Chris Matthews: The thrill (up his leg) is gone

Chris Matthews, the far-left MSNBC host best known for disclosing a tingle up his leg brought on by simply hearing Barack Obama speak, has done a stunning about-face.

On Friday’s edition of “Morning Joe,” Matthews named Obama the biggest “political loser” of 2013. Matthews previously designated Obama the “perfect American.”

Now he says, 2013 has been a “terrible year for the president. I mean, it’s terrible.” he emphasized.

Host Joe Scarborough agreed with the “terrible year” assessment, adding there was “so much hope” following his second inauguration.

“There’s another piece of it which you’re subtly getting at,” Matthews continued. “It’s not just that it’s a bad year in terms of the (Obamacare) rollout. There’s an erosion in interest. It feels like a very long presidency now. It feels like the seventh or eighth year of a presidency. It doesn’t feel like the fifth.”

“There wasn’t that rejuvenation that comes with re-election. There wasn’t any, certainly he was never going to get a honeymoon from the other side, but there was no sense of ‘Wow!’ And I think that’s hurt him a lot,” lamented Matthews.

Watch as Chris Mathews adnits he has fallen out of love with Barack Obama:

When dedicated liberals are finally denouncing Obama, it gives me hope for the upcoming midterm congressional elections.

    • Arizona Conservative Guy says:

I agree, Matt. But what we need to win are conservative candidates, not flagrant liars like AZ’s US Senators, who campaign to the right to win elections and then vote with the democrats on vital issues such as gifting amnesty to 25+ million illegals and giving their stamp of approval on confirmation of Obama’s appointees. What’s the difference between Flake and McCain and those “bipartisan” (democrat) buddies they partner with? McCain talks out of both sides of his mouth on Obama, despite having frequent visits with him at the White House. I’m a lifelong conservative and I won’t vote for either of these double-crossing slugs again.

This is how Ronald Reagan foresaw and summarized the Obama presidency over 40 years ago. Pay attention to the outstanding “compare and contrasts.”

    • Army Of One says:

Reagan got it right with that line, “The trouble with our liberal friends is not that they are ignorant…’s just that they know so much that isn’t so.”
I sure miss that upstanding man!!!

Quite frankly who cares what Chris Mathews thinks about Obama’s terrible year. My gosh, it’s still about Obama! What about the millions who lost their insurance and the millions more that will lose when the employer mandate kicks in (since the O extended that for a year to cover his butt), what about all those whose hours have been cut, all those on welfare now, all those who will lose jobs when amnesty come into play?? But oh my gosh, lets be so upset because Obama had a bad year. We’ve had 5 bad years! Well, I say hooray Obama had a bad year – that’s good new for us!!!!!!

  4. LEO IN TSN says:

Nope, I just don’t buy it. I’ve never known the leftists to backtrack on anything. Chris Matthews doesn’t have an honest, sincere or patriotic cell in his ugly being. Even the hairs he loses fall to the left.

They know they have Obamao cemented in for 3 more long miserable destructive years, because our Congress will never impeach him. They won’t even challenge him on his reign by fiat & regulation. It’s now time for them to start setting the stage for Billary 2016. They will do that by portraying her as a fresh, experienced change from hope & change.

That also gives US 3 years to take back the Republican Party and force the nomination of a conservative, patriotic Reaganesque ticket. If we can’t do that, the RINO elite will trot out another McAmnesty or McRomney and seal our doom. Remember, McAmnesty thought Obamao would make a good president, and McRomney couldn’t find anything to campaign on except unemployment. They would concede to Billary before they look to a conservative patriot.

Yup, it’s either fight our party elite or it’s Billary 2016. Take your pick.

    God bless America.

It’s NOT just mcStain & mcFlake, in my opinion. EVERY AZ. Congressional rep. has voted more or less moderately of late. Remember, RE-ELECT ABSO-FREEKIN-LUTELY NO ONE!!
