JP races: Embarrassing candidates

Bennie Arce, running for Justice of the Peace in the Downtown Precinct,  is obviously well named. This is what the daily has to say about him.

And then there’s Clancy Jayne, running for reelection as Justice of the Peace in Desert Ridge Justice Court. Jayne has recently received his fourth sanction by the Commission on Judicial Conduct for violating the Code of Judicial Conduct. Linda Bentley of the Sonoran News provides the complete report.

Clancy Jayne received this coverage when he ran in 2008. The comparison piece of Jayne and his opponent at the time indicated both candidates “have spent countless hours in courtrooms, one as a lawyer, Jayne as a defendant.”

Not much has changed.

  1. Villanova says:

Clancy Jayne would be a joke if the effects of having this stupid, but swaggering egomaniac on the bench were not so serious. Vote for Bill Ponath and get a responsible JP on the bench in Desert Ridge.

  2. Maggie says:

Four reprimands? That’s about three too many. Clancy Jayne should have been removed from this JP position by now.

  3. Seen It All says:

Before the term “kook” became voguish by the left, Jayne was calling those he disliked “whackos.” It was one of the few words he could spell. He’s nearly illiterate.

  4. Anthem Al says:

Bennie Arse (what a great name!) is a convict and Clancy Jayne is a dope. You’ve got a vote. Use it!!
