Amnesty deceit: AZ’s U.S.senators compulsive liars

McCain and Kyl brazenly told pre-election lies — Flake later joined the trickery

Amid the dire news bombarding us from virtually every corner we offer this bit of sardonic levity as we take a trip back in time. Just five years ago in 2010, Jon Kyl, then an Arizona senator, appeared on CBS’ Face the Nation to discuss birthright citizenship.

The headline, “Kyl: Illegal Aliens’ Kids Shouldn’t Be Citizens,” even uses the now verboten term “illegal aliens.” Kyl said that Congress should hold hearings to look into denying citizenship to illegal aliens’ children born in the United States, as the fight over illegal immigration widened to include the “birthright” issue.

John McCain’s compliant shadow Sen. Lindsey Graham, (R-SC), said he was considering introducing a Constitutional amendment to repeal a provision of the 14th Amendment, which guarantees citizenship to anyone born within U.S. borders. Kyl cunningly admitted he suggested to Graham that Congress hold hearings, “and hear first from the constitutional experts to at least tell us what the state of the law on that proposition is.”

A newly landed Martian tuning into the news program could be forgiven for mistaking the slickster Kyl for a conservative.

“The 14th Amendment [has been] interpreted to provide that if you are born in the United States, you are a citizen no matter what,” Kyl said. “So the question is, if both parents are here illegally, should there be a reward for their illegal behavior?”

Kyl configured the issue using these words, “illegal aliens taking jobs that Americans want; immigrants posing a burden on the state in the form of education, medical care and welfare benefits; and crime.”  He even bickered with host Harry Smith who claimed that crime has had a negative correlation with the arrival of illegals. “Crime in Phoenix, for instance, is down significantly over the last couple of years,” Smith said.

“That’s a gross generalization,” Kyl shot back. “Property crimes are up. Certain violent crimes on certain parts of the citizenry are up. Phoenix is a very large source of kidnapping. It’s called the kidnapping capital of the United States because the illegal immigrants who are brought to Phoenix for distribution throughout the country are held in drop houses.”

Kyl said the law is not discriminatory. “But if you live here in Arizona you’ll appreciate the fact that we have a great tradition, particularly with our neighbor to the south, Mexico. It’s not a matter of being anti-Hispanic. It’s a matter of wanting to enforce the law.”

POLITICO noted John McCain backed altering the Constitution’s 14th Amendment.

The Hill covered Kyl’s appearance, accurately reporting the lawmakers’ statements signal that the GOP was striking a tougher rhetorical posture on illegal immigration before the November elections.

The Arizona Republic covered both Kyl’s and McCain’s newfound stances. Though the duo led the 2007 amnesty scheme known as “Comprehensive Immigration Reform” including a pathway to citizenship for illegals, they brazenly reconfigured themselves to con Arizona voters. As McCain faced reelection, he imitated a border chameleon —- until the ballots were counted.  Then he reverted to his former amnesty position.

As Jeff Flake campaigned to replace the retiring Jon Kyl in 2011, he assumed the identical position, lying through his pearly whites and incurring the wrath of the pro-amnesty local newspaper.

The only constants are the lies.

Oh please we knew all this and the so called tea party conservatives wanted another R in Arizona s o they supported that lying deceitful snake Flake.

    • LD 23 PC says:

What explains the fact that these lying con artists keep getting reelected? The voters are ignorant of facts and get their information from the campaign ads that disrupt the mind numbing sitcoms they’re watching. We will lose our country just as the Romans lost theirs as the government gave the citizens free beer, wheat and circuses to distract them from the corruption.

  2. Clair Van Steenwyk says:

The voters don’t get the facts for several reasons, press won’t report them at most levels, those who want McCain out don’t back it up with the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$s needed to remove him, so you’ll probably get six more yrs. unless this pattern changes. It’s going to take no less than 10 Million, that will be well spent on informing the Average Voters, not the activists and can be easily done. If we’d have had half that amount could of stopped Flake in 12, and overcome his / McCain’s Strawman Cardon who was also used in 14 to take votes from Pearce so Reagan could win the SOS job. McCain thinks through his strategy and will plant if possible his people inside any campaign against him or get PACS to support them just enough for them to lose, hope any who run against him realize it’s a War and not just an election.

Clair-the last time Arizona’s U.S. Senatorial seat currently occupied by the liar mcStain was up for grabs, the co$t of that seat was approximately $28,000,000.00…give or take a coupla’ million. $10,000,000.00 won’t git ‘er dun…..not even close.
P.S.-Thanks for the blessings…we all need ’em!

      • Clair Van Steenwyk says:

Doc; Money against McCain was poorly spent and only about 3 million, so if you manage 10 million properly and don’t split the vote he’ll lose he spent over 23 million and only got 56% as an incumbent and former Presidential Candidate so lose 8 to 9% and he loses and he’s more unpopular now than then, only need to use Media, Sign Boards properly and Internet and not depend so much on hard locations. They’ll also need to start by Sept 15 to begin the name ID or they’ll play catch up as well and there’s a way to do that, similar to what we did in the Food business when introducing new products to customers and never had even one fail, just sorry we didn’t have those funds in 10 or 12.

    • SmallGovt says:

Its baloney to say voters don’t get the facts. Maybe they don’t want to look for facts but they are out there if people search.

      • The Uninformed Voter is Uninformed for a reason, all the news they do hear is slanted and those in office constantly lie, therefore they don’t or won’t get involved by design of the Press and Party’s as well to get Voter Apathy seems to be working. I know many active voters who don’t have the time to look up votes, as they have jobs, children etc., etc., which is what most consider a valid excuse not to fact check. I and many others take time to look up votes both the No before the Yes and they Yes before the No, done to fool many voters and works. I’ll say it again if all who say they want to fix this are serious it takes both Time & $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ to get it done or nothing will change. Remember Incumbents are just that because people Vote for them and yes many uninformed and apathetic as well, but still Vote. God Bless You; Van

  3. American Dad says:

These practiced liars do and say whatever it takes to win reelection. They have no principles which apparently plays well with a large enough segment of voters who have no brains.

  4. Frankly Speaking says:

There’s a real possibility Señor Juan McAmnesty could face a challenger who could take the old RINO out. Keep your eye on state senator Kelli Ward. Check out her credentials!!

  5. East Valley Conservative says:

If we pay attention, we can’t be conned without our consent. The elections of Jon Kyl, John McCain, Jeff Flake and Barack Obama attest to the fact that too many voters statewide and nationally have their heads up their butts. The rest of us and future generations have to suffer for the actions of the dullards. It’s past time to shake that paradigm up. We need to recruit solid conservative candidates and help fund their campaigns over the RINOs, liars, cheats and known disasters. The current crop of frauds need to be consigned to the political trash heap.

    • Doc says:

E.V.C.- These criminals are like “Th MAFIA”! And th’ fix is in. We HAD a conservative. J.D. Hayworth. mcStain spent 28+ million dollars and bought the seat he currently is buzy soiling. And he’s not th’ only one. obastard, boehner, mc”-con man-“connel peloony, etc. They are all in this together. Th’ sad thing is that th Mafia have more scruples. Sadly, I’m afraid that we’re in for a LLOOOOOONNNG mess.

  6. jon jensen says:

Why would senator kyl say something like that in the first place? When you want to take away an american’s citizenship what is to stop “them” from taking away your citizenship when they get control in a few years? When you sow the wind you reap the whirlwind? I sure don’t want my citizenship taken away!

    • Hometown Guy says:

They are only citizens by virtue of a gross misinterpretation of the Fourteenth Amendment. It was never intended to apply to America’s invaders. The Fourteenth Amendment rightly granted citizenship to the American born children of recently freed slaves following the Civil War. It has been perverted to include any newborn whose mother could sneak across our border in time to drop her baby. There is also a massive business in maternity tourism, where (predominantly) Middle Eastern and Chinese pregnant women pay large sums to be put up in hotels specifically for this purpose. They then give birth to brand new American citizens in maternity clinics that are on the hotel grounds and after a vacation here, fly back home with their link to chain migration for the entire family. Quite a deal, which American taxpayers are forced to underwrite.

      • Not Citizens, example; if someone enters your home illegally and while there has a child are you then obligated to adopt it, the so called Reps in DC and several State Caps are on their side and the State Dept. as well, illegals send billions back to home country which help prop up bad governments, Wake up and look at facts rather than Emotional reasons for allowing the Rape of America and Our Grandchildrens futures.

  7. SmallGovt says:

You have to have term limits…there is no other answer. They all are power hungry.

  8. Doc says:

I don’t believe the rattlesnakes are going to vote to have their venom permanently removed…term limits are the answer…they’re just never going to happen.

  9. Conservative Since Birth says:

All three of these ‘representatives of the people’ are about the worst a Red State can do. Here we have three Republicans who work against much of the base of the party that elected them. Usually, there would be one standout – who calls himself a ‘conservative’ – acting like one. Not this trio. Have to hand it to Kyl, however. He retired. If we got rid of the ring leader – McCain – things would change drastically for the better with a real Conservative.

    • Arizona Conservative Guy says:

I heard Sen. Kelli Ward speak recently. She strikes me as the real deal. I remain hopeful.

      • azgary says:

she just did everything she could to ensure common core is kept in place.

      • Clair Van Steenwyk says:

As the Senators said when they voted to take the authority away from the Supt. with her consent I might add, it’s only 2 Employees, which to me demonstrates not truly understanding the issue here, This wasn’t done with the consent of the Voters and don’t believe Voters would have agreed, but who listens to Voters after the elections. God Bless You; Van

  10. azgary says:

    blah, blah, blah

salmon, gosar and schweikert have written editorials calling for amnesty, yet say they are against it and people believe it, in fact SRAZ endorsed them knowing full well they are for amnesty, and many of the readers that come here and bitch about McCain, Boehner, amnesty etc…. still voted for the az amnesty congressmen because its the “lesser of two evils”

im getting tired of hearing the whining

either stop voting for them or STFU

    • Clair Van Steenwyk says:

Stop voting for them, is the only way to stop this insanity and be sure not to Vote for nayone they support as well. God Bless You; Van

    • Arizona Conservative Guy says:

You couldn’t be more wrong about Sen. Ward and Common Core. She opposes the fed ed scheme.

      • Clair Van Steenwyk says:

HB 2184 wrong vote, gave authority to an appointed board over and elected official, who also agreed to the bill, no matter to me and others, someone needs to watch the hen house and no one did on this one.

      • azgary says:

LOL, you listen to a politicians propaganda page instead of paying attention to their actions.

        get informed

  11. Saguaro Sam says:

Take a look at what the American Action Network (closely affiliated with John Boehner) has done.

Taking out very expensive ads, telling people to Thank specific Pro Amnesty Republicans.

    • barries1 says:

Besides that the typical RINO’s did everything they could to get 90 year old Cochran elected over Tea Party McDaniel!
