NAACP: NY police slayings show “need for sensible gun control”

Liberal-speak: Criminals kill, law-abiding citizens lose their Second Amendment rights

Exhibiting a disconnect from reality, the NAACP Legal Defense Fund and the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights Under Law issued this statement saying the execution of NYPD officers Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos demonstrates “the need for sensible gun control.”

Trying to remember their unwieldy name(s) has obviously had an effect on the judgment of the groups’ members.

The NAACPLDF and LCCRUL’s message cautioned against suggesting “a causal link between these killings and the recent protests and activism focused on the serious issue of police violence against unarmed African Americans.”  The groups suggest that pushing such a “causal link” may escalate “an already tense state through rumor and conjecture.”

In other words, they implore Americans to ignore reality.

The vacuous statement continues: “These two killings and the life-threatening injury, like so many other unfortunate incidences of gun violence, provide a stark example of the need for sensible gun control measures, and the need to thoughtfully address untreated mental illness.”

Aha!  Planning and inflicting carnage that the murder himself referred to as “revenge,’ is a mental health issue. As we noted yesterday, prior to Ismaaiyl Abdulah Brinsley spineless execution of NYPD officers Liu, 32, and Ramos, 40, the killer posted on Instagram “I’m Putting Wings on Pigs Today. They Take 1 Of Ours…Let’s Take 2 of Theirs #ShootThePolice #RIPErivGardner #RIPMikeBrown This May Be My Final Post.”  The image of a silver handgun accompanied the macabre message.

From the tone of its statement, it appears the NAACP must have missed the “protests” that quickly escalated into fiery riots and looting recently taking place in Ferguson, Missouri.

Based in Baltimore, the NAACP blatantly ignores the astronomical and ongoing black-on-black homicide rate in that city. These are the most recent 100 homicides courtesy of The Baltimore Sun. A navigation aid is in the upper right corner.

The NAACP is also silent regarding the fact that the assassination of the officers took place in a state with exceedingly strict gun control laws —- among the most restrictive in the nation —- tightened further by the state legislature in 2013. We all know such laws are worthless against the criminal intent of a determined and cold-blooded gunman. The so-called Safe Act, signed into law by Democrat Gov. Andrew Cuomo has not stopped a single gun crime, but restricts the Constitutional rights of law-abiding citizens.  That, we need to remember, is the ultimate goal of the left.

Hang on tight, my fellow Americans. We’re in for a very rough ride. When the President of the United States has no respect for the people of this nation and takes up with and for groups that want to further erode our liberties, it signals that our enemies are from within in a manner we have never before experienced in our nation’s history, regardless of what our ethnicity happens to be.

Need further evidence of the hand in glove collusion between Obama and the NAACP?

Barack Obama is quoted on the group’s website saying “The NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund is simply the best civil rights law firm in American history.”

Interesting. I would have bet Batck Obama wouldn’t have singled out just one, placing the New Black Panthers (whose intimidating election day billy club tactics were defended by Eric Holder), Obama’s own beloved ACORN and the leftist ACLU on the same list with the NAACP.

My barometer on race relations was established several years ago when I walked through the now dead (once vibrant) shopping mall known as Metro Center on a weekday. My observation was multifaceted. First it was apparent “relations’ between the races were pretty good, judging by the number of white girls pushing strollers with mixed raced babies. Sometimes the baggy-pants, backward baseball capped daddys were along on the outing, which led me to conclude no one in the family unit was working. Further, most carried no bags, meaning they weren’t shopping, just strolling in the air conditioned mall that was probably a lot more comfortable than home. I hadn’t been there in several years before running that work associated errand since the anchor stores all took a hike, and I haven’t been back. The trip did give me a sense of what’s going on that I don’t often see since I work each day.

54% of blacks now support gun rights and believe they need a gun so they can shoot back! Up from 27%. Pew poll.

    • Kent says:

Shoot back? Were the assassinated cops in New York and Florida shooting at their murderers? What world are you living in? It’s often been the case that the criminals are wearing body armor and better armed with automatic weaponry, than police responders. It sounds as though you advocate for unrestrained chaos and lawlessness. Move to Syria.

Both of the murdered NYC police officers were racial minorities — Asian and Hispanic. Will their “communities” (what an offensive term!!) set New York on fire and riot and loot? I seriously doubt it. We have seen nothing to evidence they will burn down Brooklyn. Will Obama call Ismaaiyl Abdulah Brinsley his son as he did with Trayvon Martin? Not publicly.

  6. Saguaro Sam says:

Be advised: It is being reported on that the cop killer was using an “app” on his i-phone which allowed him to track the location of police officers.

  7. Justin says:

This disgusting chant was egged on by Al Sharpton, his buddy Barack Obama and AG Eric Holder. “What do we want? Dead Cops! When do we want it ? Now!” The only solution is for police tostop patroling and responding to calls in these areas.

“We’re in for a very rough ride” -a terrible understatement that is looming before US with dastardly consequences.

Obamao is community-organizing all of the radical Marxist hate-America groups throughout the country and around the globe. He is getting ready to pounce.

Many look at the recent North Korean internet one-day joust as a humorous response, a finger in the eye, a flippant wave of a hi-tech middle finger to that pudgy little tyrant. But it should be yet another flagrant warning for US.

A complicit or traitorous Congress has given obamao total control of worldwide communications, including internet, phone and cell-phone. His willingness to use that authority has been demonstrated even before the flipping of the switch in North Korea.

Remember how obamao lowered the Dome of Silence over Clark County, Nevada in order to silence the reporters on the ground at the Cliven Bundy ranch. He made sure the reporters and the freedom fighters at the ranch could not communicate any updates to the American people. The only info allowed out was that generated by BLM operatives and filtered through the White Mosque. This massacre of the 1st Amendment was hardly a blip on the screen of consciousness, even for the so-called conservative media, and has now been totally forgotten. But the Power still rests with obamao and his czars.

I fervently hope there are still some American patriots in the federal gov’t and even Congress. We sure didn’t see any in the BLM or NPS. Come to think of it, we didn’t see any in the Clark County Sheriff’s Office either, supposedly the people’s police. Wake up, it’s not a pretty picture. Say, have you heard about his Project 21/Century 21 Police Task Force?

Nope, not a pretty picture at all.

    God bless America.

    Now, this.
A Public Service Announcement calling for kids to Steal Their Parents’ Guns and take them to school and turn them in.

  10. Robert G says:

No surprise that a pro-crime wants more gun control on the law abiding. NY already has the strictest gun control in the country yet that didn’t stop the thug. The thug had a long criminal record so it was impossible for him to buy a gun legally. What we need is more thug control, like keeping them in jail. No more useless gun control laws which only serve to make the streets safer for criminals by disarming the law abiding.
