Huppenthal’s tearful apology at news conference

“My actions need to bring honor…….”

John Huppenthal, Arizona Superintendent of Public Instruction, broke down in tears as he apologized Wednesday for what he called “hurtful” comments posted anonymously on various blogs —- including Seeing Red AZ. Huppenthal, who has called parents who oppose the federally mandated Common Core education schemebarbarians,” was moved to tears as he repeated his earlier statement that his words didn’t reflect what he felt in his heart about either minorities or those who receive public assistance. This current situation is not the first time Huppenthal’s lack of judgment has attracted negative attention. Back in 2008, Chandler police recommended city prosecutors charge then-state Sen. Huppenthal (R Dist.20) with two misdemeanor counts of theft and cutting down a campaign sign critical of him. His actions included pulling out a sign and his confrontation with a 78-year-old Democrat activist on Election Day. She alleged Huppenthal grappled with her and snatched signs out of her hands.  The East Valley Tribune carried the entire story.

John Huppenthal is crying because his identity was revealed as the insulting commenter, NOT for making the comments he now says didn’t “reflect what he felt in his heart.” They did reflect what was in his heart when he thought no one knew it was him. Sunlight is a reliable disinfectant.

    • Joseph Bickley, Sr. says:

      Exactly, Tucson GOP.
Hupp was awash in tears FOR HIMSELF. He was not crying at the horrible deeds he’d done, he was not remorseful for his dread actions, he was feeling sorry for OneAndOnly. He got caught and stands to lose much from it, now the depths of the tragedy are manifesting and he’s feeling intense sorrow, not for those he slung mud at but for his career.
      Sayonara, baby.

What’s even worse is that he did much of this posting on state time. He’s a Blogging addict. I read that due to “insomnia” he engaged in this practice late at night and into the early morning hours.

  3. East Valley PC says:

The term “crocodile tears” comes immediately to mind. Huppenthal is saddened to see his decades long political career coming to an abrupt end.

I’m supporting Diane Douglas, who unlike the limp-wristed Huppenthal, is standing up and fighting Obama’s Common Core educrat scam.

Hey…it was worth a try. Turning on the waterworks seems to have worked for another John….Boehner. He cries at will and is still the Speaker of the US House. Girly men rule!

Th’ 2 are cut from th’ same chunk of potato-sack.
ol’ hupp can take his rusty faucets down th’ road!

  5. Saguaro Sam says:

Did he say that he is immediately going to check himself into rehab ? Did he have a bad childhood?
Because that seems to be the magic words that earn these creeps a free pass.

    • Orion says:

You’re more on target than you realize, Sam,. On his tour of district meetings talking to the elected precinct committeemen, Huppenthal has been giving the spiel about his difficult childhood and coming from a family of 11 (if my memory serves correctly) kids. He obviously needs a rest and so do we…from him. But these pile-on calls for him to step down disgust me. The haughty are out in force. I’m backing Diane Douglas and hope she wins. But I want her to get in office because she beat the incumbent as the votes were tallied.

  6. Ellsworth says:

I read that Huppenthal, using the nom de plume Falcon 9, derided scientists as all being Democrats. He came to that conclusion saying they have all been on the public dole all of their lives. What an odd indictment coming from him. It sounds like he was describing himself. He’s been slopping at the public trough since he was in his 20’s.

  7. Nicolasw R. Vay says:

I wonder who gave him the slices of onions, given his political bent the slices MUST have come from a RED onion. The supportiong onion should be indicted as a co-conspirator.
