Behind the scenes: Robert Graham’s exclusive Exec. Meeting

This is what actually took place at the April 18, 2015 CLOSED AZ GOP Executive Meeting.  The transcript is taken directly from a recording:

AZGOP Executive Committee transcript

The issue of closed primary elections has been front and center on this site for some time, along with the duplicitous actions of AZ GOP Chairman Robert Graham who failed to substantively respond to the resolutions that were overwhelmingly passed by elected state delegates at the January 2014 and 2015 AZ GOP Statutory Meetings.

Instead of being voted on at the April 18, 2015 executive committee meeting, state chairman Robert Graham, carrying McCain’s water, shut out Precinct Committeemen and scrapped the issue opposed by…..John McCain.

17 Responses to Behind the scenes: Robert Graham’s exclusive Exec. Meeting

  1. Longtime GOP PC says:

Robert Graham is a slick snake oil salesman, who obviously doesn’t care about facts as he made this presentation. He knows all too well that elected committeemen have never been shut out of this meeting, tho they could not vote and attended as observers.
Notice how often he makes a statement and then follows it up with “Right?” and “Okay?” as if to give credibility to what he’s saying as he agrees with himself. Robert Graham speaks AND provides his own approving echo chamber. This is the sure sign of someone who is a practiced phony.

  2. Pima Pal says:

Lots to read and digest here, but you can bet I’ll make the time to do it today! We conservatives are being screwed without a kiss by the elite clique running our state GOP.

    • azgary says:

pretty big clique, Robbie mcgraham was overwhelmingly reelected, and he and McCain is what type largely make up the republican party in az,

true conservatives need to abandon the party and vote against it for the most part as against democrats

  3. CD 8 PC says:

The only reason Graham wants to “keep it within the family” while excluding Republican “family” PCs is because they are the conservatives who strongly supported the resolution for closing our GOP primaries. McCain opposes closed primaries because he needs liberal crossover votes to stay in office. Graham is so busy doing McCain’s bidding that he has no difficulty insulting us. This swindler should be recalled, impeached or taken out by whatever legal means we have to remove him. I say that as one who was duped and voted for him

  4. Arizona Conservative Guy says:

Ever heard of the magician’s trick known as “misdirection?” It’s clearly a tactic mastered by Robert Graham. As longtime elected PCs and State Committeemen, my wife and I wanted to attend this meeting. When I found out Graham had locked us out, I wished to be a “fly on the wall” observer. Instead we were relegated to standing outside, demeaned by this arrogant McCain crony. This excellent opportunity to read the transcript provides us all the opportunity to realize what we are up against with the McEstablishment who have a death grip on our Republican party. Thanks to Seeing Red AZ for this link and especially to the folks at Arizona Freedom Alliance for making it available. This opportunity to “see” Robert McSlickster in action is very much appreciated.

  5. Enuff says:

What a joke. Graham says he wants to “stay on the agenda” when in fact he skirts the most prominent issue, CLOSING THE REPUBLICAN PRIMARY TO OUTSIDERS!!!! This crucial item had broad support when it passed at the state meeting. But because McCain wants what we don’t, Graham bows to McCain’s wishes. We’ve been scammed again folks!

  6. East Valley Conservative says:

I was in attendance at the January 2015 MCRC Statutory Meeting and took notes.  The resolution to close our Republican Primary Election passed by a vote of 1,225 to 596. There is nothing insignificant about that margin. We spoke loud and clear. The fact that Robert Graham chooses to ignore our voices in favor of listening to John McCain is insulting.

    • azgary says:

it makes no difference when you elect people like graham, just as McCain/flake/the az5 etc…. ignore what their electorate wants so does the party leadership, it was written on the wall before mcgraham was overwhelmingly reelected, just like McCain but people still elected them, and then foolishly complain.

and will continue to do so.

it would be funny if it wasn’t so sad

    • Doc says:

The fact that mcGraham-cracker ignores the will of the elected PC’s should be no surprise. When’s the last time his master mcTraitor DIDN’T ignore what those who (re) elected him?

  7. Aaron Borders says:

I want to make a simple observation, every time I post on this site I use my name. I always thought that by hiding behind an alias is what what cowardly Democrats do. For those who keep having nicknames and false names on your post, you would add more validity and credibility to your post if you identifed yourself. Just a thought and this is true for both sides of ANY discussion.

    • azgary says:

sure and let McCain and his apparatus target more pc’s as he recently did, purging them from the ranks or maybe put the irs after the same people?

      yeah right

only the powerful use weaponized govt or lobbyist dollars, the rest of us cannot

      • Orion says:

Excellent point! Far too many of us have witnessed the conservative “cleansing” of our precincts and legislative districts by Team McCain operatives. SRAZ has given patriotic commenters much need cover.

      • Doc says:

Upto & including mcTraitor “goin’ along” with th’ eye-are-ess targeting conservatives.

    • MacBeth says:

Apparently it hasn’t occurred to you that there are many people who post here whose livelihood would be jeopardized for identifying themselves and their political views publicly. Obviously you aren’t one of them, but riding a high and mighty horse because you chose to post with your name makes you no better than any one else. Calling others you don’t know “cowardly” or comparing them to “Democrats” is beyond immature.

You offered a “simple observation.” Here is mine: Your spelling leaves a lot to be desired. In your short comment, you misspelled “identified” and duplicated the word “what.” On your website you even left the “e’ off George H. W. Bush’s name and omitted the periods after his initials along with many grammatical errors. You misspelled “Party,” “campaign” and organization” on your Introduction Page. I’d be embarrassed to sign my name to that as a candidate, yet you did.

  8. Braveheart says:

I sincerely thank the person who recorded and transcribed this portion of the GOP executive meeting and the Arizona Freedom Alliance for making it available. Thanks, too, to SRAZ for providing the link. I come here daily and would have missed it otherwise. Good job all around.

  9. SmallGovt. says:

Right, lots there and he runs a poor meeting. Why is a complete and accurate transcript not a requirement of every Party meeting?

One comment made is “Disappearing Democrats” will become Disappearing Republicans if there is not some change.

  10. Tempe state committeeman says:

Aaron, so far, other than your bad spelling and calling out our nick names what have you said of worth, not much. Not even admitting your connection to the Vietnamese that invaded
our state meeting with your help, what say you on that one??
