“I will not name the shooter. I will not give him the credit he probably sought with this horrific and cowardly act.” — Douglas County Sheriff John Hanlin discussing the massacre
In an act of anti-religious terrorism, a gunman opened fire Thursday morning at Umpqua Community College in the rural community of Roseburg Oregon. An English professor and 8 students were killed and 7 others were wounded, with three listed in critical condition.
According to a on-scene account, “The shooter was lining people up and asking if they were Christian. If they said yes, then they were shot in the head. If they said no, or didn’t answer, they were shot in the legs.”
The local newspaper in the town of under 25,000 carries this report.
Barack Obama hopped on the terrorist assault to advocate for “common sense” gun laws. He neglected to add that this carnage took place on such a gun-free campus that even the single security guard was unarmed.
Like many blue states under Democrat control, Oregon recently tightened its gun regulations, leaving people less able to defend themselves. Not only are the top officers Democrats, but the party controls the state House and Senate.
The violence perpetrated by a craven terrorist should not constrain our Constitutional rights. In 2013, Douglas County Sheriff John Hanlin, a strong Second Amendment advocate, wrote this letter to Vice President Joe Biden: (Click letter to enlarge)
