Unbiased press? Not at the AZ Republic

Uber liberal editorial writer Linda Valdez, given two pages to celebrate her “love story” of  marrying an illegal alien who stealthily crept into the United States, writes, “Why GOP isn’t fit to govern.” The Republican crime?  Rejecting a hearing for Obama’s pick for the U.S. Supreme Court in his last months in office.

Valdez’ biased selective memory ignores the fact that in January 2006, then-Sen. Barack Obama advocated filibustering (video) President George W. Bush’s choice of Samuel Alito to the high court in the same set of circumstances.

“How many kids are Republicans adopting?” was the absurd headline of editorial columnist Elvia Diaz’ incoherent rambling advocating for same-sex couples to adopt.  Diaz managed to squeeze the word Republican three times in a four sentence Quick Hit.

The left leaning newspaper, using the label “unfair” in a recent headline on the topic — in reference to the adults not the children — honed it’s skills under the  tutelage of “openly homo-journo” Randy Lovely who made the celebration of homosexuality a focal point of his tenure at the Arizona Republic. Lovely recently moved within the Gannett operation to VP of community news at USA Today.

Valdez and Diaz are not alone in their visceral loathing of Republicans. GOP hatred is a mainstay of the editorial board and columnists E.J. Montini, Laurie Roberts and cartoonist Steve Benson

The few remaining readers (Pew Research Center) of this hate-filled fish wrap should consider that their subscriptions keep this garbage flowing.  Cancel. It’s liberating and a guaranteed money saver.

We cancelled our subscription to this tripe filled day old and regurgitated news purveyor years ago. News is now instant and there are far better sources than this left wing rag. My wife still liked the crossword puzzles. I buy her the puzzle books. Must cheaper and they don’t raise our blood pressure! Much better deal.

  2. Clementine says:

One correction to an otherwise accurate account. The term to use is sodomy…as in the biblical description. Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed for what is being mainstreamed to society in general and our kids in particular as just an alternative lifestyle.

  3. Vince says:

The newspaper is known as the AZ Repulsive with good reason. SRAZ has provided a decent overview, though there are many other specfics. As an example, they can’t get enough of the aisle crossing, double crossing RINO/”Maverick” John McAmnesty or his cohort Jeff McFlake.

  4. Conservative Since Birth says:

The “Good-bye to God” tirade by Steve Benson, above, is a good insight into the mentality at the AZ Republic. If you read that and still read that paper, you’re a better person than I – or hate religion. He, the oldest grandchild of the Mormon church’s late prophet, Ezra Taft Benson really rips the religion apart – right down to the underwear. I wonder if he’ll still feel that way on his death bed.

  5. Braveheart says:

I’m not LDS/Mormon, but I felt exactly the same way when I read that childish tirade. I actually recall when Benson was considered a conservative. He gave up on God and conservatism and turned into an angry and small man.

  6. Saguaro Sam says:

The AZrag keeps going because of snowbirds.
The paper is filled with adverts and the snowbirds love to find out where they can eat till they drop for $1.99.

Meanwhile, the US Treasury has announced that Jackson’s image will be removed from the twenty dollar bill and replaced with a yet-to-be announced image of a female. The chickification continues.
If the woman formerly known as Bruce Jenner would only come out as a liberal Dem, perhaps she would have a chance.

    • jakesez says:

Remember Bruce Jenner is still a man in a woman’s clothing. He has never had he operation to change gender.

We cancelled our subscription to the AZ Republic and don’t miss it one bit. I always would get very angry reading the biased, liberal slanted news, commentaries, and especially that hateful Steve Benson. Waiting for them to go out of business!!!
