Phx election today! Don’t let the left decide our fate

August 25, 2015

Judging by the large number of searches for information on the 2015 City of Phoenix election we‘ve received, we’re reposting a link to Phoenix Councilman urges “No” vote on ALL Props — which provides an overview of the ballot Propositions. We also direct your attention to Phoenix election: Vote NO on Props, YES for Brennan. Don’t be fooled by the $ multimillion campaign being waged in support of Prop. 104 by liberal political insiders, the Chamber of Commerce cadre and unionists who would benefit from the passage of this monstrosity.

Americans for Prosperity answers the questions and exposes the fallacies about Arizona ballot Proposition 104. SRAZ urges a NO vote against doubling the city transit tax over 35 years and spending over $31 billion on the unaccountable light rail expansion. Notice all of the professional campaign signs in support and the home made ones opposition?  That alone tells who has the money and benefits from the massive extension of the essentially rider-less light rail. The Arizona Free Enterprise Club recently released its study on the Phoenix Transit Plan Tax Hike, which debunks many of the claims made by the tax increase proponents.

Special polling places are open 6 a.m. until 7 p.m. today, Tuesday, Aug. 25 (Election Day). Any registered city voter residing in Phoenix can use any one of the 29 voting centers to cast a ballot. Additional questions? Call: 602-262-6837.

The unions and liberal special interests have voted their early ballots. We need to make getting our own voices heard a priority in this vitally important election. If you haven’t already voted, make it a point to do so today. There will be no do-overs.

Dems to enlist Pope on illegals, voter base expansion

August 24, 2015

Breitbart News carries an intriguing report on the less-than-devout Catholic Democrats in the U.S. Congress who are now looking to Pope Francis for aid in expanding their political base by increasing illegal immigration.

In a first, the Pope is scheduled to address Congress on Sept. 24. He intends to follow that by meeting with a group of Hispanic illegals. Liberal lawmakers hope his advocacy will inspire their colleagues and constituents.

Last year, Francis called the calculated flood of Central American children crossing the border into the U.S. a “humanitarian emergency.” In a June encyclical where he delved into the issue of climate change using the left‘s talking points, Francis cited the “tragic rise” of immigrants fleeing poverty.

The Pope is clearly opposed to capitalism. Earlier this year, using his closest adviser Cardinal Oscar Rodriguez Maradiaga, as his spokesman, he issued this statement: “The ideology surrounding environmental issues is too tied to a capitalism that doesn’t want to stop ruining the environment because they don’t want to give up their profits.”

In May we posted Pope Francis embraces leftist doctrines, in which we noted Francis sounded a lot like Karl Marx, as he called on governments to redistribute wealth and benefits to the poor to help curb an “economy of exclusion.” That was followed by  Pope Francis: “Global Political Authority” needed to tackle climate change. His provocative mastery of Marxist, anti-capitalist buzzwords is disturbing, with redistribution of wealth one of his frequent themes. Yet he does not deny himself the latest technology as he travels the globe like a jetsetter, frequently tweets and even takes selfies. Last year his tweet, “inequality is the root of social evil,” set off a heated debate in which he was  criticized for increasingly driving a wedge between conservatives and the Catholic Church. Francis previously blasted ‘trickle-down’ economics, a basic tenet of President Reagan’s economic policy as a “crude and naive” theory.

Francis clearly relishes promoting radical political positions. The Blaze reported Vatican Officially Recognizes ‘State of Palestine’ in New Treaty, observing he shifted to referring to PLO leader Mahmoud Abbas as the president of the “state of Palestine,” giving authenticity to those who are sworn to the annihilation of Israel.

The Institute for Works of Religion, often referred to as the ‘Vatican Bank’ manages $8 billion of the church’s worldwide wealth, and investments, as well as 33,000 accounts for clergy and parishes, held in Euros. This is in addition to priceless High Renaissance art collections on display as well as in vast underground storage facilities.

Pope Francis has written, “Migrants and refugees are not pawns on the chessboard of humanity and should be accorded ‘their human dignity’ in the countries where they reside.”

Kevin Appleby, policy director on migration for the pro-amnesty U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops in Washington, D.C., said: “What we do know from his record is that it’s an issue close to his heart” and “one of the issues central to his papacy.”

Rather than lecturing the United States, the time is ripe for this political Pope to put his mouth where his money is on his central issue and swing open the doors of Vatican City to accommodate and respect the “human dignity” of the hundreds of thousands of impoverished, uneducated and unwilling to assimilate, North African Muslims fleeing Libya in an effort to reach Italy. Their plight should also qualify as a “humanitarian emergency” demanding immediate action.

Thousands unite to protest Planned Parenthood

August 23, 2015

Nationwide protests against Planned Parenthood were held Saturday in the wake of the release of vile videos showing PP executives coolly haggling over prices in the calculated harvesting and sale of pre-born baby body parts. Pro-Life activists demonstrated at a reported 320 clinics across the country.

In Phoenix hundreds of protestors heard Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery, U.S. Reps. Trent Franks and David Schweikert as well as AZ GOP Chairman Robert Graham speak out against the gruesome practices that are funded by tax dollars funneled to the abortion mills of Planned Parenthood by the federal government. Protests took place in several other Valley cities, including Chandler, Tempe and Glendale.

“We call on Congress to end federal funding for Planned Parenthood,” declared Montgomery.

CNS News, citing numbers from Planned Parenthood’s Annual Report, reports PP’s net revenue increased 5% to a total of $1.21 Billion in its organizational fiscal year ending on June 30, 2013. About 45% of that revenue —- $540.6 million —- was provided by taxpayer-funded government ‘health services” grants. Breitbart News’ “Planned Parenthood Annual Report: All About Abortions and Profits,” contains updated 2014 information.

Although Planned Parenthood is the nation’s largest abortion provider, it cloaks itself as a women’s health care organization.

Seeing Red AZ posted “Planned Parenthood’s gruesome realities in mid-July, revealing the death industry’s deeply embedded roots in Arizona.

The Center for Medical Progress, which released the Planned Parenthood exposés, is to be commended for bringing the macabre truths of this monstrous industry to light via these videos.

It’s past time for the taxpayer-funded money spigot to be turned off.

Donald Trump draws massive crowd in Alabama

August 22, 2015

Trump’s Alabama rally moved to 40,000-seat stadium to accommodate the crowds

Speaking to supporters in Alabama Friday, Trump’s immigration policy including building a wall on the southern border, was endorsed by conservative Alabama Republican Sen. Jeff Sessions who told the crowd, “I’m really impressed with your plan. I know it will make a difference.”

Sessions is a respected voice for, and steadfast supporter of, American workers and national security.

The fact that Trump continues to surge in the presidential polls is the actual barometer of American frustration over the illegal invasion.

Phoenix Councilman urges “No” vote on ALL Props

August 21, 2015

Prop. 104 authorizes recklessly squandering $31.5 BILLION in taxpayer money on boondoggle

As Phoenix residents prepare to cast their ballots in the Aug. 25, 2015 city election, we suggest they read the Guest Commentary written by District 6 Phoenix City Councilman Sal DiCiccio

Printed in the Thursday edition of the East Valley Tribune, DiCiccio’s in-depth review of ballot Propositions 104, 103, 102 and 101 mirrors the conclusions Seeing Red AZ arrived at when assessing them.

Unfortunately, DiCiccio stopped short of endorsing Anna Brennan in the Phoenix Mayor’s race. It should be a no-brainer since current Mayor Greg Stanton supports the Propositions DiCiccio opposes. We are not so reticent. Three weeks ago, on Aug. 3, we headlined our post, “Phoenix election: Vote NO on Props, YES for Brennan.”

This is a crucial election, with far-reaching and exceedingly costly consequences that will double the city transit tax over 35 years and spend $31.5 billion on the unaccountable light rail expansion — which is actually used by less than ONE PERCENT of Phoenix residents. Just EIGHT PERCENT of the money will be allocated for street improvements, although the ubiquitous signs dotting Valley roadways claim the money will address Phoenix streets. The words “light rail” are oddly MIA.

Take control of your future and that of your children and theirs. Authorizing $31.5 billion for over three decades into the future to be spent by unknown and unaccountable people is beyond recklessness.

Those unionists, Chambers of Commerce, ethnic and  gender-based special interest groups plus political insiders who expect such submission from Phoenix voters obviously regard us as fools.

Prove them wrong!

If you have not already mailed in your early ballot, voting centers for this election will be open for three days. Any city voter residing in Phoenix can use any one of the 29 voting centers to cast a ballot.

10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22

9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24

6 a.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25 (Election Day)

Early voting locations for this important election are listed here. Additional questions? Call: 602-262-6837.

The unions and liberal special interests are casting their ballots. We need to make getting our own voices heard a priority in this vitally important election.

Ending birthright citizenship = end to anchor babies

August 20, 2015

The Washington Examiner reports Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s call to end birthright citizenship in the United States “could revive a similar proposal in Congress that has never gained traction despite past support from top leaders.” The article cites Democrat Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, (watch him in linked video) and House Speaker John Boehner, (R-OH), who is all over the map on any given subject on any given day. We can count on them for nothing.

Birthright Citizenship is the automatic granting of citizenship to children born to non-citizens within a nation’s borders or territories. The United States and Canada are now the only developed nations in the world to still offer Birthright Citizenship to tourists and illegal aliens. Those children are known as anchor babies since the birth of one on American soil facilitates “chain migration” or the ability of that infant in diapers, usually supplied by your tax dollars, to act as the conduit to bring in the rest of the extended family. It is a preposterous misinterpretation of the Fourteenth Amendment, which rightly granted citizenship to American-born children of African-born slaves freed after the Civil War.

In recent years the practice has been repealed by the nations of Australia (2007), New Zealand (2005), Ireland (2005), France (1993), India (1987), Malta (1989), UK (1983), and Portugal (1981).

The list “Developed Nations” that disallow the practice can be seen  on NumbersUSA along with the list of “Other Nations” that join in refusing to accept the this surefire means of destroying the unifying heritage of a country. The NumbersUSA website also lists the 2016 presidential candidates who support and oppose ending birthright citizenship. Although the post was just updated there are missing candidates.

Seeing Red AZ has written about the issue and its many incarnations as far back as 2010 with the post Anchor babies and “birth tourism” making the news. and Birth tourism” alive and well in 2012.

Americans are increasingly being told what words they can use to describe the worsening situation. “Illegal alien” is an unkind description of those who thumb their noses at our laws while invading our sovereign nation. By 2011, the New York Times explained the term “anchor baby” has been redefined as a slur.

In 2013, we wrote the amnesty supporting Arizona Republic speaks illegalese, followed by Winston Smith: Alive and well at Associated Press, in which we reported that the AP Stylebook was ditching the term “illegal immigrant” as politically incorrect.

America is not yet the totalitarian regime described in George Orwell’s book, 1984. Redefining language is a calculated tool of the left. Don’t fall in line.

Ben Carson’s Phoenix rally: Record-breaking crowd

August 19, 2015

Anti-Washington fervor thrusts political outsiders Trump, Carson, Fiorina to prominence

Dr. Ben Carson, a faith-based, pro-life, Second Amendment and flat-tax supporting neurosurgeon opposes Obamacare, and told the massive crowd assembled to hear him speak what is entailed in making America healthy again.  He brought his message to an estimated 12,000 attendees who braved the 105° temperatures to hear his message at the Phoenix Convention Center Tuesday. Like the July 11 Trump event, it was moved to the massive venue to accommodate a larger than expected crowd.

The oversized gathering was quite a feat considering the Carson for President campaign lacks a coordinator in Arizona. Like Donald Trump, it used an online invitation service to issue event tickets. In answering audience questions prior to his speech, Carson said his administration’s budget would include “doing whatever was necessary to seal the borders, Southern, Northern, Atlantic and Pacific.”  Unlike Trump, however, he opposes mass deportation as an unworkable plan.

Today Carson embarks on a tour of Arizona’s southern border, a major portal for the flood of illegals, drugs, crime and those with terrorist intent, invading the United States. Carson has scheduled a series of public events throughout his visit.
