Trent Franks takes indecision to soaring new heights

U.S. Rep. Trent Franks doubles down on Cuban candidates endorsing them both

This is the body of the odd press release many Arizonans recently found in their inbox:

In a Novel and Unique Kind of Endorsement, Congressman Trent Franks Officially Endorses Both Senator Cruz and Senator Rubio

WASHINGTON, D.C.- As the field for the 2016 GOP Presidential Nominee continues to narrow, Congressman Trent Franks, suggesting that a combined Presidential ticket of Senators Cruz and Rubio may be the only way to win in November, released the following endorsement:

“Senators Cruz and Rubio* both have proven full spectrum conservative records and I call upon them to join forces and establish a joint ticket in pursuit of the Presidency and Vice Presidency of the United States and I whole heartedly endorse them both to that end.

“Under the feckless and dangerous leadership of President Barack Obama, both America and the world truly seem to be on fire. Voters trapped in the midst of those flames are running panicked in every direction. Even conservatives within the Republican Party whose history has been one of reasoned and logical determination seem fundamentally disoriented.

“Donald Trump in recent years has been a pointed critic of President Barack Obama; and I embrace his strong words in support of American sovereignty and a secure border. However, Mr. Trump’s inconsistencies and shifts on national security, the free market, and protecting the unborn and the traditional family are indications of dissimulation.

“Rivalry, disunity, and baseless hatred in our ranks, have now put conservatives in danger of splintering our voice and nominating the weakest General Election candidate in the Republican field with the strongest probability of allowing Hillary Clinton to become President.

“The laws of mathematics will not be repealed in this election cycle. The mathematics in this equation are clear to the reasoned mind: Senator Rubio and Senator Cruz can unite and win together or remain apart and each fail separately. There are fleeting moments in history when critical opportunities are clear enough for statesmen to see and still close enough for them to seize. For the sake of our country, the conservative cause, and future generations, I adjure both Senator Cruz and Senator Rubio to unite.”

Rubio hasn’t yet won a state and Cruz is neck and neck with Trump in Texas. Rubio is not a conservative – he’s a Jeb Bush “Republican.”

The AZ Republican congresspersons are not in tune with the conservatives of their state.

Trent Franks should stop calling himself a ‘conservative.’ He wouldn’t budge getting John Boehner out and I could list other things that prove he’s just a go-along-to-get-along Republican. He doesn’t make waves – just comes up with goofy things as mentioned above by SRAZ. It shows the Establishment at work. It’s their guy or nothing.

I disagree with Rep. Franks on this one. Both of the Cubans running are bold faced liars. I’m sticking with Trump.

Lies? how about Donald Trump’s longtime support of abortion during anytime in the pregnancy? How about his waffling on illegals, first saying he’s going to deport them all and then saying he’s going to put a “door in the fence” and “bring the good ones back”? What gauge will he use as a determiner of goodness? How will those roundups take place? What if the illegals employ armed resistance? Will we have armies in America’s blood drenched streets? Trump has given hundreds of thosands to support liberal candidates and issues and has been a registered Democrat and Independent before deciding it was advantageous to register as a Republican.

I’d like to hear some issues from him instead of vulgarity, childish antics and smears of the integrity of his adversaries. He is playing off the anger two terms of Obama has fomented, but this showman is not the answer. Go to YouTube and play some Reagan clips for a comparison. Here’s one to get you started:

Maybe let ’em in airline training schools too.

  4. CD 8 PC says:

Trent Franks wants to be on the right side of at least half of the candidates. He’s been around long enough to know better than to engage in this foolish posturing. I’d expect this declaration from a novice.

Another mealy mouthed politician. Is conservatism pushing for more H1B visas like Cruz & Rubio have? It is for amnesty & open borders? It is for signing trade deals without reading them and then blaming McConnell like Cruz did for lying to him? Labels mean nothing this time. I want a leader who will build the wall and actually knows how. I want someone to kick butt, read agreements and make Americans & America the #1 consideration before signing instead of big donors to their campaigns. “Conservatives” have done nothing but the same old thing and make sleazy excuses why they can’t do it. To Hell with them. Give me TRUMP who will clean house and get things done because he is behold to no one except the American people.

Unlike Jeff the Flake, at least Matt Salmon honored the term limit conmittment their incoming freshman class took years ago when Newt Gingrich was elected Speaker. Washington is a rough and tumble place to be these days. It’s difficult to tell friend from foe, even when looking in the mirror.

Even those who arrive with the best of intentions often end up falling prey to the corrupt system due to the need to fund their next election.
In the past I opposed term limits, reasoning we have them at the end of our fingers when we vote. Now, with faŕ too many uninformed and fraudulent voters we can’t rely on the purity of the system or the integrity of the voters to the extent we previously were able. Term limits have a much greater appeal.

Trent Franks runs from a safe district. He speaks as though he practices honing his sincerity skills in the mirror each morning. He can allow illegal aliens to camp out in his front yard and not register a blip on the conservative radar screen. So making a dual endorsement is a calculated and meaningless non offending option.
