Remembering our many blessings this Independence Day

….and honoring those 56 brave men who had the vision and strength of character to challenge authority and affix their signatures to the Declaration of Independence.

Before signing the Declaration of Independence, our Founders included this memorable line:

“And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.”

We Americans have been blessed by God and by the presence of these wonderful Founders at a critical time in our history. These great visionary men who put everything on the line to give us liberty. We can’t afford to muff it. Most would acknowledge we’re on the brink. Commit to doing everything you can to elect Mitt Romney. We will not survive another term of Barack Hussein Obama.

Matt, Wil Cardon is our only hope this election. I agree and will vote Wil Cardon in the August primary.

As I ponder the recent defection of John Roberts to the dark side, and then read where certain Republican congressmen are getting weak-kneed about repealing obamacare, I have to wonder how much longer our republic will exist. The America of today is a mere shadow of the America our Founders gave us.

I believe there are still far more liberty lovers among us than there are liberals. And yet you’d never know it as taxes, regulations and government interference in all areas of our lives continue to grow.

How did we lose the war?

    • Doc says:

Apparently Mitt’s Campaign is also getting weak-kneed as they now agree w/o-bow-ma0-i’m sorry on the penalty vs. tax.

      GOD BLESS US ALL ANYWAY!

      • CD9 says:

No Doc, that was not Mitt Romney, that was an underling. Mitt told an interviewer TODAY, Obozacare is a TAX,.

      • Doc says:

THAT’S GREAT NEWS! But I did state that his “campaign” said that…not him. Apologies for the confusion…the underling needs to be FIRED…

      • CD9 says:

Yes agree fire him and fast. But we all know he wont.

It is well to remember on this day that lacking the consent of the governed, our government quite simply is not sustainable. We must speak out, become involved, vote and encourage others to do the same.

“Hope and Change” were shallow words bought into by the naive. We need an educated voter base which understands what the foundation of our government is about and will actively work to preserve it. It is imperative that parents each their children what this country is about. As a former teacher, I can assure you they are not getting it in the government run schools in which textbooks are filled with politically correctness and historical revisionism.

American students are taught to be embarrassed by our history. Required readings have become skewed toward a relentless focus on our country’s darkest moments, from slavery to McCarthyism. Many history books devote more space to Harriet Tubman than to Abraham Lincoln; more to My Lai than to the American Revolution; more to the internment of Japanese Americans than to the liberation of Europe in World War II.

We are at a crossroad and must act now. There will be no do-overs.

Thank you, Seeing Red AZ Team, for using the correct name of this premier American Holiday. Too many of us, me included over the years, have clipped it to “The Fourth”. With our many freedoms already restricted, and others hanging by a thread, it’s good to get back to remembering how other’s sacrifices gave us our Independence Day. May this generation rise to the challenge half as well!

It is terribly sad that todays kids have no idea of the courage and sacrifices made for our country by not only the Founding Fathers but subsequent generations of Americans who left everything, including family, to build this nation. They would be better served to be taught these lessons than what is passing for history in today’s classes.

People like Chris Rock who are tweeting “Happy white peoples independence day”, show an appalling lack of knowledge concerning history and absolutely no thankfulness for living in this country. Better that he should be dropped into Iran and see how far his expletive-filled routine and his liberal mantra would get him. For all the hate that comes from the left, it is amazing that they fail to recognize the irony that their very right to spew their hatred was provided to them and protected for them by our fighting forces. To denigrate Independence Day is to forget the sacrifices of each person committed to the cause of this country, be it a white Revolutionary soldier freezing at Valley Forge to a black Tuskegee pilot flying during World War II to an Hispanic marine fighting in Afghanistan.

Removing the influence of people of this mindset from the national stage and returning our country to true freedom must be the goal of this election. Maintaining Nobama in power is to undo everything that our armed forces achieved over the years. We need new patriots and old patriots to do this and I pray we will be victorious come November, which will be another Independence Day.

I saw that also, Mom on Drudge, I am sick of their stupidity. Oh of course he is a comedian so we can file that under funny, NO I CAN NOT. As I come back to SeeingRedAz, getting to be my favority blog, I am watching the Revolutionary War on the History Channel. So much of what I have forgotten about History when in school is being brought back in a wonderful story. Without bias. But you can tell how old I am because I was actually taught that in school.

CD9-While it’s not my place to “welcome you aboard”, I can tell you that THIS PLACE HERE -SRA & Participants- have provided me an education that I could’ve gotten NO WHERE ELSE!

      • Seeing Red AZ says:

Thanks, Doc. But remember, it’s a two-way street. We try to get the conservative message out. You and the other readers/commenters keep this site interesting. We couldn’t do it alone.

And CD 9, we join Doc in welcoming you aboard!!

This is a beautiful rendition of a song we need running through our heads today.
