Parent alert: The Feds want your kids 24/7

Public boarding schools on Obama regime’s agenda

It was not even a dozen years ago that apprehensive Arizona parents balked at what was being pushed as “Full Day Kindergarten” by leftist Gov. Janet Napolitano. It was put into effect in 2004 despite objections to the governmental overreach subjecting preschoolers to institutionalization and liberal indoctrination when they were barely out of diapers.

Many parents opted out.

Fast forward as the educrats have even more insidious schemes in mind for America’s children. Federal Education Secretary Arne Duncan on Tuesday proposed the idea of public boarding schools open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

“One idea that I threw out is the idea of public boarding schools,” Duncan said at the National Summit on Youth Violence Prevention in Crystal City, Va. “That’s a little bit of a different idea —- a controversial idea —- but the question is do we have some children where there’s not a mom, there’s not a dad, there’s not a grandma, there’s just nobody at home?”

Does Duncan mean ever? Or are these parents or other relatives simply at work when the kids arrive home from school?  We all know not all home situations are ideal, but less ideal are governmental communes.

“There’s just certain kids we should have 24/7 to really create a safe environment and give them a chance to be successful,” Arne Duncan continued. “I think all of our schools should be community centers,” he said. “Our schools should be open 12, 13, 14 hours a day with a wide variety of after-school programming.

Pay attention. We are witnessing the incremental encroachment of the benevolent dictatorship which author Aldous Huxley prophetically envisioned in 1932 in his literary masterpiece, “Brave New World.”  No longer fictional, it’s being brought to us nearly 85 years later by the Obama administration. This book was once required reading in high school English classes. It needs to be brought back.

Not a peep about this from AZ Education Superintendent Diane Douglas. She must be awfully busy on her ”listening tour.” That keeps her from having to open her mouth and put her foot in it. I bought her anti-Common Core line and she’s disappointed on that and caved on the LaRaza studies program here in Tucson Unified School District. Fooled again by another duper wearing an “R“.

Unfortunately many in the GOP fell on their swords for Gov. Ducey and both HB2184 & SB1469 to give the Board of Education total control and remember their appointed by the Gov. My concern is now according to the summary page when describing intent of SB1469 would be made a full blown Agency, so we now have bigger gov. and all appointed by a Gov. who believes giving us a Commission to investigate is enough. This is just one more betrayal in the ever growing pile of a group of self serving politicians who only need us to get into office to then stick it to us, you can’t trust Liars and Oath Breakers as both are Evil, but then the Kool Aid is Better of Two Evils. I ask all to check and see who voted for SB1469 and realize these GOP office holders did what they were told by Ducey and didn’t represent US and will run again and one of them is now running for US Senate and has stated that if she really understood what the vote would do, wouldn’t have voted that way, I have a bridge to sell you if you believe that, or if true then shouldn’t be voting or representing any of us, hoping not to offend supporters of any of these Oath Breakers, we need Oath Keepers in Office.
      God Bless You All; Van

Douglas’ paid “brain” Michael Bradley has to tell her how to react. He has to separate himself from his bizarre time traveler Cosplay blog first.

Even though Duncan sounds like a bonafide moron, (“there is just certain kids we should have 24/7” …“whatever me and my team can do…“) his intent is frightening. Listen as he weaves his anti-police rhetoric though his speech. But the most shocking part comes at the 5:39 minute mark where he sets out his plan.

  3. American Dad says:

I found this at the Arizona Department of Education site:

Read the following mission statement carefully. It includes the words “from birth.”

“The mission of the Early Childhood Education (ECE) unit is to provide leadership and support to schools, organizations, educators, families and communities in implementing programs that assist all children from birth through age 8 to become successful lifelong learners.  The ECE unit administers the Head Start State Collaboration grant from the US Department of Health and Human Services to establish linkages among Head Start, childcare, social welfare, health and state funded preschool programs, and K-12 Education.”

American education is in shambles. Liberal union members of the National Education Association, its state affiliates and the American Federation of Teachers spend more time with students than their parents do. The groups donate nearly exclusively to Democrats, they gave massive amounts to Obama and their lobbyists are in Washington supporting congressional liberals who are on the same page, especially when the money flows to them like water.

Yet we continually hear the schools are in need of more money and the teachers are underpaid. Bunk! Their salaries should be tied to performance and they should not be allowed to teach to the tests. According to the Federal Bureau of Labor Statistics, in 2012 the median salary for Kindergarten and Elementary School Teachers was $53,090 per year, not including benefits and a cushy pension plan for a job that gives them summers off and numerous half days and holidays. Since those salaries are based on three year old stats, they have no doubt increased since they were released.
We have relatives in California whose kids are on a four day week schedule..

The Peoria (AZ) School District tried pushing a four day school week through, but were restrained by angry parents.

  5. SmallGovt. says:

She is listening just like Hillary. But she was treated here at SRAZ as the next coming of Margaret Thatcher. She was weak then and weak now. The Governor should be in charge of Education is Arizona and he probably believes he is.

  6. LEO IN TSN says:

I invite all SRAZ people to “stifle thyself” for a moment, sit back and focus – then read what American Dad posted hours ago. Then re-read it and pick it apart. Then realize with trepidation that he got this from the ARIZONA DOE website -yes, ARIZONA.

“provide leadership to schools, organizations, communities” [the global village]
“all children birth through 8” [get them away from the family]
“Head Start grant from US Health & Human Services” [an agency bankrupt of character & morality, determined to destroy the family unit]
“establish linkages among Head Start, childcare, social welfare, health and state funded preschool programs, and K-12 Education.” [all the communist key words & phrases-right out of the Communist Manifesto, and now called Common Core]

Should this scare the Common Core out of normal freedom-loving people???? Should parents and grandparents be outraged??? Is this an issue that needs confrontation??? Should our new governor be forced to honor his oath to protect our Constitution and our kids??? Has this steal-the-kids-tactic been used throughout history by murderous tyrants around the globe???? [Nod “yes”]

“The youth of today is ever the people of tomorrow. For this reason we have set before ourselves the task of inoculating our youth with the spirit of this community of the people at a very early age, at an age when human beings are still unperverted and therefore unspoiled. This Reich stands, and it is building itself up for the future, upon its youth. And this new Reich will give its youth to no one, but will itself take youth and give to youth its own education and its own upbringing.”
    –Adolph Hitler 1937

    God bless America.

  7. Conservative Since Birth says:

This crazed Marxist lunatic wave is coming fast. They’re taking advantage while they can – and education, after health care, is the next stop to government control.

I’ve seen articles going back to 2011 about Jeb Bush traveling around the country with Arne Duncan (and also pictured with Obama on stage) talking about Common Core and education in general.

While McConnell, Boehner, McCain, Flake, et al enable Obama’s agenda, the voters who don’t pay attention are being screwed. The Left never sleeps. Never.

Some of Jeb Bush’s strongest allies on education are Democrats.

    • Clair Van Steenwyk says:

You’re right on all remarks, we also have the same problem here in AZ with those who voted to give authority to the ED Board appointed by the Gov. over the elected Supt. of ED, and this was done mainly by GOP Senators voting for SB 1469, so lets stop it in AZ by removing those who supported this bill and stood with the Ducey Administration against us and the children.

  8. Frankly Speaking says:

The fictionalized future that once entertained us in imaginative books such as Orwell‘s “1984” and Huxley‘s “Brave New World” has become our new reality because too few bother to pay attention. They have allowed themselves to be lulled into complacency by a bombardment of superficial entertainment and the latest technological devices as they let our free society crumble. Our Founders would have been horrified.

  9. Vince says:

Political correctness rules. Pamela Geller is brutalized by conservatives who should know better. When otherwise rational thinkers like Laura Ingraham misplace blame in the name of political correctness, I see a dim future. Bill O’Reilly also sided with Sharia-based radical Islamists over the First Amendment, but I expect less from him.
