McCain’s mean machine gearing up

Amid rampant speculation of potential congressional challengers to John McCain, it looks like a long shot that any of them will step up to the task. In fact, they are peeling off faster than a cheap auto paint job in the Phoenix sun.

Schweikert‘s officially out. Gosar won‘t take on the fight. Franks has no reason to give up the seat on which he has a lock, and it will be a shocker of monumental proportions if Salmon decides to run against John McCain.

None of these Arizona congressmen are willing to subject themselves and their families to the brutality of the McCain political apparatus, that relies on opposition research —- often with manufactured results —- to decimate challengers. Having access to money to wage such internecine battles is not a problem for one who has been in D.C. since what seems like the dawn of time —- 1983. On the other hand, six six-year terms is more than Arizonans should have to endure.

Enter a strong opponent. A woman and a family physician, two-term state Sen. Kelli Ward is considering contesting McCain. Dr./Sen. Ward is impressive, which is why the long knives of McCain’s surrogates are out early.

Moreover, she is not playing coy, but acknowledges her interest in mounting a challenge in this email to supporters: “By now, many of you have heard the rumors about my considering a run for the U.S. Senate,” Ward recently wrote. “Those rumors are, in fact, true. I am seriously considering a primary challenge to Senator John McCain in 2016.”

Over the weekend, McCain’s sycophant reporter at the daily newspaper delved into Ward’s potential challenge by interviewing a blustering McCain crony who diminished her as “not a viable candidate.”  The task at hand is to reconfigure McCain’s decades in D.C. as “experience” rather than an excessive, imperial overstay in the office that the nation’s Founders envisioned as a part-time job and not a decades-long career. Citizen legislators came to Washington a few weeks in the winter —- prior to planting season, since many were farmers —- and tend to the nation’s business before returning home to attend to their own.

McCain, who resides in an exclusive penthouse condo, is no farmer, but his ability to liberally spread leftwing manure has earned him repeated censures from the elected Republican state and county committeeman who have had their fill of his RINO ways. (video under link.)  At the statutory meeting this past January, both John McCain and Jeff Flake were greeted with boos and turned backs, while other state committeemen walked out on their speeches. In retaliation, his operatives have worked diligently to purge the precinct committeeman rolls of conservatives.

Fearful of losing, he bought his last election by spending most of the nearly $30 million from the taxpayer-funded matching funds left in his presidential war chest to flood the Arizona market with advertising —- attracting low information voters, who recognize his name but are unfamiliar with his deceptive deeds.

McCain will celebrate his 80th birthday in 2016. Conservative Kelli Ward, 46, will be a welcome change.

  1. SuzanneC says:

Put Kelli next to McLiar and the optics alone will insure a victory for her. That being said, Kelli Ward is a conservative unlike McCain who is starting early trying to trick us into believing he is really really conservative, “Build the dang fence”.

  2. State Delegate says:

John McCain has been reduced to using the tactics of a con to appear viable in hopes of retaining the senate seat. As an elected state committeeman, I was in attendance at the 2015 January state GOP meeting, where McCain and Flake were slipped in the back way after the auditorium was deceptively cleared for a “lunch break” by McCain’s complicit state chairman Robert Graham. Not only were the two RINO senators secretly shuttled in but a contingent of Vietnamese supporters waving their national flags were hustled up to the balcony to cheer for McCain over the boos he correctly anticipated. It would have been comedic if not so pathetic. He has been reduced to filling a hall with Vietnamese since those of us who know him best like him least.

Ward needs a knowledgeable Arizonan – unconnected to her campaign – who knows all McCain’s smarmy baggage and all his dirty deals since the late 1970s.
Read my book (Amazon under my name) and get a sample. “Casual Executions” is a roman a clef that details how the man who ordered the assassination of AZ Republic reporter, Don Bolles in June of 1976 was covered up by friends, political allies and in-laws of John McCain.
      For example:
Remember how Republic Editor in Chief, DukeTully, bragged in his many public speeches about being an ACE Air Force pilot in Viet Nam? Remember how Senator Barry Goldwater was a General in the Air Force, and how McCain was a Navy pilot?
Remember how the Republic loyally supported Barry and John?
Tully was finally exposed by Mecham people.
Ever wonder how Tully (who had never been in the Armed Forces) managed to get away with his war stories for all those years?
We need to take out the trash, and Arizona needs to know the truth about McCain. First step? Read Casual Executions.
Second step? Organize opposition without connecting to the Ward campaign.
We organized a statewide tax Initiative for the 1980 election (defeated by millions from McCain, Barr, Babbit etc.) and we can do it again.

      • Villanova says:

Good information, but for one glaring error. It was actually then Maricopa County Attorney Tom Collins, a former Marine, not Gov. Mecham, who exposed Arizona Republic & Phoenix Gazette publisher Darrow (Duke) Tully as a fraud back in 1986.

Tully who incessantly promoted his friend John McCain fabricated a career as a combat pilot in the Korean and Vietnam wars, although he had never actually served in the military. After Tully admitted his deceit, he immediately resigned his post with the newspapers. Tully’s fraud was so complete, he even wore dress military uniforms complete with medals to events he attended with McCain. John and Cindy were so grateful for his political help, they even named him as godfather to their firstborn, Meghan. After being exposed, the sanctimonious McCain dumped his close pal and political benefactor Tully.

Duke Tully’s lies followed him to his grave.

      • William Heuisler says:

        Villanova,
Aside from the known appetite for power of Pat Murphy, please remember Sam Steiger, who was close to Evan Mecham and had a long history with the men who should have known about Tully and said nothing, Sam was attacked at the time by the Republic; he probably retaliated by advising the CA. At the time, Sam celebrated the night before the news broke and chortled out loud about the way Bob and Barry would react.
We will never know, but Collins enjoyed the moment along with all the rest of us who had suffered unfair treatment by the Republic.

  3. John Liberty says:

Oh but let us NOT FORGET …. That John McCain proposed a pro-invasion bill that spends $100 MILLION, and does nothing more than make it a Federal Crime to block DHS buses, opens up “processing centers in foreign nations” like Central America … AND …. provides refugee status for illegal aliens before they even get onto our sovereign national soil.
It is the key parts of the “CREST ACT,” or ‘‘Children Returning an Expedited and Safe Timeline Act’’ which laid it out what our “Clear and Present Danger” is. John McCain and Jeff Flake, the RINO’s in our midst. Let us learn what the Founding Fathers said:

“Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both.” – Benjamin Franklin.

“Guard against the impostures of pretended patriotism.”
    – George Washington.

“Where an excess of power prevails, property of no sort is duly respected. No man is safe in his opinions, his person, his faculties, or his possessions.” – James Madison.
“The truth is that all men having power ought to be mistrusted.”
    – James Madison.

“There is danger from all men. The only maxim of a free government ought to be to trust no man living with power to endanger the public liberty.” – John Adams.

  4. Kathy says:

McCain says he will support Cruz IF he wins the GOP nomination – this from the same mane who just a few years ago called Cruz a “Wacko Bird”. McCain is most certainly is running like He** to the right – ahhh it’s must be campaign time again. AZ lets get rid of this phony this time!!!!! Remember McCain loves Obama, supported the Arab spring, supports the Syrian rebels (ISIS), loves amnesty, HATES Conservatives – the list goes on and on.

    • SmallGovt says:

Didn’t McCain actually say he would support the Republican who got the Republican nomination?

      • Kathy says:

?? Your response. Above I wrote McCain says he will support Cruz IF he wins the GOP nomination, who knows if McCain actually will support whoever is the GOP nomination. McCain also said he would support Hillary. One thing for sure McCain will attack viciously Conservative members of the GOP as he has done may times, especially when they are trying to expose the Muslim Brotherhood – ask Trent Franks and Michelle Bachmann.

      • Doc says:

Who gives a rat’s behind who mctraitor supports? His support of ANY (r)epublican Presidential nominee will help in their defeat. He needs to go pound sand!

  5. Ajo Joe says:

In 2008 McCain barely carried Arizona over Obama winning by only 9 points. That speaks volumes about his connection in the “home state” he carpetbagged into back in the early 1980’s solely to run for retiring U.S. Rep. John Rhodes’ congressional seat.

We can’t allow Señor Juan McCain pull another fast one. It was well-known in GOP circles that he had to be talked into running as a Republican, which was not his first choice! There are still a few members of the once powerful “Phoenix 40” group of then influential movers and shakers around. Ask one of them for verification of this fact. They were the ones who strong armed him to run as a Republican. He even briefly moved to the east valley to show his commitment, phony though it was.

Why do you think he configured himself as a “maverick?” it wasn’t to promote Republican values or issues. He was bucking most of them and has continued to do so over the decades.

  6. SmallGovt says:

Not gonna happen…McCain would love this opponent.

  7. East Valley Conservative says:

If she chooses to run, Kelli Ward will have my support regardless of who else enters this race. Congressman Matt Salmon has vulnerabilities that should keep him out. And many of us will not forget the pro-amnesty piece he co-authored with his House Republicrats Paul Gosar and David Schweikert. I was disgusted reading it last year. He probably thinks we’ve forgotten. I haven’t and most conservatives will not give him a pass on this double talk. They lumped illegal invaders into the same pot with actual legal immigrants and blame what they refer to as a broken immigration system rather than the illegals themselves. All three of them use the 11 million number of illegals which has been used repeatedly for years by amnesty supporters. The true number is likely three times that misleading figure.
    http://www.immigrationcounters.com/
Also, their united effort to bring in guest workers while American citizens are unemployed or underemployed is beyond revolting. Gosar and Schweikert might be out, but Salmon still lurks.

For a memory refresher read this load of BS they jointly wrote and signed:

    • Conservative Since Birth says:

We can’t win. Stuck with Republicans who say they’re conservative and really, they’re not. Certainly not Senator Bait ‘n Switch. Every campaign cycle, he comes around as a ‘conservative’ and it’s worked so far for him. When he comes to AZ, he must sit up there in his penthouse condo in the Biltmore section of town and laugh at how stupid people are.

These three congressmen are not conservatives on the topic of immigration. Gosar was on a weekly Phoenix Saturday radio show as a guest – calling himself a conservative over and over. Being a dentist, he wanted to get into Congress to get rid of Obamacare. Never hear a peep out of him. There are real conservatives who rally against Boehner and stand up for conservatism – these three (or Trent Franks) are never on that team.

  8. jon jensen says:

If you want mccain out are you letting kelli ward know that your supporting her by putting your money where your blog is? Money talks you know what walks. If she has a million are more bucks even the media will take her seriously

  9. Clair Van Steenwyk says:

Why not used a Time Tested Document to Test All potential Candidates for office, The US Constitution and if in State Office that and the State Constitution and see how they vote and then we should all have a fair idea as to the future service of them, this I believe is the best method and if used may just be able to turn the ship of State around. However if we use the old or established method of Better of Two Evils well, fearing one less than the other isn’t a good method as decisions made in fear over time have proven to be Bad Ones. God Bless You; Van

    • Overtaxed1 says:

Oh my, how easily you all forget the recent Kelli Ward blow to the opponents of Common Core. As a true conservative I would not vote for her for two big reasons that took the power from WE THE PEOPLE. Does anyone know the other or aren’t you paying attention? Absolutely NO to the lesser of two evils. NO, NO, NO.

      • Clair Van Steenwyk says:

My point is to vet by the Constitution both of them and if they don’t understand or if in office vote accordingly then no support.

  10. SuzanneC says:

I will vote for the proverbial ham sandwich over McCain.

  11. Clair Van Steenwyk says:

That’s how Americas got in this mess, vote for anything but and never really know the BUTT you’re voting for.

    • SuzanneC says:

In other words support you? No thank you. You caused so much trouble in a group I ran because you had all the answers and no one else could get a word in, only your ideas were any good and if somebody wanted anything your first words were “no”. And yes I would still vote for that ham sandwich.

  12. SmallGovt says:

Kelli will be the best thing ever to happen to McCain. He will steamroller her and then appear gracious in victory.

  13. Conservative Since Birth says:

McCain is a vile, nasty old SOB who despises conservatives. He’s determined to slip in another six years in the Senate – at any cost.
He’ll pull out all stops against a challenger. I honestly don’t know how to beat him with all his millions to beat up the enemy. I will get behind a good candidate however. With the baggage he has – as much as Hillary at least – wouldn’t that be a way to fight him. Get it out there. He’s outlived any usefulness some believe he had. He’s mostly working for the other side and thinks he’s the Ted Kennedy of the Senate, especially on illegal immigration. He has long gone against the Republicans – it’s time to kick him out!

I’m watching him lately being ‘conservative.’ He’s not voting for Loretta Lynch (but his acolytes, Flake and Graham will). He’s been sniping at Obama. As 2016 approaches, we won’t recognize him. What a joke.

  14. PV PC says:

I read the article in the AZ Repulsive newspaper referred to in this post. The “blustering McCain crony” who said Sen. Kelli Ward was not a viable candidate, should have been identified as Sean Noble the arrogant “dark money” kingpin and John Shadegg’s former chief of staff. Why the reluctance to call him out by name as the dedicated McCain supporter he is?

    • MacBeth says:

Kelli Ward is no Stuart Starky. He was the middle school math teacher and perennial liberal candidate the dems put up against McCain. I recall the newspaper referring to him as a “sacrificial lamb.”

McCain can’t discount Sen. Ward and certainly can’t mistreat or condescend to her or he’ll lose more than just the woman’s vote. Watch as he’ll revert to his old pattern of having his political proxies such as Sean Noble, Wes Gullett, Gordon James, the AZ Republic’s McCain promoting Dan Nowicki and out of office Jon Kyl, do his dirty work for him. Unfortunately, the local media is in his pocket and even Fox News, which claims to be “fair and balanced” gave McCain all the interviews he could desire, leaving crumbs for conservative former US Rep. J.D. Hayworth. There was collusion on every level. The local KFYI radio is still in McCain’s pocket and slobbers over him at every opportunity.

      • Doc says:

…kfyi? Are they still broadcasting? On th’ AM RADIO?

ONLINE however, I just got done listening to the Mark Levin program…who had not only Ted Cruz on this evening, but…

        (wait for it…………………..)

……AZ State Senator Dr. Kelli Ward! Those of you who aren’t listening to Mr. Levin’s podcasts are truly missing out on some of the finest information available to Constitutional Conservatives! Here’s the link, bring up today’s date after clicking the “Audio Rewind” she’s on at the 85:30 mark…

  15. SmallGovt says:

We have McCain primarily because of people like many on SRAZ who run around with the scrambled eggs on their caps and saying we must spend more on Defense Department.

    • Clementine says:

Right! Let’s underfund our military and allow the enemy to win on all fronts. You’re on the right track….NOT. Ronald Reagan knew the importance of a well funded military and he was shown to be right. I’m glad a hermit isolationist like you has no chance of running the country.

      • SmallGovt says:

Unfund…ha they are being funded at a rate never imagined in history. They have more money, from more accounts and waste it on boondoggled like the F-35. McCain tries to talk tough and then gives them more than they ask for. All you do with that talk is elect McCain.

  16. MacBeth says:

    Doc,
You’re the best!! Thanks for this tip on Mark Levin havng Kelli Ward as a guest! He’s a true conservative and smart as they come. If he’s impressed with Sen. Ward, that says a lot. I’ll tune in on Wednesday and catch this replay.

    • Doc says:

I’m ALL ABOUT th’ Service, MacBeth! SRAZ & Co. have taught me SO MUCH!! ANYTIME I come across something useful to help save what’s left of America, I’ll post it here!! You’re welcome!

  17. Borderhawk says:

Once it becomes clear who the anti-McCain candidate is, that person will raise 1 million easily based on the hate for him across 50 states. Perhaps millions more could be spent by outside groups who want street cred with conservative donors and grassroots Republicans.

Also Senate Conservatives and Madison Project will run ads against McCain. Maybe Club For Growth if they want to still maintain small donors and credibility with Heritage and other groups providing better conservative rating charts.

Some of these conservative groups will fundraise for donations based on people who hate McCain.

Having a legislature person is good because McCain can’t claim they wanted to defund border patrol or DHS. Voting conservative in the legislature is pretty easy.

Limbaugh never endorses in primaries, but I think he might at least announce that everyone hates McCain should get behind one candidate and name that candidate.

Levin, Beck, Ingraham and others will bash McCain.

Hannity might at least come out and say McCain is too old.

  18. Jerry Joaquin says:

    Hope she wins
