Dad protests Islamic indoctrination in school, files lawsuit

The Thomas More Law Center (TMLC) refers to itself as the Christian response to the ACLU, as it defends and promotes America’s Judeo-Christian heritage and moral values —-  including the religious freedom of Christians, time-honored family values, and the sanctity of human life.  It provides its services pro bono.

Among the key issues and numerous cases TMLC has taken on is this one that needs to stay in the spotlight. It falls under the heading of Common Core, a topic Seeing Red AZ has covered extensively and one which TMLC has devoted considerable effort in exposing.

The Michigan-based group is representing firefighter and former Marine John Kevin Wood, and his wife, Melissa, in their battle with La Plata High School in Maryland over the Islamic indoctrination of their 11th-grade daughter in her World History class. Their daughter was required to complete assignments in which she had to affirm that “There is no God but Allah” and the other Five Pillars of Islam. Wood defended freedom in both Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. When he protested the curriculum, he was banned from the school property.

Late in 2014, TMLC reported, “Marine Dad Banned from School Property; Daughter Gets Failing Grade for Refusing Islamic Indoctrination,” as it announced its representation of the Wood family in a lawsuit. We urge you to read the post. This study program could be coming to a school near you.

Islam in our Schools is an informative site dedicated to exposing the light treatment and revisionist history given Islam in public schools. http://www.islaminourschools.com/about/

America is being re-culturalized and it’s beginning with our children in school — away from the “prying eyes” of their parents.

I found these disturbing reports here on Seeing Red AZ through a Google search. (SeeingRedAZ Islamic textbooks) since I had a vague recollection of having read something on the topic here previously. One goes back to 2008 and other 2010.

You guys should have included the links in this post. Tsk. Tsk.

“This study program could be coming to a school near you.” Yes it may given Doug Ducey’s slap in the face to the folks who are fighting against Common Core. Ignoring Diane Douglas while bringing in loudmouth Lisa Keegan Graham on Ducey’s “Education Day” was a move that Nanny Janny would have pulled.

Be very aware of the Ice Cream Man, he’s a screaming Chamber of Commerce hater of all that is Conservative.

  4. Army Of One says:

The radical Hamas-linked CAIR has been pushing for Maryland public schools to close on Muslim holidays.

  5. Overtaxed1 says:

Diane Douglas has no defense. She could call a press conference and fight against Common Core full bore but she will not do that because she wants her cushy job and fat pay check. She says she is on the ‘same page” with Ducey. He is clearly on the same page with Lisa Graham Keegan who campaigned for her opponent and is clearly for Common Core. Diane can come out against CC in private meetings but will not stand strong in the press.

    • ZOO says:

Douglas ran and was elected on her stand against Common Core; she never vowed to single-handedly axe it because that responsibility lies with various school boards and/or the state legislature. Maybe you should be contacting your local school board and your House and Senate representatives rather than ragging on Douglas – who has been in office just over 30 days and surrounded on all sides by the McCain/CoC slate.

    Connect the McDots….
Lisa Graham Keegan (described on this blog as a former RINO, now a registered Independent) supported the far left Democrat David Garcia. She was McCain’s education policy adviser when he ran for president.

McCain and his establishment cronies supported Ducey.

Ducey invites Keegan to participate in his education town hall and omits Diane Douglas, who is the elected Arizona Superintendent of Public Education.

Robert Graham who leads the AZ Republican Party, “mistakenly” omitted Diane Douglas from the GOP election mailer preceding the General Election.

Graham was the one responsible for clearing the auditorium at the state GOP meeting, to allow for McCain, Flake and McCain’s Vietnamese flag waving supporters to to slip in the back way, with the flag wavers hooting and hollering his praises from the balcony while many of the rest of us booed and turned our backs on Sens. McAmensty and McFlake.

Here’s the lineup: McCain=Flake=Ducey=Graham Keegan=Graham. That’s how many ways and on how many levels we’re being screwed. And don’t forget, Jon Kyl is still working behind the scenes as when he got down into the weeds and sent our mailers to oust the conservative precinct committeemen in one specific precinct in order to ensure one of them couldn’t remain as Maricopa County Chairman.

These elites are all lying snakes. They ALL need to go.

This rush-to-judgement on Diane Douglas could be a tragic error. She is not on the McDucey team, obvious from the way he has rudely (in typical RINO fashion) dismissed her mandate, and that is dismissing US! Mrs. Douglas is still making some very clear and strong statements about her plans and goals to stop Common Core and the radical racist La Raza studies started in the Tucson District. Those statements just don’t seem to get reported by the media, and maybe that’s by design. Maybe the media has an agenda in this, to twist-misreport-nonreport so as to lead her supporters (like oh say-SRA people) to give up on her and throw her to the wolves, like if there’s oh maybe a recall or something. Maybe McDucey is counting on that. Wouldn’t that be a simple way to cement Common Core?

I would suggest that we continue to support Diane Douglas and our courageous state legislators who will be doing battle with McDucey. And a little more pressure on the RINO governor might help also – he has a state telephone and email address.

Don’t be distracted from the real problems for US, McDucey and a RINO contingent (read AZ5) in Congress. King RINO Boehner and his puppets are trying to rush Common Core into federal law before the people even know it’s happening. Let our squishy AZ5 know how you feel. Demand roll call votes and NO fast-tracking.

Support the good guys (& gals) and focus on the real McTraitors who will enslave US.

    God bless America.

I am very skeptical if this is true. Maybe some History of Islam class but not Muslim indoctrination in public schools. If true, it is terrible.
