GI files lawsuit against ousted AZ Ed Sup’t Huppenthal

Teacher opposed to Common Core gets legal assistance

The Phoenix-based Goldwater Institute has filed a lawsuit on behalf of Brad McQueen, a fifth grade teacher in Tucson’s Tanque Verde School District, and an outspoken opponent of Common Core. The civil suit McQueen v. Huppenthal was filed on McQueen’s behalf under the free-speech provisions of the Arizona Constitution and the First Amendment.

The lawsuit names John Huppenthal in his official capacity as Arizona Superintendent of Public Instruction.

Bureaucrats at the Arizona Department of Education oppose any criticism of their plans for implementation of the federally mandated Common Core scheme —- deceptively re-christened  Arizona College and Career Ready Standards in an attempt to dupe anxious parents. After he spoke out against the federal program, McQueen was the subject of a deluge of ostracism, intimidation, and a vicious email campaign. He was removed from the Department of Education’s standardized-testing committees.

The lawsuit asks that the state retaliation against him cease and he be reinstated to non-Common Core committees.

McQueen is the author of “The Cult of Common Core: Obama’s Final Solution for Your Child’s Mind and Our Country’s Exceptionalism.”  Read excerpts here by clicking the “look inside” arrow, provided courtesy of Amazon.

The Arizona Daily Independent carries the foul email exchanges in this June 30, 2014 article by Brad McQueen. The article follows the stream of emails between Angela Escobar, Program Project Specialist at the AZ Dept of Education, and other department employees during the workday. Escobar used her office computer to email associates, referring to Brad McQueen as “What a f*cktard!”

With the recent election of conservative Diane Douglas taking over the helm of this rudderless ship, sanity will return to the Arizona Department of Education.  It can’t happen soon enough.

Syndicated columnist Michelle Malkin, an early Diane Douglas endorser, has devoted the past two years to exposing the ‘Big Government and Big Business’ forces that have colluded on this boondoggle and have been partners on expanding the federal role in education —- which she calls ‘Rotten to the Core.’ Her numerous articles can be seen here.

I haven’t been keen on the Libertarian (not conservative or Republican) Goldwater Institute since it came out against Sheriff Joe Arpaio. In this case, however, I support their efforts on behalf of the Tucson teacher exposing the nightmare of Common Core.

The educrat community and the liberals at the newspaper are already trying to diminish Diane Douglas The attempted recall before she has even been sworn into the office to which she was duly elected, reminds me of the savagery conservative Gov. Evan Mecham endured at the hands of the same left wing malcontent ideologues.

…as well as Wisconsin Gov. Walker…

    • Anthem Al says:

Glad you brought up Gov. Evan Mecham. He was targeted from the day the ballots were counted, exactly like Diane Douglas is now. Even newcomers to the state should learn the type of deceptive tactics the losers and the loser newspaper uses from that miscarriage of justice. There was a recall, an impeachment and a criminal trial all going on against the governor. He war cleared of the trumped up charges in criminal trial, but the impeachment went forward in the state senate. That impeachment, in my opinion, was the blackest day in Arizona history, at least in my lifetime, and I’m no kid! For our own survival, conservatives must do all we can to protect Diane Douglas. Beating an Hispanic educrat makes her worthy of take down in the eyes of the left.

Brad McQueen is a patriot warrior, who knows that Common Core is not education. It is enslavement. The McDuceys, McBrnoviches, McReagans, the boyish Mzzz McMcMcSally, even our own AZ4 McBoehner lapdogs, will be the Judas goats, leading ever more of our kids and grandkids into the slave barn with Common Core brainwashing, while the low-info, football-watching sheeple parents sit in oblivion. Mcducey has already thrown down the gauntlet with his creation of his Common Core sub-committee.

Here is the real Common Core:
A mother of three who came to America because of its reputation as a “shining city on a hill” is pleading with her state lawmakers to flee Common Core any way they can, calling it nothing less than the “communist core” she endured while growing up in China.

“Common Core, in my eyes, is the same as the communist core I once saw in China,” Lily Tang Williams told the Colorado state Board of Education recently.

“I grew up under Mao’s regime, and we had the communist-dominated education – nationalized testing, nationalized curriculum and nationalized indoctrination.”

That is Common Core, no matter what they call it! Wake up your neighbors! Make your voices heard, to McDucey and to all of our state legislators. Many of them see the danger. Support Diane Douglas and Brad McQueen and our education guardians in the Legislature. There is no place left to go.

    God bless America.
