Roger Allen Sharp, 26, and David Lee Murray, 36, have been taken into custody in the New Year’s Eve shooting of a Phoenix police officer and a sheriff’s posse member. Four other suspects involved in the armed robbery leading to the shooting remain at large.
The lawmen, both unidentified, remain in critical condition.
According to reports, Sharp was booked on suspicion of two counts each of attempt to commit murder, armed robbery, burglary and prohibited possession of a firearm and one count each of unlawful flight and resisting arrest. Murray was arrested on two counts of suspicion of armed robbery.
The 34-year-old police officer has been with the Phoenix Police Department for seven years. The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office posse member, 63, was shot assisting the officer.
