The repackaging of Jeff Flake begins

There it was. An above-the-fold, front page article citing Jeff Flake’s report on wasteful federal spending held sway on two pages of the Sunday edition of the Arizona Republic. Co-authored by Dan Nowicki, whose ongoing assignment at the newspaper has been burnishing the increasingly tarnished image of John McCain, the article gives the definite impression that the very senior senator’s recent sagging polling numbers have caused the resuscitation team to get to work on McCain’s underling. Flake with a 27% approval rating, toppled McCain (30%) as the nation’s most unpopular senator. The man with a penchant for streaking blonde through his hair and taking beef cake shots of himself will be running for a second six-year term in 2018.

Flake, who has his own set of problems with conservatives has, with righteous indignation, milked the “earmarks” cow since he was first elected to the U.S. House in 2000. No one denies there is wasteful spending in Washington, DC, but the most egregious example is funding the invaders who enter our country by stealth. Yet the guy who feigns outrage over studies that even the newspaper admitted had merit that the initial wording obscured, willingly joined John McCain in leading Marco Rubio and a pack of the Senate’s most dedicated liberals who, as the Gang of Eight, once again tried to shove amnesty down the throats of the American people.

Jeff Flake is not an honest broker as the newspaper noted here, and for going back on his term limits pledge, smirking as he admitted, “I lied.” In fact, he has said that “the beauty of six-year senate terms” is that the voters have short memories. Flake has become a frequent traveling buddy of Barack Obama‘s  and even accompanied him on a trip to his father‘s African homeland of Kenya. Flake previously worked as a lobbyist in South Africa.

Between 1990 and 1991, Flake was a registered foreign agent for Rossing Uranium, a company which operates a mine in Namibia that is among the world’s largest suppliers of nuclear fuel —- and partially owned by Iran. He earned approximately $7,000 per month opening doors in the nation’s capital and promoting the firm, according to records obtained by National Journal, which writes, “Flake’s little-known time in the influence industry stands in contrast to his carefully cultivated image as a Washington outsider.”

In 2013 nationally syndicated conservative Laura Ingraham was so incensed over Jeff Flake’s duplicity on the issue of illegal immigration, that she said:

“Let me tell you — I am thinking of moving to Arizona. You know why? I will primary challenge Sen. Jeff Flake myself, if that’s what this requires. Jeff Flake, living up to his last name, backed down from a previous promise his spokeswoman made to Breitbart. This is just like Marco [Rubio] breaking his promise, basically, that he would consider voting in favor of amendments to the Senate’s immigration bill that would close a loophole of allowing illegal immigrants access to state and local welfare. Jeff Flake voted with the liberals against the Ted Cruz amendment.”

Let’s hope she remembers those words.

Flake will join his ideological soul-mate in retirement after the information- dispersal organization Arizona Conservatives have created against McCain gears up again in 2017. Recruitment for a Flake-decoy-primary “opponent” (or two) is already underway. That person should first ask Alexander Meluskey how he likes it here.

  2. East Valley Conservative says:

Jeff Flake was aptly described by Laura Ingraham as “living up to his last name.” He has been deceitful and self-absorbed as long as I’ve known him, which has been much longer than his time in office. His bonding to the illegals is integral to his LDS faith, which has increased its outreach to Latinos of every stripe, regardless of country or illegal status. It’s on par with the Catholic church. It’s all about increasing power and membership.

This article in Utah’s Deseret News is instructive:

I just have a question…So, mcTraitor was censured…TWICE…& yet mcFlake remains UNSCATHED by the AZGOP to my knowledge…

    …’SUP WIT DAT?!?!?!?!?

I say tar-&-feather BOTH of ’em…GO DR. WARD…& let’s hope that Mrs. Ingraham does what she said!!

    …oh…& 86 TH’ 80 YEAR OLD S.O.B.!!

Even with John McCain and Jon Kyl going to the mat for Flake, he barely squeaked into the senate seat being vacated by Kyl. Flake’s 3 point “victory” was quite an embarrassment at the time, but as the old saying goes, “a win is a win…”

I did not vote for Jeff Flake. I will never vote for Jeff Flake. He’s never been a conservative, and is actually a Libertarian rather than a Republican. He’s only a registered Republican because it benefits him. He arrogantly thinks he’s a real player because he routinely plays basketball with his bud Barack O.

    Regarding immigration:

There are now in Arizona at least 11 active cases of measles, a highly contagious, communicable disease. This all started when a prison inmate from another jurisdiction was brought to the privately owned and operated Eloy Detention Center. Seven inmates and four detention center personnel are positive for measles.
Now, there are reports that the measles outbreak has been detected in Maricopa County.

More good information, but a small correction in your first words “Regarding immigration.” Actual immigrants have gone through numerous security, personal history and health checks and are not diseased. Illegals frequently are. What I believe you’re referring to are illegals, who are not immigrants at all.

The information you shared is very concerning. But the addresses listed provide a wealth of information. Thanks.

  5. Frankly Speaking says:

Here’s what McCain and Kyl had to say about Dr. Richard Carmona when he was being considered for Surgeon General of the United States and they lavished him with praise. When he used their comments in a campaign ad they called him dishonest! That’s how the GOPe (establishment) works.

Been away over the blessed Memorial Day weekend and have to catch up on SRAZ, but wanted to share this with you all in the meantime.
