I wonder if anyone will ever come forward to tell what Obama really thinks of our military. All of what we see is political posturing and he doesn’t do that very well.

  7. Willey says:

Ahhh, yes, Bob Dylan the hero…. He really helped this country.

  8. Sgt. Preston says:

I find this shameful “honor” extremely offensive. What a slap in the face to our brave military personnel, who gave so much while Bob Dylan mocked them and their efforts. Had it not been for them and their deeds, he wouldn’t have had the freedom to deride them.

  9. embarassed says:

Anybody on this post voted for him? I held my nose as instructed.

As great a travesty as the Dylan award is, it is superseded by the one given to Huerta.
