Arizona Conservative Coalition: Gov. Brewer a RINO

Brewer’s legacy: Republican In Name Only

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer, a self-described conservative, has performed as a RINO according to the Arizona Conservative Coalition (ACC) Legislator Evaluation. The evaluation includes the last regular session and the special session in which the budget bills were passed. Although the governor is not a legislator, she has a critical role in the legislative process by signing or vetoing bills.

Brewer’s score is a dismal 37.9 on a scale of 0-100 which puts her below almost all of the legislators and clearly into the RINO category.

The ACC reports Brewer’s score is based solely on her decisions to sign or veto bills that are included in the evaluation. In some respects, they write, this low score is more generous than Brewer deserves when considering how she manipulated the budget process by calling a special session to bypass Republican legislative leadership

I’ve been waiting for this evaluation. The folks at ACC have done their job admirably, indisputably basing the RINO score on Brewer’s actions and not anyone’s opinion. Job well done! (ACC’s, not Brewer’s!)

The onetime conservative has become a full time disappointment. She has been taken over by the McBody Snatchers who became her advisors from Day One of her move from the Secretary of State’s office to that of the governor. Her dependence on Team McCain has been her ruination.

  3. State Delegate says:

I remember being overjoyed at the news that Napolitano was leaving AZ and that Republican Jan Brewer would take over the reins of state government. Looking back over her sorry term in office, I’m not so sure it could have been any worse under liberal Napolitano. I would have expected this double dealing from her. As a left leaning Republican, Brewer is far worse than a disappointment. She’s been an impediment to legislative conservatives and a stunning catastrophe to our state..

  4. Army Of One says:

Yep. The euphoria was short lived. Anyone who carries the fingerprints of McCain (and now Jeff McFlake) is tainted. Conservatives can’t trust them. Period.

  5. eubykdisop says:

Let us not forget that Robert Graham appointed Gretchen Conger Martinez as Chief of Staff of the Arizona Republican Party. Martinez served as a Legislative Intern to Gov. Brewer and, in her capacity as Director of Government Relations for the Arizona Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Martinez actively supported and promoted Brewer’s expansion of Medicaid.

Too bad we don’t have a rating for Robert Graham!

    • Hagar says:

Graham masterminded the greatest con job to get elected party chairman since Jeff “I’ll only serve three terms” Flake first went to Congress.

I have been confused by the huge amount of conservatives who have been saying “I thought she was a conservative”, no way has she been. People had better start watching what these fakes do instead of taking the lazy way and believing their words just because they sound good. Brewer has not got what it takes to do a job like Governor, so she has to be owned by someone.
Brewer is so much like Obama they even look alike.

    • Fed Up says:

I remember her in the state legislature at the onset of her career. My recollection was that she was conservative. The other factor is her pro-life stance. In every other way today, Brewer is a big spending leftist who has bonded with the worst elements of the GOP. ACC is absolutely correct in branding her a RINO.
