McCain v. Sinema: Ponder that sticky wicket

It’s a rare occurrence when we link directly to a report in the Arizona Republic, but this “exclusive” by Rebekah L. Sanders spiked our interest. It focuses on a new fundraising mechanism, “Getting Stuff Done” or GSD PAC, put together by and for the benefit extreme leftist U.S. Rep. Kyrsten Sinema (AZ CD-9).

Kalik & Associates, a self-described “progressive” soup-to-nuts beltway political consulting firm, lists Sinema as a client, and prominently displays a Politico article from Nov. 2014, congratulating her on being selected as the Dem’s chief deputy whip for the 114th Congress. It includes what easily could have been an overlooked predictive quote from Sinema:

That position often serves as a steppingstone for ambitious members who seek higher spots at the Democrats’ leadership table and is a get for the freshmen Democrat.

“Americans are fed up with the gridlock in Washington, and the tone in Congress needs to change. I look forward to working with Whip Hoyer and the rest of the Whip team to create opportunity, support veterans and get things done for Arizona families,” Sinema said.

There’s that reference to her newly created image as the one “Getting Stuff Done.”

Kyrsten Sinema has spent recent years recrafting her image. She has come full circle —- from a combatively foul-mouthed, in-your-face bi-sexual, avowed atheist, defamer of married women, anti-Israel, communist-party connected, open-borders advocate and anti-military anarchist —- to taping soft campaign ads in which she expresses her deep concern to the grieving parents of a serviceman who committed suicide.

If her plans include mounting a challenge to either Sen. John McCain or Jeff Flake, it will set up a political upheaval not seen since the 1970’s when incumbent congressmen John Conlan and Sam Steiger roughed each other up and Democrat Dennis DeConcini waltzed into the U.S. Senate they were vying for. There would not be an internecine bloodbath with this scenario, but simply envisioning the havoc sets teeth on edge.

John McCain’s mother advised the Republicans she knew had no use for him to “hold their nose,” and vote for John in 2008 when he ran against Barack Obama. We did it then. This might be the bridge too far far-left radical Sinema is banking on.

For a full picture of this deceptive changeling now representing CD 9, acquaint yourself with Guy Benson’s Townhall exposé included in this post, Kyrsten Sinema: Far-left radical AZ CD 9 Dem exposed. A link to Breitbart’s Big Government coverage by Trevor Loudon is included in AZ’s Big Red: Kyrsten Sinema’s Commie ties revealed.

If she’s the Dem candidate in 16 during a Presidential General then we can be fairly certain the GOP Candidate will win, as her positions and statements properly placed would guarantee the GOP Candidate a Victory, however the same could be said if this strategy was used for a Congressional Race against her as well rather than defending the GOP positions which for some is difficult due to records while in office or person ability to be the Pit Bull needed for the job. The one down side to this is if McCain is the candidate he’s almost guaranteed another term and all of US problems for 6 yrs. and he’ll more than likely have a GOP President and influence far to many issues borders and war his favorites.

Agree with Clair with one distinction, Sinema’s CD is fine with her, and skews Left. So she will be fine as a CD, but agree on Senator. The place to nail McCain is in the Primary. Conservatives MUST be very careful as to who they run. J.D. Hayworth may have had good positions, but he came off very negatively to the middle and given the uproar over paying his wife, he was in dead last right out of the gate.

I live here part time, so I don’t know all of the potential players. Schweikert comes off as being too much of a get along guy to actually run against McCain, and he isn’t well known for speaking to crowds. Salmon? Gosar? There are a few hiccups with either, but McCain’s background wasn’t perfect when he first was elected to Senator.

    • Attila The Hunny says:

Conservative Hayworth was also outspent nearly 10 to 1 by RINO McCain. That just might have had something to do with the outcome of that race!

    • LEO IN TSN says:

McTraitor and McSnake have proven that $23+ million can put a lot of lies into the Sheeples’ mailbox and TV set.

And there will always be the McCainiac team of professionals and volunteers, full- and part-time, who continue to ceaselessly perpetuate the lies perpetually so as to pave the way for the next ascending McRINO candidate (read AZ5). Many conservative patriotic Americans will no longer hold their noses to vote for big-government leftists, “R” or not (remember Dr. Richard Carmona?). It’s time to go back to our Constitution (limited federal gov’t).

      God bless America.

  3. SuzanneC says:

If we can keep the ego candidates out the race we may have a chance this time, he betrayed the people so fast in 2010 it made heads swim and many have not forgot. All McLiars turning conservative this time is not going to matter one hill of beans. I myself wrote in JD Hayworth’s name, I held my nose in 2008, never again.

  4. ZOO says:

“We did it then.” Well I didn’t do it then. I simply skipped the ‘Pres box’ in ’08 and wouldn’t hold my nose – not even at gunpoint. The shocking massive ignorance and corruption of the Republican electorate to hand McCain the nomination was enough for me to walk away from the invasion battle for an extended period – seeing it with new eyes as a battle against the Republican party even more so than a battle against Democrats and La Raza.

This presumptive piece assumes McCain will waltz through the 2016 primary – hardly comparable to knowing the Power Ball’s winning numbers in advance. An Sinema run for the Senate might just be what the doctor ordered. That would require the CoC check pantzers to do some soul searching before the primary – which appears to be already in progress (see link). To send McCain to the embalming prep table I would vote for Raul Grijalva, Mary Rose Lardcox, or even “El Enema.” What a difference seven years make – not sticky at all.

  5. MacBeth says:

We have Republican Congressmen chomping at the bit for this opportunity, but I doubt they want to challenge the McEstablishment which would find ways to crush anyone who opposes them and their agenda . Grin-boy Jeff Flake is a senate first termer, who takes unpopular sides on amnesty and Cuba, for example. His poll numbers are deeper in the toilet than the atrocious McCain. This poll was taken even before his son and wife got off the hook for their responsibility and accompanying bad acts in the deaths of two dozen dogs. A lot of dog owners will never vote for Flake or his county attorney chum Bill McMontgomery again.

  6. Clair Van Steenwyk says:

Anyone who runs against him had better be fairly clean or at the very least any dirt had better be dated back decades and not politically related or driven. Sen. McCain has dirt on all in DC from AZ both personal & political and doesn’t hesitate to threaten or give to others to do the same, so hope someone is picked that’s what I mentioned earlier and a Constitutionally based and loyal to it with no compromise of Our God Granted Unalienable Rights, not saying you can’t compromise on a Hwy. project, or tank program etc. just not Our Rights. God Bless You; Van

  7. jon jensen says:

It would be like when hitler attacked stalin or iraq-iran war, you wouldn’t know who to boo for!

  8. SmallGovt says:

I don’t believe it and think either Sinema or Gabby Giffords will be either the next Senator or Governor of Arizona. As the state turns into California and the public trough continues to grow there are too many people trying to get in on the action. The Republicans will help by making foolish comments and running unelectable candidates.

    I hope I am wrong!

  9. Doc says:

    mcStain’s gonna’ endorse sin-enema!!!

    • SmallGovt says:

Not what I said, obviously but the people of Arizona, who elected Napolitano, will. Unless the Republicans run a better candidate you will have Giffords or Sinema

  10. If the Dems run Sinema then McCain wins as the GOPers will circle the wagons and hold their noses, which they’d probably do no matter who the Dem is, he must be beat in the Primary and to do that will take more than talk, it will take $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and plenty of them to defeat him, along with someone who understands just how dirty he and his are and will not shrink back from a full blown attack on his term in office and lies he’s told and don’t forget to watch those in office who support him in the Primary and be sure you don’t support them or anyone he does. God Bless You ; Van
