McCain, Flake and Obama’s judicial confirmations

Aided by Republicans, Obama is remaking the federal bench

While they thought you weren’t paying attention, Arizona’s slippery and lowest regarded U.S. Senators John McCain and Jeff Flake, were busying themselves on the banks of the Potomac with the confirmation of Obama’s liberal picks for federal judges.

On Jan. 11, the Arizona duo voted with the Democrats to confirm Luis Felipe Restrepo, of Pennsylvania as U.S. Circuit Judge for the Third Circuit. The Columbian-born Restrepo became a citizen in 1993. Obama is fast tracking the former ACLU prisoners’ rights lawyer up from a district court post to which he was confirmed in 2013.

Then on Jan. 19, Wilhelmina Marie Wright, was confirmed as U.S. District Judge for the District of Minnesota. Running for his sixth six-year term, candidate McCain who will be 80 by Election Day, shrewdly backed off of that confirmation, though Jeff Flake once again abandoned the Republicans to approve her nomination. The vote can be seen here. Wright’s confirmation brings the total of appellate judges appointed by Obama to 56.

In his Conservative Review commentary, Senior Editor Daniel Horowitz writes “Senate GOP Must Not Confirm Any More Obama Judges.”

“The notion that Republicans would vote to confirm more Obama judges defies logic on so many levels.  This is one of the few areas where they have no excuse or lack of power to actually use their control of the Senate for good purposes.  Moreover, by confirming more Obama judges, they will not only further exacerbate the growing judicial time bomb of anti-constitutional case-law, but will also prevent the next Republican president from filling those vacancies.”

Horowitz‘ piece on Wilhelmina Marie Wright refers to her as the Property Rights are White and Racist’ Judge, explaining the derivation of the fitting title.

This history of Arizona’s Republican senators endorsing or confirming Democrats is a long and twisted one.

Ask yourself…if the Democrats controlled the senate, would they be voting to confirm conservative federal court nominees the way liberals get a pass from Republican senators? You know the answer.  It’s time to clean house…er…senate.

Would someone explain how we benefit by electing Republicans when they vote with and for liberals?

  2. Saguaro Sam says:

And wonder what lengths Obama will go to in order to replace Ruth Bader Ginsburg ? She has given interviews in which she stated that she was not going to be pressured into stepping down.
She’d better hire some bodyguards and a food tester.

WHISKEY — TANGO — FOXTROT went over my head for a brief moment. Then I laughed out loud! You’re a kick, Doc!! I appreciate your wit and subtlety.

The two Arizona Senators are known for ‘reaching across the aisle’ far more than should ever be expected, especially with Obama in the White House. The only conclusion to come to is that McCain and Flake are progressives and should be in the Democrat party and have disdain for the people in the Republican party. They’re both so evil and destructive. Who benefits from their leftist votes – certainly not the people who put them in office. That’s why we must get rid of both of them.

Well the Republican’s were warned about McFake, in 2012, they were warned about McLiar in 2010, but these people are clueless. I will not go into my tantrum over Jimmy Deakin and his shilling for McLiar, not the perennial candidate Van. But this is what these damn fools did themselves. Unless we get Trump and start impeachment of these judges, have a article V convention and have term limits and change on impeachment of senators we may never rid us of these traitors to America.

    • Villanova says:

On what basis would you suggest impeachment? Being liberals is not an impeachable offense. I suggest you redirect your fury toward the RINO senators. THEY are the liars, not the judges.

    • Doc says:

Ya’ know, a LOOOOONG time ago, when Governors actually did the work of the State, U.S. Senators were appointed by the State Legislature, & if they weren’t doing their jobs, they were ordered HOME by the Governor & sent packin’. Of course, that wouldn’t do Arizona much good today but, Aaaahhh…those were th’ days…

Believe it or not, New York has a very successful Conservative Party on the ballot. Sean Hannity is proud to say he’s registered with it. AZ should do the same – but with the rats we have running this state, it’ll never happen. They view Conservatives as the enemy.
