Dems push HR 569: Death knell for 1st Amendment

Liberal lemmings leap at ending any and all discourse and education regarding the global threat posed by Islamic jihadists

The Gatestone Institute, an international policy council chaired by Ambassador John R. Bolton, and listing Phoenix physician M. Zuhdi Jasser, M.D. as a member of its Board of Advisers, has this quote at the top of its web page.

“Let us tenderly and kindly cherish, therefore, the means of knowledge. Let us dare to read, think, speak, and write.”

—John Adams

In this Dec. 26 post, Jihad: “All the Fault of the West!” historian and journalist Lars Hedegaard who serves as President of the Danish Free Press Society, delivers some stunning news, beginning his analysis with these words:

As long as we in the West are not prepared to take Muslims at their word when they claim to be waging bloody jihad because it is their religious obligation, we have no chance of repelling the current onslaught on the West.

In the United States, a House of Representatives bill, H. Res. 569, has been sponsored that would censor one of the few countries left with freedom of speech. The bill, in accordance with the 10-year plan of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), would criminalize all criticism of Islam, worldwide.

A group in the U.S. House of Representatives has sponsored H. Res. 569, in condemnation of violence, bigotry and “hateful rhetoric” toward Muslims in the U.S.  It has been referred to the House Committee on the Judiciary.

This bill comes on the heels of Attorney General Loretta Lynch’s post-San Bernardino outrageous statement to the Muslim American community that she will prosecute anyone guilty of anti-Muslim speech. Passage of this legislation will be the death knell for the First Amendment and the end of any and all discourse and education about the threat posed by the global jihad.

The treacherous House Resolution was sponsored by U.S. Rep. Donald S. Beyer, Jr., a Virginia Democrat. It was introduced Dec. 17, 2015. Read the complete text of the Resolution and the list of left-wing co-sponsors.

Arizona Democrat Reps. Raul Grijalva (CD 3) and Ruben Gallego (CD 7) have shamefully signed on to this repressive lunacy which, if passed, signals not only the restriction, but the utter and complete death of the First Amendment.

Heritage Foundation reminds us that the oath of office taken by all members of Congress at the beginning of each term of office obligates them to observe the limits of their authority and act in accordance with the powers delegated to them by the Constitution.

These Democrats obviously think they are above such mundane restrictions.

When members of congress feel no obligation to uphold the Constitution, it signals catastrophe for our great nation. These people should all be impeached as traitors. From their actions it’s obvious they not only don’t care about America and her citizens, but they display no concern for the futures of their own families.

America’s military face daily dangers, putting their lives on the line serving far from home to keep us safe. Members of congress sit in cushy offices and work on legislation to render us vulnerable to Islamic terrorists.

  2. Maggie says:

Based on their actions, liberals will never convince me they care a whit about America. The fact that any of these people get elected speaks to the low information voters in their overwhelmingly minority districts. As we can see, voting based on ethnicity is a recipe for disaster. Even the minority citizen voters are not well served.

  3. Doc says:

First, these congressional IDIOTS are in violation of their Oath of Office. Period.

Second, I’ll say whatever I want to say, per my First Amendment Rights. Period. If they manage to get this done, which wouldn’t surprise me at all, I’ll invoke my SECOND AMENDMENT RIGHTS.

Lord have Mercy these people are just plain ol’ STUPID….

    • Patriot Dad says:

One small adjustment to your otherwise on target response, Doc. These members of congress are arrogant, not stupid. It’s the voters who are abysmally stupid. They were educated in today’s government schools by liberal unionist teachers who have this as their agenda to brainwash America’s students:

I looked up Don Beyer and he looks to be a dyed-in-the-wool active Lefty. He has 4 or 5 kids and two grandchildren. Does he think his family will benefit from this kind of legislation, giving more freedom to Muslims than American citizens. The legislation is over-the-top and list of co-signers looks like the Who’s Who of the Communist party USA.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz is on the co-signer list. Being a Jewish female, she’d not benefit much from this legislation when one of our “moderate” Muslims in FL becomes “radicalized.” Jared Polis (“D” CO) is gay. He won’t be spared as a special kind of guy because he wanted to close down any negative speech of the Muslim community. Barbara Lee of CA has gone round the bend a long time ago and is always re-elected. AZ’s special duo – Grijalva and Gallego can always be counted on for their anti-American votes.

The GOP is in the majority in Congress. Do you think that means anything regarding passage of this bill. Well, I’ll wait until we hear from the AZ 5 for their opposition to it.

    Interesting (2013) article on Rove.

Karl Rove siding with Muslim Brotherhood in Syria – Walid Shoebat

    • CD 8 PC says:

The GOP Establishment (Rove, Rubio, Jebby, McCain, Flake, Romney, Paul Ryan and their ilk are not thinking of Americans. They’re focused on their own continuance and open borders is what they consider the key.

As far as waiting for the AZ 5 to oppose this illegal constriction of our Constitutional rights, my advice is “don’t hold your breath.”

I appreciate the good information you send our way in this forum. Walid Shoebat’s post is superb.

  6. Mars says:

Why aren’t the major news outlets reporting this? What can be done to oppose it?

  7. Margo Stout says:

Could someone please tell us how to stop this? The simpler the better. So we could post on Facebook. So many people are so busy we only have their attention for a short time. Are there
organizations or a petition to sign online?

    • Fought For My Country says:

It’s up to each and every thinking American to arm ourselves with information and spread the word to friends, neighbors and family. If people are “too busy” to work save our country, we are in even deeper trouble than most of us can imagine. Can you envision that being used as an excuse when the hardworking farmers were called upon during the Revolutionary War? They put down their plows and fought for America! Were people “too busy” to spend much time on the important issues facing this nation during WWI and II? Hell no! They signed up and fought for liberty. Online petitions are worthless and are only a means of capturing email addresses. What a pathetic group of people you describe. I’m thoroughly disgusted reading your comment

      • Margo Stout says:

Sorry you are disgusted. Now instead of being disgusted does anyone out there have information. For some of us this is something we can do. I do believe the so called silent majority must speak out however they can even it it is making our voice heard online. I have seen where this has worked.

    • Sally Forth says:

The most important thing you can do to ensure the continuance of our great nation so aptly described by President Ronald Reagan as the “shining city on a hill” is to get involved as a precinct committeeman. Not only will you have the opportunity to effect change, but you will also meet numerous elected Republicans who speak to the PCs and answer questions at the monthly district meetings. Your Facebook page is not going to get the job done. I’ve been a precinct committeeman for nearly two decades beginning as a young mother with a full time job. I was concerned about my children’s futures and knew being active would matter. As a PC, you also have a voice in the state GOP structure. Call Republican headquarters and find out about getting involved. (602) 957-7770.
