GOP poised to snatch defeat from jaws of victory

“We don’t have documents, but we have dignity and we deserve respect.”

This video showing the contemptible disruption of Texas Congressman Pete Olson’s Townhall meeting with constituents last fall exemplifies the tactics used by illegals who claim they have rights and are deserving of respect. Throughout the boorish commotion they issued threats while shutting down Republican Congressman Olson‘s ability to speak.

Although this occurred several months ago, it is instructive in the context of the current push for amnesty to legalize our country’s illegal invaders by the U.S. House GOP.

These demanding and intimidating illegals are the so-called DREAMers that U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan, Speaker John Boehner and the Republican establishment are prepared to honor with the gift of U.S. citizenshipalong with their family members. Though the number 11 million has been continually used the past decade, there are likely upward of 30 million who will be recipients of such reckless and destructive generosity.

An invitation to fraud, the DREAM Act is far more expansive than presented. Anyone up to the age of 35 who claims they were brought here before age 16 can apply for amnesty. Since illegal aliens are, as the media likes to call them — “undocumented” — there is no way of verifying their claims. They could have arrived as adults last week. In fact, illegal aliens do not need to attend college or join the military to receive legal status, they simply need to declare that they intend to do so within the next six years. In order to receive legal status, they don’t need to show they are of “good moral character” and can actually be convicted criminals. But such facts don’t impede their abilities to compete with Americans for limited jobs, and attend public colleges with in-state tuition, thanks to our so-called representatives who are eager to provide them legal status, with  citizenship the next bit of thepiecemealscheme.

Conservative columnist Ann Coulter sums up the amnesty issue and its link to the demise of the Republican Party in this profound sentence found in her latest first-rate, fact-filled commentaryGOP crafts plan to wreck the country, lose voters.”  Coulter accurately states, “It’s not their position on amnesty that [generational] immigrants don’t like; it’s Republicans’ support for small government, gun rights, patriotism, the Constitution and capitalism.”

Given Barack Obama’s abysmal approval ratings, the idea of Republicans conspiring to increase the numbers of Democrats in advance of the midterm elections is suicidal. GOP U.S. Representatives are snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Heritage has a simplified call alert to oppose congressional action leading to amnesty. Simply plug in your zip code.  Do it for your family.  Do it for America. Do it now. There won’t be a second chance.

Done…Dr. Gosar voted to keep coward boehner in as “B.S.-er of th’ house”, so I highly doubt my call will mean doodley-squat to my “representative”…but it’s done.

    • State Delegate says:

      Doc,
I understand your frustration. We are all being sold down the river by our reps. Their double talk on the issue of illegal immigration is reprehensible. They know “we the people” need to be fed enough pap to keep voting for them, but most importantly they need to hang with their increasing liberal DC GOP caucus and the business interests that feed their campaign coffers. If you’ve been a donor, we need to stop fooling ourselves. The $50 or $100 that seem like a fine contribution to us is really nothing more than chump change to the congressmen who are dependent on the business interest lobbyists, angling for cheap imported labor, to underwrite their expensive reelection campaigns.

I hate to say it, but we need to stop wasting our money and time on any of them. It’s clear they don’t care about us or the future of this country. The care only about retaining their base of power in DC. As a lifelong Republican and an elected precinct committeeman for over 20 years, I have sent my last dollar, hammered my last sign, collected my last petition signature to put any of them on the ballot. If this GOP sponsored amnesty goes through, I’m reregistering as an Independent. They can all kiss my ass.

I most WHOLE-HEARTEDLY CONCUR, State Delegate! Yesterday, I found out that YAVGOP ISN’T censuring mcTraitor…I’ll finish out my term & I’m out! This is B.S.!

  2. Army Of One says:

I just called each and every one of our ready-to-cave on amnesty not-so-Fab Four. I called them all because my taxes pay all of their salaries, The ALL work for us. When I spoke with the staffers at Franks, Schweikert, Gosar and Salmon’s offices I ended my call by asking if they were receiving many calls like mine. Each of them were honest enough to say they were being swamped. Let’s keep the calls coming! The Republicans are on a “retreat” right now where amnesty is the topic. They no longer use the word “amnesty” since it’s out of fashion as they try to disguise it and shove it down our throats. They will do this bit by bit, expanding guest workers and issuing more temporary visas, while our nation’s unemployment numbers remain high and over 50% of Americans are receiving some type of benefits. I know retirement age so-called conservatives who are on “disability.” They are past employment age so they are not disabled workers, and receive social security PLUS retirement while giving lip service to being conservatives. Too many look at this as free money entitlements. Everyone seems to think sidling up to the government tit is their right. The concepts of self reliance and responsibility fly out the window when those putting their hands out get them filled by those of us who are working our tails off and paying ever higher taxes to keep others on the dole. My Arizona born and raised kids are working after school, saving to pay their own college, yet illegals have ASU’s Michael Crow advocating for in-state tuition for them. No one advocates for my children or yours. The AZ Board of Regents keeps raising tuition and fees.

  3. ZOO says:

Those of us in CD 9 with Kirsten Sinema as our congressional representative should not be backing down or giving up because she is a Democrat. She is our representative, and her political affiliation should not shield her from our outrage. I have called her local and national offices, and just sent her a lengthy written appeal on her congressional contact form. Futile or not, our voices and opinions must be heard.

    • Vince says:

All true, ZOO, though Sinema and the other Dems won’t care. What I find even more reprehesible is Republicans working to increase the numbers of the Democrat party, while turning the screws on American workers.

  4. Attila The Hunny says:

Illegals? Amnesty? Watch this news report to really get your blood boiling.
Heroin Kingpin Busted in Florida an Illegal Alien…on FOOD STAMPS

  5. Attila The Hunny says:

I found more! Look what else we’re paying for! The goal of the aid workers who call leeches like this “clients,” is to increase federal aid to Florida by $ ONE BILLION $ a year!!!!

  6. PC No Longer says:

The Republican congressional hypocrites have now emerged from their rat hole (retreat) and have been shaking around their set of phony amnesty “principles.” They can go it without me. I’m done. Fini. Stepping back from PC duties and will never run again. When I think of the money, sweat and energy I donated to these lying connivers, my stomach turns. Now they’re putting illegals ahead of us, providing them benefits other criminals can only dream of, and ensuring even more competition for scarce jobs. Paul McGosar, Trent McFranks, Matt McSalmon and David McSchweikert should be ashamed of themselves, but they’d rather play fast and loose with us while they huddle with and push the agenda of the Democrats, Chambers of Commerce and the big bucks lobbyists who will keep them in office. I won’t lift a finger again. They might as well open the prison cell doors and give all of the criminals a ‘Get Out of Jail Free’ pass. Apparently no one learned any lessons from 1986. Amnesty under Reagan simply increased the numbers of illegals slithering into our country.

    • Capt. Marvel says:

“Principals” my ass! How can the unprincipled release principles?

PS I called all of their DC offices today. And for good measure, I even called McCain. Wouldn’t you know? His “mailbox was full.” I’ll bet it’s not filled with accolades, if it’s actually filled at all. I wouldn’t be surprised to learn it was just shut off. These elites don’t want to hear from us.

  7. goodyearconservative says:

I really wish Republicans would focus more on tax and welfare reform than immigration reform. If we pass amnesty right now without reforming our tax code and our welfare program the illegals aliens will bankrupt our country,
