Thanksgiving with the family — Obama style

A bounce back to reality.  Liberal politicos don’t take the day off.

This video “It’s time to have the talk,” illustrates a sure-fire way to bring the glow of holiday warmth to the family celebration. Treating liberals like the robots they are, the Obama site instructs them to plan when, where, and how they should talk to their family about health insurance.

The Obamabots are  directed to create a list “to make sure your family members have what they need to shop on the new health insurance marketplace,” and provides “tips on answering common questions.”

Not to be outdone, the DNC, also concerned about your family interaction over the holidays, provides talking points for your Republican uncle. Filled with liberal distortions and absurdities, it purports to help people deal with “lively discussions with Republican relatives about politics” that occur during the holiday season. Warning: don’t read after eating. This is a sure gag inducer.

The dems can’t even recognize a time for families to gather and celebrate holidays without interjecting Obamacare into the mix. They must really be worried about BHO’s “signature” issue that is failing miserably.

Happy Thanksgiving to the rest of us!!

After reading Washington’s proclamation of prayer and thanksgiving on this special American holiday; it seems almost impossible that we could have sunk so low in these past 5 years.
God WILL help us – only if we sincerely ask for his guidance.
Keep the faith and this nightmare dubbed obamanation will soon be over. Happy Thanksgiving Day America !

    • MacBeth says:

Your observation is right on target, realist. I have also wondered how a great nation such as ours could have fallen for the line of BS Obama has glibly spewed. I’ve come to the conclusion that Americans have been failed by a far-left public education system that is dedicated to dumbing down our populace. Younger voters overwhelmingly supported Obama. They are unaware of our history or the perils of Marxism and mindlessly voted for the “cool guy.”

Since those supporting Liberal positions in this blog are treated better than those supporting Conservative positions, I’ll make the Liberal case from now on!

So what? A lot of people don’t take the day off! Police, firemen, nurses, doctors and air traffic controllers are just a few of the Americans who don’t take the day off on Thanksgiving!

SRAZ wrote: “…the Obama site instructs them to plan when, where, and how they should talk to their family about health insurance.”

And the problem with that is what? Are you saying that helping people to make health care decisions by suggesting a structured approach is some sort of left wing plot?

First of all, those “Obamabots” are your fellow citizens and not some form of android. Secondly, what is so awful about being organized and creating a list to make sure that you have what you need? Is being organized somehow evil? “Tips on answering questions”? Oh yeah, that definitely sounds like a threat to the free world!

Gee, writing something about how to deal with Republican relatives is just AWFUL! Just about as awful as writing something about how to deal with liberal relatives!

“The Six Steps To Dealing With Liberal Friends And Family”

    “by John Hawkins”

“Here’s how you deal with friends, family members, and random people you’re meeting on the street who are liberal.”

It’s great to blind side your Republican Uncle with lies that quote numbers. It would be nice to give him a heads-up

before hand so that he can do a little research before the conversation. Of course that would defeat the DNC’s tactic. Given the opportunity, here’s what your uncle could use to respond.

“Fact” #1: Since President Obama took office, the deficit as a percentage of GDP has been cut by more than 50%.

Fact: Fox News’ Eric Bolling shows the actual numbers. In Obama’s first year as President, he more than tripled the annual

Budget Deficit to $1.4 Trillion. In 2013, it will about half that number – half of his own massive creation! This year’s

deficit will still be nearly double the final Budget Deficit under President George W. Bush.
That’s the DEFICIT – meaning the annual Budget Deficit. The DEBT – as in NATIONAL DEBT – has gone from $10.6 Trillion the

day Barack Obama took office, to nearly $17 Trillion today.

“Fact” #2: Since President Obama took office, the private sector has seen job growth for 44 consecutive months , with

businesses adding a total of 7.8 million jobs during this time.

Fact: This calculation eliminates all months in which jobs were lost. In other words, it only counts months in which job

creation was positive and eliminates the negative months. Net new jobs for the Obama administration is 194,000.

Economists agree that it takes about 200,000 or more new jobs each month to grow the economy. Average job creation for

    Obama: 4,311.

“Fact #3: President Obama has cut taxes repeatedly for middle class families. In the first four years of his

administration, a typical family making $50,000 a year received $3,600 in tax cuts.

Fact: President Obama has already raised taxes substantially twice—first as part of Obamacare and then as part of the

“fiscal cliff” deal earlier this year. Together, those increases raised taxes by more than $1.3 trillion over 10 years.

Including the payroll tax increase that was also part of the fiscal cliff deal, taxes have risen by almost $3 trillion

during President Obama’s tenure. Corporations and other business don’t pay taxes they collect them, ie they are passed on

to the consumer in higher prices, the employee in lower wages, ie, the individual. Individual income is the ultimate well

from which tax revenues are pumped, regardless of the name on the actual check delivered to government.

“Fact #4: President Obama has cut taxes for small businesses 18 times since taking office, allowing them to grow and create jobs.

Fact: Many are renewals of tax breaks that already existed. Others are expansions of previous breaks. And every time a measure gets renewed, the Obama administration is counting it as yet another tax cut. For details on all of them see:

Fact #1: Who cares what Fox News’ Eric Bolling says, LOL! Try this!

“The Best Kept Secret In American Politics-Federal Budget Deficits Are Actually Shrinking!”

“According to the latest CBO report,”

“Compared to the size of the economy, the deficit in 2013 is much lower than in 2009, when Obama took office. The deficit will be 5.3 percent of gross domestic product this year, nearly half the 10.1 percent of GDP in 2009.”

“The improvement in the deficit as measured against GDP is the direct result of the deficit falling to $845 billion for fiscal year 2013—a $300 billion improvement over the previous year. And the positive trend is projected to continue though the next fiscal year where the annual budgetary deficit will fall again to $430 billion.”

THAT is according to Forbes and the CBO report!

    • eubykdisop says:

Fact #2: What you are failing to report is that under the George W. Bush administration there was a net LOSS of jobs!

“In First 45 Months In Office, Obama Created 750,000 Private Sector Jobs, Bush Lost More Than One Million”

      “November 2, 2012”

“Today’s report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics showed that the economy added 171,000 jobs last month, beating analysts’ expectations. The private sector added 184,000 jobs (offset by some public sector losses), making this the 32nd consecutive month that the private sector has grown.”

“Overall, even accounting for the horrific month for jobs that was January 2009, the private sector has added 759,000 jobs overall under Obama. At this same point in the George W. Bush administration — October 2004 — the private sector had lost more than 1 million jobs.”

“During the entirety of the Bush administration, the private sector ended up losing nearly 650,000 jobs.”

      Fact #3:

“A Bogus Tax Attack Against Obama”

      “May 17, 2012”

“The truth here is that Obama has lowered taxes for all workers through a 2 percentage point reduction in the Social Security payroll tax that started in 2011 and is scheduled to continue through the end of 2012. The cut is equal to $1,000 this year for a worker making $50,000 a year — or as much as $2,202 to any worker earning at least the maximum taxable level of wages or salary ($110,100 for 2012).”

“Obama had previously signed a tax cut that benefited nearly all working families and was in effect from 2009 through 2010. The “Making Work Pay” tax credit was part of the stimulus bill he signed shortly after taking office.”

“That credit was worth a maximum of $400 per person, or $800 for couples during those years. It phased out at higher income levels, and so its benefit went entirely to individuals making less than $95,000 a year, or couples making less than $190,000. The White House figures it went to “95 percent of working families.” And even allowing for those who are retired or unemployed, it benefited more than 75 percent of all individuals and families, working or not, according to the nonpartisan Tax Policy Center.”

      Fact #4:

“Revisiting President Obama’s Small-Business Tax Cut Claims”

“By: Robb Mandelbaum, The New York Times”

      “3 Oct 2012”

“From the 2009 stimulus, the Affordable Care Act, and other legislation:”

      • A new small-business health care tax credit.

      • A tax credit for hiring unemployed workers in 2010.

      • Temporary extension of bonus depreciation tax incentives to support new investment.

      • 75 percent exclusion of small-business capital gains, for stock acquired in 2009 and 2010.

      • Temporary expansion of limits on small-business expensing.

      • Five-year carryback of net operating losses, available through fall 2009.

      • Reduction of the built-in gains holding period for small businesses to seven years, from 10, in 2009 and 2010.

      • Temporary small-business estimated tax payment relief. Tax provisions in the 2010 Small Business Jobs Act (both The Agenda and the I.R.S. have published summaries):

      • 100 percent exclusion of small-business capital gains, for stock acquired in late 2010 and 2011.

      • A further increase to the expensing limit to $500,000 for 2011 (in 2012, the limit falls to $139,000).

      • A further extension of 50 percent bonus depreciation through 2010.

      • A new deduction for health care expenses for the self-employed in 2010.

      • Tax relief and simplification for cellphone deductions.

      • An increase in the deduction for entrepreneurs’ start-up expenses in 2010.

      • A five-year carry-back of general business credits in 2010.

      • Lower penalties for failing to report listed (that is, abusive) tax shelters.

“Since then, the president has added two more tax cuts to the list, according to a Small Business Administration spokeswoman, who supplied an update:”

      • Increasing bonus depreciation to 100 percent for 2011 (from the Tax Relief, Unemployment Insurance Reauthorization and Job Creation Act of 2010, the compromise law that keeps the Bush income tax cuts in place through this year; for 2012, bonus depreciation falls to 50 percent and then expires).

      • Tax credits for hiring veterans, ranging from $2,400 to $9,600 (from the Veterans Opportunity to Work to Hire Heroes Act of 2011).
