Inconsistent ramblings on key issue trouble conservatives

Donald Trump has opened a commanding lead in Republican national presidential polls, sprinting ahead of the crowded GOP field with a 20 percent lead in Thursday’s Quinnipiac survey. His numbers are also soaring in Arizona where the Phoenix-based MBQF Consulting survey reports he holds “a staggering 2 to 1 advantage over his closest opponent.”

Most political observers base Trump’s strong showing on the fact that he gives a voice to the frustrations of Americans who are primed to hear a candidate meaningfully address the deplorable and costly illegal invasion that is flooding  our country unabated. Here in the border state of Arizona, 5.000 people stood in line in searing July temperatures to hear and cheer his message at the packed Phoenix Convention Center.

Now Powerline, a reliably conservative site, runs a provocative post, titled “Trump goes soft on immigration.” In his column John Hinderaker uses Trump’s disturbing quotes from this bizarre CNN interview, which also rates coverage on Breitbart.

To refer to Trump’s views as inconsistent would be generous. In truth his incoherent ramblings appear to be indistinguishable from those of any Democrat as he calls for “legal status,” immediately after saying he would deport all in the United States illegally and then allow the “good ones” to reenter through an “expedited process” and live here legally, though not as citizens.

But, “later down the line, who knows what’s going to happen?” he muses. He clarified that this meant citizenship would be “something I would think about, but I would say right now no. I’m not open to it. I would say legal status.”

When asked what he would do with the so-called DREAMers, Trump responded, “We’re going to do something. I’ve been giving it so much thought, you know you have a….on a humanitarian basis, you have a lot of deep thought going into this, believe me. I actually have a big heart….I mean, a lot of people don’t understand that, but the DREAMers, it’s a tough situation, we’re going to do something, and one of the things we’re going to do is expedite — when somebody’s terrific, we want them back here, but they have to be legally….”

The words “flash in the pan” are beginning to take on new meaning.

AZ GOP Graham misleads, blames; ignites war with LaFaro

In this emailed letter addressed to Republican PCs, Chairmen and Executive Committee Members, AZ GOP Chairman Robert Graham has removed the saber from its scabbard as he proceeds to slash at…. “a former party chairman” defined by Graham as “woefully unsuccessful…” while questioning his “true Republican” commitment.

The bizarre letter, received Wednesday is titled, “Dispelling Rumors.” It should have been titled, “Fancy Footwork by a Clumsy Dancer.”

The fact is Graham has received numerous questions — all of which have gone unanswered — regarding his recent disreputable actions toward the Maricopa County Republican Party which he characterizes as “rumors surrounding the temporary cash assistance we provided to MCRC.” He then makes embarrassingly inept attempts to “provide some insights.”

This is just another of many such shoddy misadventures in which Graham has engaged. Scratching the surface always reveals his links to the McEstablishment in general and John McCain, in particular. A few examples can be found here.

Acknowledging “mistakes” were made, Graham runs for cover behind the skirts of his aged grandmother’s out-of-state birthday celebration, his staffers and his need to be “in DC speaking at a Senate briefing against President Obama’s Iranian deal.” What Robert Graham’s foreign policy or nuclear enrichment expertise is, remains a mystery.

The “former party chairman” Robert Graham alludes to is not nameless — neither is he mute. Unlike Graham, he is a committed conservative named A.J. LaFaro — and he is more than willing to respond. His reply isn’t disjointed and doesn’t ramble, since he has nothing to conceal.

Robert Graham appears to have serious problems. His continued lame attempts and Saul Alinsky tactics to promote himself while falsely attacking conservatives is irrational and divisive – but not unexpected.

The cheap shot he took at me is meaningless, frivolous, baseless and without merit just like the complaint filed by the progressive socialists.The AZGOP Precinct and State Committeemen should remove Robert Graham from office just like John McCain.

Another illegal alien on crime spree kills American

What’s the point of a GOP congressional majority if status quo continues?

Juan Emmanuel Razo, an admitted illegal alien from Mexico, who was detained but released July 7, after a “suspicious vehicle” incident, has repaid the Obama imposed generosity of the border patrol agents — under the direction of Immigration and Border Enforcement (ICE) — who advised the Ohio sheriff’s office not to take him into custody despite his status.

On Monday, Razo, 35, was charged with the murder of a 60-year-old woman in her home, the attempted rape of his 14-year-old niece, and attempted murder in the shooting of a 30-year-old woman who was walking along a bike path with her two children. The murdered woman lived directly behind the bike path. Razo capped off his spree by shooting at law enforcement officers as they attempted to apprehend him.

When taken into custody, he was unable to produce a driver’s license, a green card, a birth certificate or any type of identification.

Frustrated Judge Michael Cicconetti asked loudly, “How in the hell do I even know it’s him?” When Cicconetti heard the list of charges, he stated, “I can’t set a bond high enough” and set it at $10 million.

Prosecutors and sheriff’s deputies stated in court that Razo “gave a full confession to deputies.” A Spanish translator was needed to interpret Razo’s statement.

In 2013, the Center for Immigration Studies reported ICE freed 36,007 convicted criminal aliens from detention who were awaiting the outcome of deportation proceedings. This group included aliens convicted of hundreds of violent and serious crimes, including homicide, sexual assault, kidnapping, and aggravated assault. The list of crimes also includes more than 16,000 drunk or drugged driving convictions. In the intervening years, Obama’s policies have become even more lenient, and the serious problem has worsened.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Donald Trump, the only presidential candidate to focus on the criminal invasion, has surged in recent polls.

A new CNN survey shows a wide majority — 64% of Republicans prefer securing the border and deportation of illegals over legalization.

Newmax’ J.D. Hayworth exposes Jeb Bush’s slippery Spanish/English double-talk on illegal immigration. The Bush spin on Spanish language Telemundo provides English subtitles. Hayworth points out the differences in Bush’s comments depending on the language he uses.

Meanwhile we get this type of limp-wrested, unenforceable lip service from three Arizona Congressmen, adept at skewing the facts and slathering on a thick layer of what many of us know as horse pucky.

Robert Graham asks Republicans to work for…pancakes

After vindictively pulling the plug on the new Maricopa County Republican headquarters, AZ GOP Chairman Robert Graham is sprucing up the state party digs. 

In a “Quick favor” email addressed to “Fellow Republicans,” comes this gem:

We need help with some early morning landscaping at the 24th St headquarters this Saturday (Aug 1). We’ve already painted the building and put up new signage but have a lot of gravel to spread and some holes to dig for new plants. We’ll get started at 6 am and have some pancakes when we’re done. We’ll have extra yard tools but if you have a rake or shovel please bring them.

Given Graham’s recent underhanded dealings with the Maricopa County GOP, it’s doubtful many hardworking conservatives, who have felt the back of his hand far too often, will be volunteering their time.

Graham’s been spreading a lot more than gravel lately and digging holes in the party infrastructure big enough to drive John McCain’s infamous “Straight Talk” Express through.

AZ Republic boorishly calls Phx election a month early

Mayor, City Council Districts 1, 4, 5 and 7, and four Propositions will be on the ballot

If you’re one of the few remaining readers of the Arizona Republic, you might have felt a bit like Rip Van Winkle Sunday morning. Although the Phoenix City Election is scheduled for Aug. 25, the newspaper has already called the mayoral race in a presumptuous editorial titled, “Stanton’s second act.”  When he was elected in 2011, Greg Stanton received a joint congratulatory call from Barack Obama and Janet Napolitano.

The newspaper dismisses 2016 challengers as “unknown,” finding them not worthy of mention in the lengthy opinion piece. We support Anna Brennan, who clearly has an uphill battle —-  as did conservative Prof. David Brat who toppled House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, after being outspent $5.7 million to $231,000.

Although the mayor and council purport to be politically unaffiliated, it’s a foolish guise. Even the leftwing newspaper referred to Greg Stanton as a “progressive,“ the preferred terminology of liberals trying to sound forward thinking. The editorial was notable for admitting  “he was lifted to office on the shoulders of public sector labor unions, especially police and fire.” The editorial bemoans what it references in these words, “Stanton has been afforded few opportunities to reward his political benefactors.”

There are countless problems that affect Phoenix. First and foremost, Stanton presides over a Sanctuary City. The Republic gives him accolades in this bizarre manner, “If this mayor is famous for nothing else, it is his efforts to refashion Phoenix as a walkable town.” Seriously.

It’s not by accident that liberals like Greg Stanton get elected in the nation’s sixth largest city in a red state. Voter turnout is notoriously low during August in Phoenix. Many residents have not yet returned from their summer vacations, contributing to the often 20+ percent participation. The solid voting blocs are those reliable unions who “lifted him on their shoulders“: police, fire fighters and unionized teachers. Stir into that mix other City of Phoenix employees, and the outcome becomes obvious as special interest groups disproportionately influence the vote to the left.

General participation would be greater and the costs lowered if city elections were consolidated with state and federal elections rather than off-year stand-alones. Keeping them as they are is doubtless part of the status quo strategy.

Americans for Prosperity answers the questions and exposes the fallacies about Arizona ballot Proposition 104. SRAZ urges a NO vote against doubling the city transit tax over 35 years and spending over $31 billion on the unaccountable light rail expansion. Notice all of the campaign signs in support and none in opposition?  That alone tells who has the money and benefits from the expansion. The Arizona Free Enterprise Club recently released its study on the Phoenix Transit Plan Tax Hike.

Take time to arm yourself with the facts. Prop. 104 deserves a NO vote. Find your City Council District here.

That Robert Graham!  The McEstablishment toady never seems to run out of clever ideas in his quest to attract new people to the Arizona Republican Party.  

In a post titled, “AZ GOP’s Robert Graham’s spiteful retribution,” SRAZ recently reported on his slippery deeds against the Maricopa County GOP, stopping payment on the rent for the Tempe office, within days after the ribbon-cutting grand opening. So committed is he to winning elections, Graham engaged in this trickery as the 2016 campaign season gets underway, and the city early ballots are hitting Valley mailboxes. And in a display of exquisite propriety, Graham neglected to notify either Maricopa County Republican Chairman Tyler Bowyer or Treasurer David Ludwig of his dastardly deed.

Now comes another first-rate idea. Graham promises to leave Republican activists alone — for a price.  For an $8.25 monthly deduction from your credit card, or a one-time donation of $99 to the Redroots Club, members are promised “the perks” of not receiving fundraising letters or phone solicitations from the AZGOP. Additionally he throws in the hook of 50% off all AZGOP events

There is even a mechanism for supporting your county. Given the dirty trick Graham pulled on Maricopa County’s Republican office, officers, and conservative base, our suggestion is to fill up the coffers with donations for Maricopa County Republican Party. It’s a good bet Graham’s deep pocket pals at the Chamber of Commerce will keep the state party’s doors open and the air conditioning humming.  

There is a catch. If you sign up, you’ll still have to endure a quarterly conference call with Chairman Robert Graham and a “special guest.”  If that includes John McCain, Jeff Flake, or Jon Kyl, you might want to request a refund.

Jeff Flake: The lone RINO in Kenya

Many visitors to the East African nation of Kenya travel to safari in the wildlife reserves and observe the lions, elephants, giraffes, leopards, and zebras.

When Barack Obama landed in his father’s homeland of Kenya Friday, he brought with him a large contingent of U.S. House and Senate members — many of them affiliated with the Congressional Black Caucus. Notable among the delegation of 20 lawmakers was Arizona Senator Jeff Flake, a rare breed of RINO.  The rest of the pack accompanying Obama are all Democrats.*

Jeff Flake is a committed amnesty supporter, though not above waffling for political expediency.  He so prides himself in being invited to play basketball with Obama, that he urges other members of congress not to “poke a finger in the president’s eye,” by rejecting his illegal executive orders.

Flake’s also perfected the trickery of double-speak, mistakenly thinking the deception he engages in 3,000 miles away from Arizona stays in D.C.  The League of Conservative Voters was concerned enough about Jeff Flake to engage in an ad campaign against him in 2012. This is the press release detailing the “risks of sending former uranium mining lobbyist Jeff Flake to the Senate.” 

Flake’s lobbyist past in South Africa probably went far in earning him the heady position of sole Republican selected to accompany Obama to Africa. Then again, it’s doubtful a conservative would have had the desire to travel with Obama. 

In the early 1990’s Jeff Flake worked as a Washington lobbyist for Rossing Uranium — one of the world’s largest suppliers of the nuclear fuel. He was registered as a foreign agent representing the company which operates a mine in Namibia.  Flake earned between $5,000 and $7,000 per month opening doors in the nation’s capital and promoting the firm with financial ties to Iran. Now Obama is inconceivably concocting a nuclear deal with Iran that imperils the free world.

Although the Kenyan people are rejoicing at what they call Barack Obama’s “homecoming,” and are ecstatic over the more than $1 billion in new commitments from the U.S., he’s not winning praise from Kenyan Deputy President William Ruto. After vowing to raise the issue of “gender equality” on his trip to Africa, Ruto admonished against it, declaring Kenya is a “God-fearing nation and we will be firm on what is right.”

From the ICYMI Department:  Tucson’s conservative News & Talk 104.1 KQTH radio host James T. Harris interviewed former Maricopa County Chairman A.J. LaFaro regarding the boorish actions of Arizona Republican Chairman Robert Graham.

Unbelievably, Graham stopped payment on the rent check for the Maricopa County office that just opened July 13 in Tempe. County GOP officials were notified of Graham’s reprehensible action by the bank. The usually brash Graham went uncharacteristically mute, giving no prior notice of his inconceivable actions to either current Maricopa County Republican Chairman Tyler Bowyer or County GOP Treasurer David Ludwig.

Graham, a committed McCain and establishment ally was obviously engaging in political retribution against Bowyer, who hosted and appeared onstage with Donald Trump during his Phoenix appearance. The July 11, event drew 5,000 attendees, people later marginalized by John McCain as “crazies.”*

* When interviewed by Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly Thursday evening, McCain was asked about his characterization of conservatives as “crazies.” The slippery McCain chuckled and said he was merely “joking.” Unfortunately, O’Reilly let the deceptive McCain off the hook without any further prodding. Arizonans are more attuned. McCain, known for brandishing insults and his salty tongue, brushed off his derogatory depiction of conservatives claiming it was made in jest while dismissing the term “crazies” as a warm tribute. “I have town hall meetings all over Arizona. A guy stands up and tells me I’m crazy, I view it as a term of endearment,” McCain said.

Obama expands executive action for illegals

When is enough, enough?

The job of Secretary of Homeland Security, Jeh Johnson, is well-defined, his duties unambiguous. The office is entrusted to guard America against terrorism; ensure our nation’s border is secure; enforce our immigration laws; have national readiness programs in place to respond to, and recover from, disasters. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is also under the purview of the sprawling department.

Since it was established in 2002, our security has lessened and our sovereign border has become meaningless. We repeatedly hear our generous legal immigration system referred to as “broken.”

Watch this recent appearance of Jeh Johnson before a congressional committee. It won’t take long to realize that his disconnect on the criminality associated with illegal immigration is mind-boggling. The safety and security of American citizens obviously are less important than keeping the floodgates to Mexico and other third world countries swung wide.

Now we learn that the Obama administration is moving forward with plans to further expand a waiver program that will allow additional illegal aliens to remain in the United States rather than face deportation or be required to apply for legal status from their native countries. But that’s not the half of it.  Obama’s generosity is boundless.

To facilitate this twisted scheme, the Department of Homeland Security issued this proposed rule earlier this week intended to implement changes to a waiver program instituted under Barack Obama’s executive action on illegal immigration in 2013. The action, which bypassed congress, created a waiver allowing foreign nationals illegally residing in the U.S. to facilitate the entry of a spouse,  children — including their spouses and their children, parents, siblings, or even fiancés, circumventing the normal immigration process if they claim their absence would create an “extreme hardship.”

Family Reunification or Chain Migration  is a means of bringing each illegal alien’s entire clan into the United States.  Center for Immigration Studies is a good resource. The organization has been addressing this issue and its many ramifications for years.

In 2008, when then-candidate Barack Obama vowed to “fundamentally transform America,” the foolish crowds cheered,  He is fulfilling that promise by transforming Americans themselves, into a less white, uneducated, impoverished populace who have no attachment to our history, language or laws. And of greatest importance to Barack Obama, they will be a permanent Democrat voting bloc.

Currently the U.S. issues over 1 million new green cards every year, resulting in approximately 42 million immigrants. Roughly 13% of our population is now foreign-born, up from 4.7% in 1970.  States such as New York, California, New Jersey, and Florida are comprised of 20% or more foreign-born, with California checking in at 27%. These numbers are from 2012. Even without any mass immigration bill, the foreign-born population is expected to rise to 60 million within ten years, according to a congressional report.  A record 1 in 5 U.S. residents speak a language other than English at home. 

That number includes presidential candidate Jeb Bush. “Our grandkids, almost all of them speak Spanish, two of them also speak a little Arabic,” the former Florida governor added, during this Spanish language interview.

In a clear case of intra-party punishment aimed at Maricopa County Republican Chairman Tyler Bowyer for having the audacity to buck AZGOP Chairman Robert Graham and his McCain-led establishment allies, comes this inexcusable retaliation. Bowyer hosted and appeared onstage at the July 11, 2015 Phoenix event featuring presidential candidate Donald Trump. That kind of independence doesn’t play well with those who want to dominate the party and, like John McCain, consider the conservative base “crazies.”

Arizona Republican Party Chairman Robert Graham has stopped payment on the rental check for the Republicans of Maricopa County office that opened July 13 in Tempe.

MCRC Chairman Tyler Bowyer confirms reports that the MCRC received notification of the ‘stop payment’ from the bank last week. AZGOP never notified Bowyer, nor the MCRC Treasurer of the ‘stop payment.’  MCRC Treasurer David Ludwig messaged the AZGOP upon receiving notification from the bank, however, the AZGOP has not responded.

“We are still in shock that Robert (Graham) would commit to funding the office through 2016 and suddenly pull the funding,” said Bowyer.

When Briefs contacted Graham Monday afternoon (July 20), regarding reports of the ‘stopped payment’, Graham cunningly responded, “It appears that Maricopa County is doing well.  I thought it was appropriate and wise to hold back funds and allocate the resources based on need.  With 14 other counties we have some large battles potentially in CD 1 and CD 2 not to mention our goal to bring the state house and senate to a greater majority.  We are working to help all the counties in the state with the Redroots program.  It has been my pleasure to help Maricopa get off the ground and into an office and look forward to working with them on Redroots.”

Graham denies reports circulating among GOP leaders that the AZGOP is punishing Bowyer and the MCRC for hosting the Presidential Candidate Donald Trump event a week ago that drew thousands of Republicans in attendance. 

Graham also denied reports that the AZGOP is short on funds. Graham said, “Tyler has not publicly thanked the AZ GOP or its donors for paying the rent.” However, long time party members, who were around several decades ago when Jack London gave the current AZGOP headquarters to the Republican Party, recall that the Maricopa County Republican Party Committee was to have access to quarters within that facility.

“Since the AZGOP removed the MCGOP out a number of years ago, out of the 24th street shared space, it has been up to the AZGOP to compensate for that. Robert seemed to agree, but the sudden move is very strange and unexpected on our end. We have made a serious effort to adopt a teamwork philosophy and this is very disappointing to see. We will continue to work hard on behalf of Precinct Committeemen and find resources to fund the Tempe office,” Bowyer said this evening.

Monday evening Briefs sent these additional questions to Graham:

1. Why did you issue the Tempe rental check and then stop payment on it? Did you notify the county you were stopping payment?  If so, when? And to whom?
2. Why would the county proceed with the ribbon cutting on the new facility last week if they knew AZGOP wasn’t going to pay the rent?
3. Did you also stop payment on the county office in Sun City? 
4. How many county offices (throughout the state) is the AZGOP paying the rent on?  Have they also been cut off?
5. Were you directed to stop that Tempe facility check because Maricopa County hosted Trump? trump-shunned-arizona-gop-establishment-phoenix-visit 
6. Why didn’t the AZGOP host Trump?
7. Will the AZGOP be hosting any of the Republican presidential candidates when/if they come to AZ?
8. Or is this something the county needs to be prepared to handle in the future?

Graham flippantly responded that he was on his way back East for a series of meeting and didn’t have time to answer the questions.
