Rep. Kwasman leads opposition to ObamaCare in AZ

The Arizona Capitol Times posts an excellent commentary “Medicaid expansion would be a ‘nightmare’ for Arizona.”

State Rep. Adam Kwasman, (R-LD11) is a freshman legislator who not only comprehends the seriousness of the situation, but explains the massive problem in easily understandable terms.

It’s refreshing to see a legislator follow through on a campaign promise, despite pressure from a governor of his own party. This is a guy to watch.

Good for Kwasman! Gov. Brewer did quite a U-turn on this issue, didn’t she? Very disappointing. She caved to Obama after the (at the time) impressive finger wagging display.

This should be sent to Brewer! And anyone else supporting her decision. Bernard

It’s a certainty she’s aware of it, Bernard. She served in both the AZ House and Senate years ago, and from what I’ve heard, still keeps a sharp eye on the events in both chambers.

Off topic, but speaking of Republicans and Obama’s policies, we have this:

“(Reuters) – Former Republican presidential candidate Jon Huntsman voiced support for gay marriage on Thursday, reversing his position and urging the Republican Party to be more supportive of gays and lesbians who want to marry.”

    …and this…

“GOP House panel chairman will consider gun bills”

“WASHINGTON (AP) — The Republican chairman of the House Judiciary Committee said Friday that he’s interested in writing legislation this year improving background checks for gun buyers and cracking down on illegal firearms sales.”

“In an interview, Rep. Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., provided little detail about his plans. But he said the federal background check system should be fixed to make sure more people with serious mental illnesses don’t get firearms.”

Apparently, Republican is now just a different spelling of “Democrat”.

Apparently Gov. Brewer is willing to split the baby….ably turns down the state insurance exchanges and then bites at the
medicaid apple. Schizophrenic? The legislature can stop this nightmare; keep the phones busy on Monday. Kudos to Rep. Kwasman!

Sounds good but no details. You have to cut the cost of supply as in doctor and hospital fees and the cost of drugs. Doctors are the ones coming out like $$$ in this and no one wants to take them on. The insurance companies get the blame but they are just bill payers.

The real rub will come when big companies say that they will no longer provide health care coverage but just give some $$ to employees to buy Obama Care.

Where the governors went wrong was looking for loopholes or exceptions instead of developing their own catastrophic coverage which could be provided to all their citizens at a low price instead of the golden gate coverage contained in Obama Care. There is a huge opportunity for governor’s but bumbling Jan will not get it done.

I would propose an immediate 10% cut in all military expenditures including salaries. All of us can get by on 9 out of 10…..the govt. can as well…it is nothing but would make a huge dent in the problem.”

There will be some changes in gun regulations at some point in 2013 and the Republicans who only tow the NRA line of “no” will lose. Wouldn’t you rather outsmart your opponent than trying unsuccessfully in throwing up a wall, that is crumbling down around you.”

What I worry that the Secure Our Borders bunch really wants is to spend Billions more in hiring and fences which do nothing but increase the size of Govt.”

Why would the Conservatives at SRAZ listen to a Liberal like you, LOL?
