Emperor Obama’s unilateral gun grab

Do you have difficulty balancing a checkbook? Obama wants your guns

In yet another massive intrusion on the rights of American citizens, Barack Obama is intent on unilaterally restricting the Second Amendment freedoms of certain gun owners who claim the Social Security benefits they paid for during their working years.

Currently about 4.2 million adults receiving monthly benefits have “representative payees” handle their banking and bill paying for them. Turning those duties over to a trusted family member or friend should not entail the loss of Constitutional rights.

Not only would this amount to the largest gun grab in American history, but according to this Fox News report, the governmental infringement would take place without any due process protections for recipients, amounting to a nullification of Second Amendment rights for millions of Americans who don’t pose a threat to themselves or anyone else.

The Social Security Administration (SSA), which has never taken part in the background check system, provides advice and a phone number for turning in people who raise “concerns.” The government site even provides a “webinar” to educate “payees who serve multiple beneficiaries.”

The Veterans Administration has already implemented a similar program to designate veterans as “prohibited persons” when they have a fiduciary assigned to administer their VA benefits. Already, 177,000 vets have been swept into the National Instant Criminal Background Check System  through the overreach of bureaucratic tentacles.

Like the Social Security program, the VA procedures are also devoid of significant due process protections or any requirement that the beneficiary be found a danger to self or others

The National Rifle Association correctly assesses, “The implications of this policy are too far-reaching to fathom at present. Social Security is one of the more prolific and relied upon Federal programs in American history. That Obama’s directive could so easily be implemented within the SSA suggests that bureaucrats could effectively cloak such a program in any agency within the growing leviathan that is the federal government.”

Call your members of congress and demand that Obama’s unprecedented and unilateral attempt to implement the largest gun grab in American history be stopped.

How interesting that Obama views people as incompetent to continue to possess their own firearms, but not too incompetent to vote. Will he next deem Republicans unworthy of receiving a ballot? For a man who supposedly lectured on Constitutional law, he lacks any knowledge of what the document says.

  2. Tucson Voter says:

My hearing is no longer as keen as it was, so my wife goes to the bank and speaks with the tellers who are behind a thick sheet of glass and difficult for me to understand. Does that make me incapable of owning the guns I’ve had for years?

  3. East Valley Conservative says:

You got it right in referring to Obama as an “Emperor.” I didn’t vote for him either time, but had hopes he would rise to the duties of the presidency. Instead, he has been the worst political disappointment in my lifetime. I had categorized Jimmy Carter in that position until Obama came along and did his best to turn America on its head.

He has gutted our liberties, bowed to Muslim rulers, and consorted with Communist despots. Barack Obama has colluded against the security of the United States and Israel by allowing nuclear enrichment capabilities for Iranian lunatics even as they shout, “Death to American!” during negotiations.

He has done more to harm race relations in the U.S. than anyone in my lifetime. He has also elevated criminal illegals infiltrating our country and bussed them to populate the entire nation from coast to coast while providing them countless taxpayer funded benefits, in the hope they will become a mammoth and permanent Democrat voting bloc.

  4. American Dad says:

Now that Obama’s final term is winding down, he obviously feels no constraints in implementing atrocious anti-American policies. He has the federal government stacked with his like-thinking appointees, such as Attorney General Loretta Lynch (and before her Eric Holder) who will give him free rein. He has appointed far left judges to the federal benches who will ultimately conclude he is correct as he guts our freedoms.

If you did not hear Mark Levin’s radio show tonight (Tuesday, July 21), you might want to listen to a 16 minute segment which is posted over at therightscoop.com

    Sobering. Very sobering.

  6. MacBeth says:

Call my member of congress? Surely you jest? MY member of congress and YOURS are too consumed with getting themselves reelected to care about anything else. We get plenty of lip service when we call from staffers reading scripted lines, but the real name of the game is getting through the next election so they can dish out more lip service.

Arizona Republican Party Chairman Robert Graham has stopped payment on the rental check for the Republicans of Maricopa County office that opened July 13 in Tempe.

MCRC Chairman Tyler Bowyer confirms reports that the MCRC received notification of the ‘stop payment’ from the bank last week. AZGOP never notified Bowyer, nor the MCRC Treasurer of the ‘stop payment.’ MCRC Treasurer David Ludwig messaged the AZGOP upon receiving notification from the bank, however, the AZGOP has not responded.

“We are still in shock that Robert (Graham) would commit to funding the office through 2016 and suddenly pull the funding,” said Bowyer.

When Briefs contacted Graham Monday afternoon (July 20), regarding reports of the ‘stopped payment’, Graham responded, “It appears that Maricopa County is doing well. I thought it was appropriate and wise to hold back funds and allocate the resources based on need. With 14 other counties we have some large battles potentially in CD 1 and CD 2 not to mention our goal to bring the state house and senate to a greater majority. We are working to help all the counties in the state with the Redroots program. It has been my pleasure to help Maricopa get off the ground and into an office and look forward to working with them on Redroots.”

Graham denies reports circulating among GOP leaders that the AZGOP is punishing Bowyer and the MCRC for hosting the Presidential Candidate Donald Trump event a week ago that drew thousands of Republicans in attendance.

Graham also denied reports that the AZGOP is short on funds.

Graham said, “Tyler has not publicly thanked the AZ GOP or its donors for paying the rent.” However, long time party members, who were around several decades ago when Jack London gave the current AZGOP headquarters to the Republican Party, recall that the Maricopa County Republican Party Committee was to have access to quarters within that facility.

“Since the AZGOP removed the MCGOP out a number of years ago out of the 24th street shared space, it has been up to the AZGOP to compensate for that. Robert seemed to agree, but the sudden move is very strange and unexpected on our end. We have made a serious effort to adopt a teamwork philosophy and this is very disappointing to see. We will continue to work hard on behalf of Precinct Committeemen and find resources to fund the Tempe office,” Bowyer said this evening.

Monday evening Briefs sent these additional questions to Graham:

    1. Why did you issue the Tempe rental check and then stop payment on it? Did you notify the county you were stopping payment? If so, when? And to whom?

    2. Why would the county proceed with the ribbon cutting on the new facility last week if they knew AZGOP wasn’t going to pay the rent?

    3. Did you also stop payment on the county office in Sun City?

    4. How many county offices (throughout the state) is the AZGOP paying the rent on? Have they also been cut off?

    5. Were you directed to stop that Tempe facility check because Maricopa County hosted Trump? trump-shunned-arizona-gop-establishment-phoenix-visit

    6. Why didn’t the AZGOP host Trump?

    7. Will the AZGOP be hosting any of the Republican presidential candidates when/if they come to AZ?

    8. Or is this something the county needs to be prepared to handle in the future?

Graham responded that he was on his way back East for a series of meeting and didn’t have time to answer the questions.

    • Conservative Since Birth says:

This has the stench of McStench, micromanaging the AZGOP and McGraham.

    • Seeing Red AZ says:

Thank you for posting this important information. This is clearly punishment being meted out to Maricopa County Republican Chairman Tyler Bowyer for having the temerity to buck state chair Robert Graham and his McCain-led establishment allies. Bowyer appeared onstage at the Phoenix event featuring Donald Trump. That kind of independence doesn’t play with those who want to dominate the party and, like John McCain, consider the conservative base “crazies.”

We have taken the liberty of using bold face type for your comment. It needs to be seen.

I have been posting this in various places like breitbart and sent “tips” to breitbart and drudge( probably no chance of being picked up, but you never know) all with links to your article and about this as well as frosty’s.
this would be nice stuff to get national attention.
graham is a perfect example of what is so wrong with the party
