NBC/WSJ Poll: Obama suffering crisis of confidence

October 31, 2013

Barack Obama’s approval rating has plunged to an “all-time low,” according to a new NBC/Wall Street Journal poll released Wednesday evening. The WSJ headline screams, More Voters Turn on Obama —President’s Approval Hits New Low in Poll as Discontent Extends Beyond GOP.”

Obama is suffering from a series of missteps, but most importantly, an American public that is increasingly losing confidence in his leadership. Among a sampling of 800 registered voters, Obama’s approval rating of 47% is actually topped by his disapproval rating of 48%.

Amid the bungled healthcare rollout and cancellation of millions of insurance policies of previously insured Americans, Obama’s leadership struggles took root with the IRS Benghazi investigations, followed by the embarrassing Edward Snowden NSA leaks, and Obama’s indecision on whether to attack Syria.  The last straw for many Americans was the exposure of his repeated and blatant lies about keeping your health care plan and your doctor, (montage video) when it turns out just the opposite is true.

The latest poll shows that 70% believe the country is on the wrong track, with Congress more unpopular than previously reported, as 74% blame Congress for “contributing to problems,” while only 17% think Congress “actually works to solve them.”  Even more stunning is the fact that among those polled, 63% reported “they would prefer to see a new member of Congress represent them”. Typically those who express overall dissatisfaction with Congress  tend to be satisfied with their own representation.  The new findings indicate that is no longer the case.

McCain: Amnesty push to come after primaries

October 30, 2013

McCain_chortle

McCain frets, “House should just pass something.”

John McCain’s longtime support of amnesty has traveled a road mired with twists and turns. There was the blatant trickery evidenced by his border stroll with Sheriff Paul Babeu during the 2010 senate campaign as he veered right, promising to “complete the danged fence.” That stance was only useful to get him back in Washington to hop back on the amnesty train within days.

In July, in a rare moment of candor at an immigration forum with AFL-CIO unionists McCain admitted his vote to spend $46 billion on new border security measures and double the size of the Border Patrol was simply a subterfuge intended to secure Republican votes. “I’ll give you a little straight talk,” the forked-tongued one said. “We don’t need 20,000 additional border patrol agents,” as he called a path to citizenship “a fundamental element” of his latest amnesty con. Singling out border security parts as an example, he said, “The rest of it could be adjusted.”

McCain’s protégé Jeff Flake worked the same short-term politically expedient reversal as a senate candidate.

Now Breitbart’s Tony Lee reports that John McCain has given the clearest indication that proponents of amnesty may make their strongest push to get legislation passed next year after House Republicans make it through their primaries and are safely ensconced — and unanswerable to constituents — for another term.

“I think conventional wisdom is that time is not on our side,” McCain recently told reporters after an event in Chicago. “But there are a number of members of Congress who have primaries and when those primaries are done, they may be more inclined to address the issue of comprehensive immigration reform.”

“It will not gain us a single Republican voter,” McCain admitted. “But what it will do for the Republican Party is it will allow us to compete for the Hispanic vote. It will give us a playing field where we can argue for lower taxes, less regulation, smaller government, strong military, etcetera. But if we don’t pass it, we will not compete for the Hispanic vote.”

Apparently McCain has missed these incisive columns:

Phyllis Schlafly’s “Amnesty Is Republican Party Suicide.”

Ann Coulter’s “Hispanicked GOP Elite: They’ll Respect Us In The Morning.

Despite the Congressional Budget Office’s findings that the Senate’s amnesty bill would lower the wages of working class Americans, House Republicans are reportedly working on “piecemeal” legislation to eventually get to conference with the Senate — following McCain’s advice that the House should just “pass something.”  Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) is now partnering with Jeff Flake’s congressional amnesty cohort Luis Gutierrez on legislation intending to legalize all of the country’s illegal aliens.

Laura Ingraham is the bear in Matt Salmon’s stream

October 29, 2013

In this scathing piece, Arizona Congressman Matt Salmon (AZ CD-5) is exposed as an amnesty waffler who did little other than waver, evade and reverse himself  in his discussion with syndicated talk show host Laura Ingraham. He is described as “revealing his naiveté to both the political realities facing the House, and the market realities which confront struggling American workers.”

Read “Laura grills Salmon on his support for going to conference on immigration reform.”

It’s a stretch to believe that Salmon is naive regarding congressional machinations. Before being elected to represent the East Valley district in 2012, he previously served as U.S. Representative from 1995 to 2001 He knows the drill.

Listen as Ingraham opens with a brief June discussion with Marco Rubio and then moves to this interview (audio) with Matt Salmon. Ingraham begins by warning Salmon he is in a “cliché free zone” — meaning no “system is broken,” “people need to come out of the shadows,” “we can’t deport 12 million people.”

Despite the still too high American unemployment, Salmon continues to push for H-1B guest workers, “I’d like to get something done,” he tells Ingraham. When questioned about whether it would be reckless to flood the labor market with additional workers given the already exorbitant rate of unemployment, Salmon was flippant, saying. “There are so many people in our country who would rather sit on public assistance than work.” Ingraham pointedly asked Salmon whether he was calling  American people lazy. Salmon dodged, trying to reconfigure the comment. But Ingraham continued to press him on the issue, highlighting the flaws in his argument and explaining how such assertions, especially when expressed by politicians who are supposed to be advocates of the people, serve only to threaten the well-being of hardworking Americans.

Currently American citizens with college degrees in fields requiring specific technological skills are seeking work in record numbers. More educated young adults than ever before are still living with their parents.  Why would Matt Salmon think it necessary to import foreign competition?

Amnesty lies rev up as illegal supporters converge on DC

October 28, 2013

Get ready for the latest amnesty-pushing scam. This one, scheduled to begin on Capitol Hill today, has long and suspect tentacles and features heavy-weight, big money players. Billed as a national “fly-in“ of what it deceptively calls “conservatives,” its aim is to strong-arm House Republicans to cave on amnesty through intense lobbying and assurances of campaign infu$ion$ in advance of the upcoming elections.

Breitbart’s Matthew Boyle does a fine job of exposing the George Soros-funded National Immigration Forum (NIF) led by dedicated and radical amnesty proponent, Ali Noorani. The Berkeley educated, American-born son of Pakistani immigrants, has been at the center of every major legislative and policy debate related to immigration since 1982.  Noorani claims “the broad collection coming to Washington represents ‘the conservative base of the Republican Party.'”

Don’t believe it.

This latest shamnesty scheme is planned to coincide with Barack Obama’s renewed push against House conservatives. NIF is reportedly working with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg’s group FWD.US, and New York mayor Michael Bloomberg’s Partnership for a New American Economy. These leftists, like Soros, are openly contemptuous of the rule of law.

Investigative reporter Matthew Vadum writing for FrontPage magazine provides an exceptional overview of what we are facing in “George Soros’s Illegal Alien Guerrilla Activists.” Vadum’s entire fact-filled report is a must read, though he succinctly sums up the ultimate end game with these words:

Starry-eyed Republicans think that backing amnesty will somehow win their party Latino votes but they never seem to factor in the exodus of conservative Republican voters their support of the legislation will all but guarantee. An added benefit, from the Left’s perspective, is the proposed mass amnesty would destroy once and for all the Republican Party. Democrats, on the other hand, are gunning for the legislation because it assures them a permanent leftist majority.’

This past Friday Seeing Red AZ wrote Tech industry honchos intensify push for amnesty, exposing the mind-boggling connections behind FWD.US.

George Soros is also tightly connected to Mark Zuckerberg’s FWD.US push for amnesty. The close circle appears familial. Bloomberg reports that Zuckerberg hired Soros’ former chief financial strategist Stanley Druckenmiller — who worked in that capacity for extreme leftist billionaire Soros  for over a decade. And where Soros lurks, Grover Norquist is close by. Walid Shoebat reveals what he refers to as Norquist’s “treason.”

The U.S. House of Representatives will be voting on amnesty. We have already been betrayed by the Senate. Call your Republican Representatives. Their contact information is here. We pay their salaries and they are called “Representatives” because they are supposed to represent us, not foreign invaders in our country illegally.

Lots to read today. We urge you to make the time.  Knowledge is power.

Rubio doubletalks amnesty as 2016 hopes evaporate

October 27, 2013

McGang of 8 caper tanking 2016 aspirations; now talks “piecemeal approach”

Sen. Marco Rubio appears to be a political casualty of following John McCain, lemming-like, off the amnesty cliff as a member of the so-called Gang of 8.  Just months ago, the brash, young Florida Republican was surging in the polls.  Now he is barely sucking oxygen.  Earlier this month, the conservative Family Research Council’s Values Voter Summit presidential straw poll pummeled Rubio, throwing him a mere five percent of the vote. In the Oct. 22, WMUR Granite State Poll, Rubio tied for seventh place with just 4 percent of GOP voters saying they would support him.

In the following video Rubio talks about “solving immigration” saying, “but I don’t think we should not do anything because we can not do everything….I continue to believe that a series of sequential individual bills is the best way, the ideal way, to reform to our immigration system,” he says.

Americans have a right to expect those entering our sovereign nation to do so respectfully and legally. That is the ideal way to support our generous immigration policies, Mr. Rubio.  There is no need for “reform.”

As an example, compare the United States to other developed nations* on the single issue of birthright citizenship. Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, France, India, Malta, Great Britain and Portugal have all repealed their Birthright Citizenship laws — the automatic granting of citizenship to children of tourists or illegal aliens born within a nation’s borders or territories.

Michelle O’s college pal given no-bid ACA contract

October 26, 2013

It pays to have friends in high places

The Daily Caller reports that Toni Townes-Whitley, a former Princeton classmate of Michelle Obama is a top executive at the company that was gifted with the no-bid contract to build what has become the failed Obamacare/Affordable Care Act (ACA) website.

Townes-Whitley is senior vice president at CGI Federal, which constructed the failed $678 million Obamacare enrollment website at Healthcare.gov. CGI Federal is the U.S. arm of a Canadian company.

Coincidences abound. Townes-Whitley and her Princeton classmate Michelle Robinson Obama are also both members of the Association of Black Princeton Alumni.

In its Oct. 13, edition, the Washington Examiner’s Watchdog Accountability section reported on the odd fact that federal officials considered only the single firm to design the Obamacare health insurance exchange website that has performed abysmally since its Oct. 1 debut.

Rather than open the contracting process to a competitive public solicitation with multiple bidders, officials in the Department of Health and Human Services’ Centers for Medicare and Medicaid accepted a sole bidder, CGI Federal, the U.S. subsidiary of a Canadian company with an “uneven” record of IT pricing and contract performance

George Schindler, president of CGI Group, CGI Federal’s parent company, became an Obama 2012 campaign donor after his company gained the Obamacare website contract.

It would be tempting to say this was not a bad return on a $1000 investment, but in this case the donation was actually more of an after-the-fact gratuity.

HHS’s Sebelius to U.S. taxpayers: I don’t work for you

October 25, 2013

Watch and listen to Her Arrogance, Kathleen Sebelius:

A group of 33 Congressional Republicans signed onto this letter to President Obama, requesting that he call for the resignation of Health and Human Services secretary Kathleen Sebelius. Her ineptness has made signing up for the required health coverage mandated by the federal implementation of Obamacare impossible for millions of Americans. The White House has released few numbers, saying that  there have been 20 million visits to the website and half a million applications submitted. Time magazine’s conclusions are likely more accurate.

To date the best estimate of the setup costs of the inadequately tested and flaw-plagued system is nearly $500 million.

“The scope of the problem is so great that, were this a private company or military command, the CEO or general would have been fired,” the members of congress wrote. “We are, therefore, calling on you to hold Secretary Sebelius accountable for the fiasco that is HealthCare.gov and ask for her resignation.”

Tech industry honchos intensify push for amnesty

October 25, 2013

Big government, big business, open-borders alliance undercuts Americans

NumbersUSA runs a report titled “Comprehensive Amnesty Threat,” that is a must read if you care about adherence to the Rule of Law and the continuation of the great country our Founders envisioned for us.

The so-called Tech Giants of Silicon Valley have another vision, and one they intend to implement through the pressure of big bucks and use of bogus language — such as “comprehensive immigration reform,” “secure the border,” “broken immigration system” and “Dreamers” which has morphed into a dreamy word from the acronym D.R.E.A.M. (Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors).

This opinion piece “Obama’s DREAM Act is a constitutional nightmare,” by former U.S. Rep. Bob Barr (R-GA) fills in the gaps.  Barr says the so-called DREAM Act “provides significant and continuing benefits to persons residing in the United States unlawfully.” There is no means of verification when illegals claim they were brought here as babes in arms rather than actually crossing into the U.S. as adults, making it an open invitation for fraud — since legislation would make it illegal for any information in an amnesty application to be used to initiate removal proceedings. The burden of proof would fall on law enforcement agencies, forcing them to prove that any information they used to find, detain and try to remove an illegal alien was already in their files before an application was received or was not derived from the application. If an illegal lies about his age to qualify for the program, and the lie is never detected, he gets amnesty. And if the lie is discovered, it matters not, since law enforcement is forbidden from using that information  against the Dreamy new democrat voter.

Of course, none of that matters to Mark Bloomberg and FWD.US, a group set up by Silicon Valley titans including Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, Reed Hastings of Netflix, Andrew Mason of Groupon, and Melissa Mayer of Yahoo, who are funding a conservative “fly-in” of conservatives to meet with Republican U.S. Representatives and lobby them to support amnesty.  Silicon Valley’s efforts to pass this brazen shamnesty plan aren’t ending there.

Next month, FWD.US will be hosting a “DREAMer Hackathon” to showcase the tech skills of illegal aliens and to put their plight back in the spotlight.  At this event, Dreamers will complete digital tasks and build online tools that help pro-amnesty advocates.

FWD.US Executive Director Todd Schulte said: “We think it’s a great opportunity to highlight the potential of ‘Dreamers’ and why we need comprehensive immigration reform. By having these incredible kids coming together with other programmers, we’re not only going to highlight exactly why our nation needs to fix our broken immigration system, we’re going to help create better advocacy to make that happen.”

The lengthy list of mega wealthy founders/contributors/supporters of FWD.US also includes Steve Ballmer, CEO of Microsoft, Tim Armstrong, CEO and Chairman of AOL, Inc., Barry Diller, Chairman and Senior Executive of IAC, Bill Gates, Chairman of Microsoft and Co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, gives an indication of the level of pre$$ure the members of congress will receive.

Why don’t these industry leaders want to hire American citizens when our unemployment rates remain at unacceptable levels?

Educrat unions oppose keeping criminals out of public schools

October 24, 2013

Who do you think might oppose bi-partisan federal legislation that would prevent public schools across the country from hiring convicted rapists and other sex offenders, murderers, kidnappers and pornographers?

Shockingly, the answer is, the leaders of our nation’s major teachers unions, the National Education Association and the American Federation of Teachers — who strenuously object to barring such predators from working around school children. These unionists claim the measure might “jeopardize workers’ protections under union contracts.”

In the U.S. House, 212 Republicans and 190 Democrats passed the legislation by a simple voice vote — including the entire Arizona delegation — excluding Raul Grijalva, (D-CD3), who did not vote.

In a an appalling breach of their responsibility to protect the children in their care curing the school day, teachers unions are more concerned with the contractual “protections” afforded the worst criminal element. The steady stream of dues is also a consideration. Additionally, the NEA is reportedly concerned that minorities, who make up a disproportionately high percentage of criminals, would be “excessively impacted” by the bill.

Over the years, Seeing Red AZ has written about the rampant and alarming problem in Arizona schools involving sexual predator teachers, which we call the “Endless Parade.”  This post contains links to a sampling of previous reports involving sexually exploitive teachers, criminally abusing their positions of trust as they prey on students.

In numerous cases involving teachers or administrators, union officials have negotiated separation agreements with employers, allowing offenders to quietly leave their positions with a letter of recommendation — enabling them to secure jobs in unsuspecting districts — as well as taking away a hefty payout as they leave.

This is an example of the far left indoctrination teachers get from the NEA — one of the nation’s largest unions. Listen closely as the list of the group’s accomplishments are ticked off. You won’t hear a single word about students or standards. But the national membership did vote to increase their own dues in order to provide greater funding to Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign.

For an excellent in-depth report on this outrageous union action intended to protect criminals over our children, read Unions oppose bipartisan effort to keep criminals out of public schools, by Victor Skinner writing for EAG News.

Guv candidate Christine Jones: DUI convictions, jail time, a “mistake”

October 23, 2013

Fork

It’s being reported that 2014 gubernatorial candidate Christine Jones, 45, is guilty of even more than being a registered Republican who funds the campaigns of Democrats and RINOs. Her claims of being a conservative were already short-circuited on that news.

Now we see that Christine Jones was twice convicted of DUI. TPM reports that records show she was pulled over in 2004. She was also twice convicted of DUI in 2006. She calls those incidents that landed her an overnight bunk in jail and cost her in fines — which she slickly conceals as “dues” — “regrettable mistakes.”

Was the “mistake” her ongoing habit of drinking to excess and getting behind the wheel or getting caught?

She was also ticketed on red-light-running charges in 2008 and 2009.  Jones’ repeated risky behavior shows a bizarre intent on causing a major accident — or worse.

On top of all of the above, the woman who wants to lead Arizona as governor actually thinks illegal aliens cross the Rio Grande to enter our state.

No wonder she changed her name in 2009.

Put a fork in Christine Jones.  She’s done.
