AZ Gov. Doug Ducey makes proper decision regarding “refugee” resettlement

In the aftermath of the ISIS-led synchronized slaughter of innocents at numerous sites in Paris on Friday, and the recent downing of a Russian commercial airliner, Gov. Doug Ducey has issued this prudent statement regarding the resettlement of unvetted Muslims claiming refugee status in Arizona:

“Given the horrifying events in Paris last week, I am calling for an immediate halt in the placement of any new refugees in Arizona. As governor, I am invoking our state’s right under 8 USC, Section 1522 (a), to receive immediate consultation by federal authorities per the United States Refugee Act, and that the federal government take into account the concerns and recommendations of the state of Arizona as they are required to under federal law, in our efforts to keep our homeland safe. I also call on Congress and the President to immediately amend federal law to provide states greater oversight and authority in the administration of the placement of refugees. These acts serve as a reminder that the world remains at war with radical Islamic terrorists. Our national leaders must react with the urgency and leadership that every American expects to protect our citizens.”

With Ducey’s announcement, Arizona joins a growing list of states that have rejected the relocation of middle easterners claiming refugee status: Alabama  Arkansas, Georgia, Florida, Idaho, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Wisconsin have all announced their intentions to opt out.

Despite a  new  ISIS released video vowing an attack on Washington, D.C,  Barack Obama, speaking in Turkey, said that “the United States has to step up and do its part.”  Obama plans to resettle 10,000 Syrian refugees now, with thousands more to come.

Some Democrat governors also voiced support for the “refugees.”  Washington Gov. Jay Inslee said his state ‘“will continue to welcome those seeking refuge from persecution, regardless of where they come from or the religion they practice.” Democrat Govs. Tom Wolf of Pennsylvania and Dannel P. Malloy of Connecticut also said their states will have open door policies. New Hampshire Gov. Maggie Hassan, a Democrat, joined her Republican colleagues.

U.S. Rep. Lou Barletta, (R-Penn), appealed to Gov. Wolf in a letter urging him to reconsider his position. “’I write to urge you in the strongest terms possible to reconsider your plans to accept the so-called ‘refugees’ fleeing Syria and welcome them to Pennsylvania,” Barletta wrote, noting his position on the House Committee on Homeland Security and suggesting it’s best to wait to accept refugees “until a security apparatus is in place.”

In June, U.S. House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-TX) sent this prophetic letter to Barack Obama and ranking members of the administration, expressing his concerns regarding resettlement of thousands of potential Islamic extremists.

Foolishness is one thing.  Democrats appear to revel in needlessly imperiling American lives.

    O.k….so since dear prezzy & company INSIST that America take in these prospective terrorists, I say round up EVERY SINGLE ONE of ’em that are already here, & load up all the new ones that these morons want us to take in, & let WASHINGTON D.C., & ONLY WASHINGTON D.C., contain them. Let the Sheriffs from every county that th’ feds think they can FORCE to take these “refugees” in stand an ARMED post on th’ highways & roads & say nope…not in my county. Turn those buses around & head on over to 1600 PA. Ave! Dump their butts on th’ front lawn!
    …problem solved. Harsh? Nope. Safe for America? Yep. Let barry & th’ feds deal with ’em ALL!

    …I realize that this’ll never happen…but ya’ gotta’ admit, it’s a pretty good idea, huh?

    • Ajo Joe says:

      Yep! Nice wishful thinking, Doc.

      I fear we’re doomed. Can anyone imagine Democrat Franklin Roosevelt engaging in such insanity bringing in and “resettling” Germans or Japanese who were our sworn enemies during World War II? FDR was a liberal, but he loved America.

  2. Patriot Dad says:

    Apparently outing the mass murderers as Islamic terrorists is more than Barack Obama can take. He and Hillary both refuse to use the words in a sentence. Obama has already said Muslim Syrians take precedence over Christians who want to leave, since he doesn’t think the Christians have shown evidence of oppression. He’s making good on his campaign promise of “fundamentally transforming the United States of America.” The cheering, undereducated sheeple taught by leftwing unionist teachers bought it hook, line and sinker.

  3. azgary says:

    it will be interesting to see if these governors actually do anything if/when the feds try to bring them in, they did nothing about the illegals being bused in not too long ago.

    Jindal and Brownback have actually put out executive orders now for law enforcement to prevent the potential terrorist from coming into their states.

    too bad the governors, including McDucey, wont grow a pair and do something about sanctuary cities in their states, but im sure their Chambers of Commerce owners wont allow that.

    • LD 23 PC says:

      Don’t hold your breath waiting. And you’re right about the Chambers of Commerce. They donate massive amounts to campaigns (city, county, state and federal) across the nation for the sole purpose of owning those elected to public office… who in turn, do their bidding. The Chambers are not benign groups of business professionals. They have a leftwing agenda that definitely includes more imported, cheap labor to undercut American workers. They have no problem with sanctuary cities. We need to educated voters to think of the Chambers as exploiting illegal alien profiteers, which is exactly what they are.

      • azgary says:

        illegals cause FAR MORE harm to American Citizens in this country than terrorist have, and then you also have examples of terrorist who are also illegals, several of the 9/11 terrorist were visa overstays aka illegals.

        According to the GAO over a seven year period illegal aliens MURDERED over TWENTY-FIVE THOUSAND in the United States and committed just under SEVENTY THOUSAND SEX CRIMES, and TWO HUNDRED THIRTEEN THOUSAND ASSAULTS

        and THIS is just the issue of crime and illegals, it doesnt even begin to address the COST of illegals to american citizens financially. every deported family of illegals save the U.S. $700,000.(breitbart) when you add up jobs, depressed wages, schools, hospitals etc… the burden is YUGE

        we also need to consider apportionment of electoral votes and congressmen go by population, not number of citizens, so we are having our votes nullified and national policy chosen by and/or because of illegals.

        there is only ONE candidate who will rid us of illegals Trump, something to consider when deciding on your Presidential choice.

    • Blackbeard says:

      You and I hope for the same things: A secure America with a conservative in the White House. However we deviate on Donald Trump as the panacea. I believe that a vote for Trump guarantees that when ‘Hail to the Chief’ is played, it will be Hillary Clinton stepping into the spotlight.

      Trump has sound bites, but no definitive plan. He’s already said multiple times that he will have a door in the wall (he will make Mexico build) in order to let all the “good ones” back in after deportation. How he accomplishes the roundups and then the re-importations is anyone’s guess. How he determines who’s “good” fits into the unknown category also. What happens to their homes and the contents when they are rounded up, he doesn’t say. Would American taxpayers be on the hook for their looted goods? He also slides over armed resistance to the forced, Nazi-like round-ups. In 1930’s Europe, SS jack booted storm troopers went door-to-door to register the firearms, they came back and confiscated. This prevented targeted people from defending themselves. In the US in the 21st century, Hispanics are very well armed.

      Despite his ‘door in the wall’ rhetoric, this Washington Post/ABC News poll shows that Trump, who bizarrely claims Hispanics “love him” is actually viewed unfavorably by 82% of Hispanics, with 68% feeling “strongly so.” Only 15% viewed Trump favorably.

        more establishment strawmen….only romney, mccain can beat obama.
        Reagan can never win.

        then “scary” nazi references about enforcing the law and protecting american citizens.

        just fess up, you are pro amnesty, anti american citizen and/or support a candidate who is.

        and as far as polls go….

        YouGov National Poll – Donald Trump Continues To Dominate Field With All Demographics….

        Another YouGov National Poll (pdf below) shows Donald Trump leading with every polled demographic.

      • azgary says:

        Then there is this:
        Latest presidential poll shows Donald Trump beating Hillary Clinton in head-to-head contest, Trump taking 70% of the electoral votes

        The latest 2016 presidential poll has Donald Trump destroying Hitlery Clinton in a head-to-head matchup, 375 electoral votes to Hitlery’s 163. That is an astonishing 70% to 30%
        Based on an average of the RCP (Real Clear Politics) polling data from all the states and all the “head to head” matchups between Donald Trump (by far the winner of the GOP) and Hillary Clinton (The winner of the Democratic Party) shows bad news for the Democrats.

        Clinton is losing handily in all the swing states, and is even losing Democrat strongholds of Maryland, Connecticut, and Oregon.

    I received an email from friends in KY furious that John McCain addressed Congess saying that “Obama is not doing enough in bringing in Syrian refugees.” I didn’t see it, but this sounds like the traitor. I wonder if he’d say it on Arizona soil.

    Then there’s this from McCain’s partner in crime:

    Forget Paris: GOP candidate to double funding for Syrian ‘refugees’

  5. Maggie says:

    Democrats refuse to link any atrocities committed by Muslims to their “faith,” but the video that was just released by ISIS (thanks for including the link in this post, SRAZ) clearly states they are doing the work of Allah/God. Islamic terrorists themselves proudly state the words Democrats refuse to utter.

  6. East Valley Conservative says:

    Listen to this interview as committed liberal Democrat Dianne Feinstein lets it slip out that she separates herself from Obama, who has said that “ISIS is on the run,” “ISIS is a JV Team,” “ISIS is under control.”
    Feinstein actually says, “ISIS is NOT under control.” then, of course, she veers back into lockstep saying we need to take these Syrians into the United States for “humanitarian” reasons.

    Humanitarian is protecting our own citizens on our own soil! Wasn’t Sept.11, 2001 lesson enough for these leftist lemmings?

    • azgary says:

      But then there is this:
      Here’s video of Ted Cruz (from his own U-Tube channel) in 2014 specifically advocating for the direct import of additional Syrian refugees. Additionally interesting, when confronted with the concern of terrorist embeds within the refugee population – Senator Ted Cruz was dismissive of the issue saying he was confident we have a way to insure that doesn’t happen:

      Another thing to think about when choosing a Presidential nominee, Trump will not be importing these people and has already said those who have already came in will be removed as will illegal aliens.

      and he is the ONLY one who will do it.

    • Conservative Since Birth says:

      I used to live in CA. Dianne Feinstein is a committed progressive. She’ll occasionally say the right thing, but her voting record tells the real story. She plays the prim and proper moderate-sounding role sometimes, but will never deviate from San Francisco Mayor Dianne Feinstein during the Harvey Milk days.

      Her Conservative Review Liberty Score is F (0%)

  8. LEO IN TSN says:

    Please be cautious about radical zealots who try to mis-portray the past actions and words of Sen. Ted Cruz. The truth is he is a conservative American patriot, working to protect US and save this great country.

    I invite everyone to go to the link cited and listen to Sen. Cruz’ actual words from 2014 in the two showcased videos. That was the time when ISIS was attacking Christians and other minorities in their campaign of terror. Entire villages of innocent families were being executed by these animals, and there was no defense available to them. Sen. Cruz is clearly talking about those specific families who were being victimized, and calls out the Christians by name. He was obviosly not referring to the types of “refugees” we see in todays news clips and who are the focus of our Muslim-in-Chief.

    In these videos, Sen. Cruz continually called for improving our immigration vetting to allow for the proper balance of national security interests and extending compassion to persecuted minority families. He specifically made reference to preventing terrorists from impersonating real refugees. He emphasized that our own security processes and procedures must be continually improved. He referred to the national security interests of helping the refugee families in the neighboring countries where camps had been established in addition to our own immigration processes. He talked about the entire realm of providing all types of assistance and sanctuary to innocent families while continuing to fight terrorism.

    For anyone to attempt to falsely imply that Sen. Cruz was “dismissive” of the issue of national security or that he previously supported obamao-style immigration is a blatant and ugly falsehood.

    God bless America, and the patriots like Sen. Ted Cruz who are fighting to protect her.

  10. lowadobian says:

    Fled the new Governor in PA – good ole Demotard Wolfe. He is as scary as they come, so he’s in good company with Obama. PA Gov’s are paper pushers and avid members of the pancake breakfast crowd. Remember we spawned Toomey while all other PA legislators fell 100% silent on the 2A. Montini of the AZ Spew had the audacity to call what Ducey (and et al) did “weakness”. Guess Montini’s idea of strength is a BLM poster, and that ain’t the Bureau of Land Management, either. What a turd. (Oh, P.S. Montini is from PA also – must be in the water.)

  11. Gary Darby says:

    God Bless you, Governor Ducey! Between keeping these refugees out of this great state and your no state taxes by the end of your first term comment, I will be in 7th heaven by 2018!

    Be advised and be prepared.

    Obama has just stated that his last year in office will be about “sustained attention” to gun control.

    As he imports an army of Muslims, he plans to disarm US.

    The British press reported yesterday that, according to the US State Dept, Arizona was #4 in accepting Syrian refugees in 2014.
    Only 53 claimed to be Christian.

    Here is just one organization in Phoenix which is aiding refugees. And they would love for you to donate and volunteer. They also have a “holiday” wish list should you be so inclined.

    Here’s some info from their website:

    “The IRC in Phoenix has welcomed a few Syrian familes over the past year and we expect to resettle more in the near future. On a daily basis, we assist hundreds of refugee families from war-torn countries such as Iraq, Somalia, Congo, and Myanmar who are also in great need of assistance when they first arrive in the US. Here are a few ideas about how you can make an impact in the lives of newly arriving refugees in Phoenix.

    Join us in making refugees welcome in Phoenix! Here are a few ideas.

    Make a Tribute Donation

    Trying to find a gift for someone who has it all? Give something truly meaningful by making a tribute gift in honor of someone on your holiday list. We will mail your designee a special card with your message. The card will acknowledge that a donation has been made, but will keep the amount of your gift private. Donations will remain in Phoenix.

    Holiday Giving Campaign

    This winter, spread holiday cheer and bring joy and comfort to a newly arrived refugee family in Phoenix. The Adopt-a-Family program matches community sponsors with refugee families resettled by the IRC throughout this past year.. Each sponsor will be matched with a refugee family or individual. Most families’ wish lists include essential items such as basic household items, winter bedding, toys and toiletry items.

    To adopt a family or for more information, please email Jackie Nolot, In-Kind Program Coordinator, at

    Host a DIY Event

    A “DIY” (Do It Yourself) event is a great way to rally friends, family and coworkers in partnership with the IRC to support our mission. You can host a fun and simple event. Put on your thinking cap and be creative, or simply turn your holiday party into a “DIY” event.

    Examples of DIY Events:

    • Holiday parties: Thanksgiving dessert potluck, New Years happy hour;

    • Host a casual dinner, or wine and cheese party;

    • Sports viewing parties;

    • Movie night;

    • Garage sale;

    • Tailgates;

    • TV show viewing parties;

    • Office department fundraising challenge.

    The fundraising part is easy — just ask your guests to bring a donation for the IRC in Phoenix.. . .”

    When I think about all the US military veterans who are homeless and in need of assistance, this “refugee” crap makes me sick.
