Mexico aids its own citizens efforts to stay in U$A

Are Republican House and Senate majorities poised to retreat on amnesty?

Mexicans living illegally in the United States are not only getting assistance via Barack Obama’s executive order shielding them from deportation, they are also getting help leaving Mexico…from Mexico.

On Thursday, the Mexican government began issuing birth certificates to its citizens at its 50 consulates in the United States —- a move that is a shocking affront to the sovereignty of the United States.

This brazen Mexican government action eases the way for illegals to obtain U.S. work permits, driver’s licenses, rent housing, enroll their children in schools and receive protection from deportation as they facilitate their lives here. Previously, Mexico required its citizens to get birth certificates at government offices in Mexico.

As House Republicans voted to defund appropriations (roll call vote under link) to the Department of Homeland Security in an effort to revoke Obama’s plan to allow millions of illegal aliens in the U.S. evade deportation, Mexico eases their path to leave. Facilitating their stay in the U.S. enables Mexican nationals to continue sending money, called remittances, across the border.

Remittances are a tax-free and massive transfer of wealth out of the United States. In 2013, an estimated $61 billion in remittances disappeared from our economy via the institutionalized money transfer industry, not only to Mexico, but throughout Latin America, where it remains a vital source of revenue. Mexico accounted for $22 billion, which according to the World Bank is in fourth place behind India, China and the Philippines in a global ranking for remittances according to this October 2013 report.

Now it appears Obama and Mexico have friends in both the U.S. House and Senate. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has vowed to maintain funding for the Department of Homeland Security, and is looking to pass a “clean funding bill” without any language restricting the administration’s actions on immigration.

Are Americans being treated to Oscar-worthy theatrics on the D.C. stage?

  1. State Delegate says:

I fully expect the Republicans to aid Obama’s amnesty. Arizonans and all Americans are being screwed by those who campaigned as conservatives. What’s the point of electing GOP majorities if they cave on this crucial issue?

  2. Kent says:

California, under liberal Gov. Jerry Brown and NYC, with commie deBlasio at the helm, are giving aid and comfort to illegals who take American jobs and cost taxpaying citizens billions in benefits. Yet these people have constituencies and get elected. Thank the public education system for dumbing down at least two generations of voters.

  3. ZOO says:

The freshly enacted Arizona civics test requirement for high school graduation is drawing high praise and is quickly being duplicated in other states. Multiple ‘man on the street’ civics questions conducted by various media outlets over the years clearly demonstrate that the majority of the public, particularly youth, are shamefully civics ignorant.

That said, this possibly could be preparation for a massive amnesty – turning every high school in America into citizenship training camps. That should be quite an “aid” for invaders at taxpayer expense, perhaps one-upmanship to Mexico, Obama, and the Republicans. Should this program develop into night classes for the “general public”, then the truth will out.

    • Former GOP PC says:

Where is the loosey goosey Diane Douglas on this? I have lost all trust in her running the AZ Ed Dept. To paraphrase State delgate’s comment, what’s the point of electing Republicans if they cave on this crucial issue? Now it looks as though there is a concerted effort among high dollar donors and the GOP establishment to shove Jeb Bush down our throats in 2016. Didn’t we learn anything from the failed Dole and McCain candidacies?

  4. Weary of Lies says:

What a disgrace!! These people are worthless!! We aren’t losing our country to the invaders and their supporters. Our deceptive and irresponsible elected “leaders” are willingly giving it up. Our nation’s Founders must be rolling in their graves.

    • SmallGovt says:

You nailed it, politicians with a paid agenda are our major problem. They are manipulated like manikins by lobbyists. We have to have term limits and end the staggering pay and benefit packages of public sector employees.

  5. Saguaro Sam says:

And now we learn that Gov. Ducey is diverting Another 135 Million dollars to schools (but apparently not universities).

And he is supposed to be a business man?

  6. SmallGovt says:

The most foolish law on the books of the USA is that a person born here of any mother is an American citizen. The Immigration lobby should tone down their overall message a bit but work on getting this changed immediately.

  7. computeruser6 says:

Who else remembers when Democrats like Harry Reid opposed illegal immigration, like say back in 1993?

Also, who remembers Elian Gonzalez? It’s not OK to send illegal immigrants back to their home country, unless said immigrants will vote for you I guess.
