Harry Reid‘s amnesty positions: Old and new versions

“No sane country would do that, right?” asked Harry Reid

This is U.S. Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) in 1993, standing in fervent opposition to the amnesty he now supports. Back then, Reid was unequivocal as he stated:

“If making it easy to be an illegal alien isn’t enough, how about offering a reward for being an illegal immigrant?  No sane country would do that, right? Guess again. If you break our laws by entering this country without permission and give birth to a child, we reward that child with your citizenship, and guarantee a full access to all public and social services this society provides. Now that’s a lot of services. Is it any wonder that 2/3 of the babies born at taxpayer expense in county-run hospitals in Los Angeles are born to illegal alien mothers?”

Fast forward. Using distortions, outright lies and clichés, slippery liberal hypocrite Harry Reid glibly pushes for amnesty and benefits for the approximately 30 million illegals who have invaded our country, in blatant disregard of our laws and sovereign national border. He opens his comment here by saying, “This has always been a personal issue for me, as I’ve said many, many times….”

In the intervening years, Harry Reid must have lost gray matter along with his hair.

Liberals view themselves as superior to the rest of us. They continue to “evolve“…..magically regurgitating their own words with completely new meanings. They are nothing more than political frauds, seeking new constituencies. In Reid’s case that would be illegals, who now are taking over Nevada.
This 2011 Pew Research Nevada demographic study shows they are young, uneducated, impoverished, not predominantly English speakers and fertile. In the few intervening years since this study was released, I doubt that the numbers have changed much. With their high birth rate, we can surely expect them to increase in the future.

Reid’s “evolving” vantage point is also influenced by his Latter-day Saints Church, which is heavily into proselytizing Mexicans, along with Central and South Americans. Hispanics are the largest group of new converts. That translates to more bodies in the church, and more people tithing ten percent of their incomes.

In this effort to push amnesty for lawbreakers, we’ve witnessed the unseemly spectacle of the Church’s 12th Article of Faith kicked like weighty garbage to the side of the road. It clearly states, “We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.”

In this short statement, Harry Reid actually used the now verboten words illegal aliens twice! Wow! Double Wow!!

  5. Standing Tall says:

Emperor Obama and his radical leftwing henchmen have the destruction of America as know it, as their front and center agenda. Our Founders could never have envisioned such a disaster.

so reid has flip flopped, kind of reminds you of the republican leadership huh.

    no real difference

  7. SmallGovt says:

At the minimum we should prohibit a non citizen to cross into the USA, have a child, and give it American citizenship. This is a no brainer!

  8. East Valley PC says:

Harry Reid is no different than John McCain and Jeff the Flake. They both campaigned for the senate as border hawks and then activated the pro-amnesty Gang of Eight immediately after the Flake was elected. I trust neither Democrats nor RINOs on this critical matter of undermining the United States to further personal agendas.

Here is how the government is wasting our money in the so called border surge:
