What’s the point of electing Republicans when the GOP majority caves?

It’s a rare occasion when we direct our readers straight to another blog, but this Breitbart ExclusiveHouse GOP Leaders Trick 216 House Republicans Into Accidentally Supporting Obama’s Executive Amnesty,” is deserving of such a distinction.

Seeing Red AZ takes exception with the notion they were tricked.  For them to vote on the revised H.R. 5759 without reading it doesn’t qualify as trickery. There are two choices, collusion or ignorance. Take your pick.

From Breitbart: ‘In a lengthy interview on Friday afternoon, Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) exposed how House Speaker John Boehner, Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Majority Whip Steve Scalise strengthened President Barack Obama’s executive amnesty with procedural trickery former Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber would envy—and they did it all in the name of pushing a bill that they told Republicans would block Obama’s executive amnesty.

What’s more is that a series of interviews and recent developments indicate that Boehner’s gambit here is placing several of his top lieutenants—including at least two committee chairmen—at political risk of serious primary challenges just a few months after newly elected Rep. Dave Brat (R-VA) beat now former House Majority Leader Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA) in a Republican primary.

Gohmert said most members had no idea what they were actually voting for when 219 members—216 of which were Republicans—approved a measure, H.R. 5759, first put forward by Rep. Ted Yoho (R-FL), but subsequently dramatically altered by leadership officials in the Rules Committee process.”

They didn’t cave, they did exactly what most of them wanted to do, as they believe the same as George & Jeb do, so don’t believe there was any arm twisting, just the same old sticking to those who continue to support Incumbents; Einsteins definition of insanity paraphrased, vote for the incumbents over & over expecting a different result makes the voters insane, with that in mind most of America is insane and therefore should lose the right to vote.
This may offend some, however I’ve come to realize over the years the Truth may offend you, however when you accept the Truth it will finally Free you as it has me. God Bless You All; Clair Van Steewnyk

this is what lesser of two evils voting brings us.

we will never get better candidates if we do not refuse to vote for a bad candidate just because they have an (R) by their name. we must be willing to lose elections to get they type of people elected that the country needs, not the candidates the lobbyist want (buy).

but the lesser of two evils, party uber alles pushers will continue to push as the party and the nation are destroyed.

  2. Greg Mercer, MSN says:

It might just be they have no idea how to govern…

    • Clair Van Steenwyk says:

This is Governing for them, they’re at the top we’re called on every two yrs. to vote for Incumbents so they can stay there, so if you really want to fix it stop voting for them or anyone they support.

  3. State Delegate says:

Seem to me the AZ 4 are taking Pelosi’s advice. She said “we have to pass the bill so you can see what’s in it.”

    • azgary says:

“Boehner to Conservatives: you have to pass the omnibus to find out what’s in it”
The new omnibus spending bill is about to be rammed through the House is the same way that Obamacare was passed. A massive bill is going to be presented and the members, of both parties, are going to be given a minimal amount of time to read the bill.
House conservatives are griping that Speaker Rep. John Boehner (R-OH)N/AN/A (R-Ohio) is putting the squeeze on them by rushing through a $1 trillion spending bill in Congress’s last week in session.
Appropriators are expected to roll out the legislation early next week, giving critics scant time to figure out what’s inside before they cast their votes by the end of the week. The government would shut down on Dec. 12 without a new funding bill.

“Here we are doing the appropriations bill the last couple days” before a government shutdown, conservative Rep. Tim Huelskamp (R-Kansas) said in an interview this week. “That’s not to squeeze Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV)11%11%. That’s to squeeze us.”
Boehner critics say there’s no reason the Speaker couldn’t have brought the spending package to the floor this past week, giving the House more time to consider it.

But doing so would also give more time for the right to build a case against it.

“They don’t want you to read it, that’s why! You think they want you to analyze all the mischievous items in there?” Rep. Walter Jones (R-N.C.) told The Hill.

Asked if the timing of the plan was aimed at jamming the Senate or House conservatives, Jones replied: “I think its aimed at screwing over the American people. You can quote me on that.”

I am beyond disgusted. And to think how conservatives cheered the election results……

Even with GOP majorities in both the House and Senate, American citizens are still getting screwed.

    • Clair Van Steenwyk says:

That’s the Party Plan, so get use to it or don’t vote for Incumbents in ’16 Elections or those they support

  5. Teller Of Truth says:

Normalizing our invaders is nothing short of insanity. Illegal immigration gives us a country of those who disregarded and disrespected our sovereignty and our laws in order to break into our homeland. While taking taxpayer paid benefits and education for their children, they join anti-American groups like La Raza and MEChA and demand “ethnic studies” (instilling even more anti-Americanism) for their children in public schools at taxpayer’s expense. Although it has become politically incorrect to say so, criminality is high among Hispanics. They compete for jobs and take them at lower wages, and have ruined the construction trades for American citizens. And like others before them, when they end up voting, it will be as democrats. No wonder Obama and the left want to give them status. Their own country stinks and they want to being the USA down to that level.

What I find appalling are the deceptive Republicans who say one thing to get elected and then act against us with their votes and try to act as theough they were the ones who were tricked. It’s the rest of us who are the victims of their lies. It’s past time to stop sending the same group of RINOs back to Washington to vote with dems.

    • Clair Van Steenwyk says:

I do believe that all of us are in total agreement on this issue, if you vote for Incumbents for the most part you’ll end up with worse results than you have, because they believe they’re allowed to stick it to us just because as Gruber stated Americans are Stupid. They do believe this as well, they’re voting records prove it, hope we change it in 16 but won’t hold my breath I’ve just about given up on those who claim to be conservatives and now so many claim to stand of the Constitution while doing this and the same Stupid Americans vote for them, guess I have some comfort in knowing I’m not one of them. God Bless You All & Have a Great Christmas; Van

  6. Army Of One says:

I want to hear from “representatives” Paul Gosar, trent Franks, Matt Salmon, and David Schweikert. How did they vote and who did they represent? If they voted for his atrocity will they have the balls to tell us they were tricked? Will they admit to voting on something they didn’t read? When is enough…enough?

  7. Clair Van Steenwyk says:

Gosar voted Present, the other 3 Voted for it. This is what you get from incumbents, so sit back and get used to it, campaigns are to get re elected and then move forward with the Policies of those who fund the campaigns and the Party, Gruber I do believe was right Americans are Stupid and getting worse, Einstein’s Paraphrased definition of Insanity; Vote for Incumbents over & over expecting a different result from them, certainly am glad I don’t fit this definition. God Bless You; Van

    • CD 8 PC says:

You’re right, Van. This vote is treachery. Is anyone here willing to support the liars and / or fools Schweikert, Salmon or Franks again? If they voted in favor of this bill with full knowledge of it’s intent, they have betrayed American citizens. If they voted “yea” without full knowledge of what it included, they are lazy fools. I’d like to hear Gosar’s reason for voting “present.”

Who will step up to challenge them? Incumbents are well funded by the DC lobbyists whose favor they curry and whose water they dutifully carry. Having run against Trent Franks, you know that all too well. The search for someone with constitutionally-based, conservative credentials should begin today.

Check out the shameful votes here:

      • Clair Van Steenwyk says:

Gosar’s voting present is an easy one he didn’t want to vote for it, however by voting no it might hurt the bill and his standing with GOP Leadership and AZ colleagues, they did what they’ve always wanted to do. I wish everyone would remember G. W. Bush was Pres. GOP controlled both houses, and even after 9/11 when they passed legislation like the Unconstitutional Patriot the border remained open, they could of put something in the Patriot Act and the Dems would of had to vote for it, the GOP wants Legal Status as much as the Dems just need a way to sell to voters so they don’t seem to be the useless group they all are, only way to fix is to remove them all in 16 and once again don’t be the voters have Political Brains to see this and maybe that’s why Gruber and obviously our Congressmen as well believe we’re Stupid. God Bless You; Van

      • Borderhawk says:

Gosar voted present like Steve King and Bachmann. Gosar is better on immigration than the AZ3. I dont trust any of them.

  8. Clair Van Steenwyk says:

After the Vote on the 1.1 Trillion Budget which funds this til end of next yr. rather than allowing a Vote to limit funding and vote in Feb, they were told know and the reason Bachmann and King gave is Boehner had made a deal with Obama, well now was this the same deal made to pass HR 5759 to put the language in needed to first enable the amnesty to begin with and then those who voted for it could vote No here for the cover they needed on part 2, already knowing how the 2nd part of the package would go. I’m really sorry if you voted for HR 5759 you’re all guilty of voting for Amnesty no matter what type of ribbon you put on this one, you’re just a group of Self Serving Politicians who sought cover knowing Boehner would get the necessary GOP & Dem votes to pass the final bill and took a little heat on part 1 to look like heroes on part 2, you are Cowards everyone of you and hope the Voters will begin to see this soon. God Bless You All; Van

    • Borderhawk says:

Gosar and Salmon were one of only 16 Republicans to try to derail Boehner’s bill. I dont trust them but they have re-election in 2016 or a Senate run. Gosar especially is listening to much of what Steve King says. Everything after his stupid oped has been okay.

Erickson has been good lately , calling out Gowdy for being a RINO.

      • Clair Van Steenwyk says:

Here’s the language that Franks, Schweikert, Salmon voted for it and Gosar voted Present, which took no character and realize they voted to put this in the bill and it had been debated from the floor so can’t say you didn’t know it was there take a look; • for humanitarian purposes where the aliens are at imminent risk of serious bodily harm or death. / Note; This is the part of the bill that will allow Obama to give Amnesty / Legal Status as this if you recall is what he used for the children at our borders just recently and has also used on previous occasions, has to make you question just what was the GOP thinking about when they passed this bill / HR 5759, I don’t care how they voted on the Omnibus bill funding the gov. this is the problem all the smoke screens put up to mislead the voters so they believe these Reps are serving US and another question is why weren’t they screaming for all of US to call before the vote if they also don’t believe in Amnesty. Now as for Gosar well he put a work bill in the NDAA which then gives him an excuse for supporting it as well, we need new Reps. in DC in 2016 all of them on both sides, they know how the system is set up to mislead us and make them look good when needed.
