Splendid Christmas gift…. a day late

Today, Dec. 26, we gift you with Larry Elder’s column, “15 Questions for the Dem candidates.” The queries, never posed by the debate moderators, provide thought-provoking reading.

If you were masochistic enough to watch the recent dreary Democrat debate — purposely scheduled on a  pre-holiday Saturday night to exclude even the most ardent politicos with lives — you’d have noticed nothing near the caliber of these questions was asked. The reason is not rocket science. Even registered Democrats have trouble believing the less than trustworthy Hillary Clinton.

In a perfect world the Dems could only win if we screw up. But today there are so many people on the dole who know the gravy train is driven by Democrats, that they have no incentive to vote for the betterment of the country, even though the money flow is unsustainable. Why worry about the future when today is here. They get their “medical” marijuana, their government checks, and free food, and all’s well in their world, and they don’t have to lift a finger. Forty-five percent of Americans don’t pay income taxes, but they vote the same as those of us who support them.

Benjamin Franklin wisely observed, “When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic.”

All excellent questions by Larry Elder. Maybe Fox should hold a Democrat debate and put that attack tigress, Megyn Kelly on it – like she did, unfairly however, with Donald Trump. She showed absolutely no respect, nor did Brett Baier or Chris Wallace to Trump. Would they come out of the shoot like that with Hillary, hoping to walk her off the stage in handcuffs? The GOP goes on liberal venues to get hammered by Obama’s sycophant media while the Democrats are handled with kid gloves. Hillary even took her ‘grand’ old time getting back from a break and nobody said a word. She walked back on stage like a queen. What would they say if Carly Fiorina did the same. Or Trump?

Next year is going to be raucous with the Left doing anything and everything to keep their streak going with another presidential term or two. The GOPe doesn’t make it easy for Conservatives to get excited about voting for the warmed over controllable retreads they get behind. All we’ll hear from the establishment losers is ‘we need to win the Senate in 2016. Do you want Chuck Schumer in Harry Reid’s old job?”

    • Observer says:

Hillary Clinton has sky high negatives ranging from her days in Whitewater with questionable stock earnings and conveniently lost records, through her years co-presidenting with Slick Willy and down to her outright lies on Benghazi and more recent email deceit. She has characterized herself and Bill as being “flat broke” when they left the White House, while exactly the opposite was true. Now with their “Clinton Foundation,” they rival Bill’s lying VP Al Gore in the wealth department. Amazingly, none of this appears to matter to the hard core liberal base.

Ben Shapiro has a good list here:

  3. Capt. Marvel says:

Now the ISIS leader Baghdadi has issued a rare public statement
warning Israel that attacks are imminent. Obama is probably hoping the Islamic terrorists will target Benjamin Netanyahu, who Obama actively worked to defeat in the last Israeli election. Small wonder, since Netanyahu shows him up as the crass manipulator he is. Netanyahu is ethical, smarter and and is better able to articulate a dynamic speech in English than Obama, who’s lost without his teleprompter.

  4. Saguaro Sam says:

Here’s the Christmas gift from Congressman Trey Gowdy to US:
His campaign has confirmed that he is endorsing Marco Rubio.

Gowdy, a brilliant former prosecutor, certainly had me fooled.

    We are rudderless. Adrift.

    • Conservative Since Birth says:

With South Carolina’s Lindsey Graham, Trey Gowdy’s free to endorse the Establishment-backed Rubio, with Jeb most likely dead meat.

About Gowdy, et al = elections don’t work because the system corrupts them faster than we can vote them out.

    • Vince says:

Gowdy’s endorsement of McCain’s Amnesty Gangster Rubio makes me wonder whether there are more than a handful of dependable conservatives in the entire congress. I sincerely hope Jeff Sessions doesn’t do a turnaround.

I’ll grow a long white beard waiting for any of the limp AZ 5 to have the guts to buck McCain and support the senate candidacy of Dr. Kelli Ward. I wonder what McCain is holding over their heads…..but it’s obviously potent enough to keep them in line.
