John McCain proves he’s no friend of veterans

Phoenix VA Hospital scandal just the tip of the McIceberg

Breitbart News reports that John McCain backed a visa program for Afghani interpreters and their relatives that is funded by imposing higher costs on U.S. military veterans’ health care. The extent of the entitlement programs detailed in the link is sure to make your blood boil.

“It’s time for the Senate to stop treating U.S. immigration policy like a Christmas tree that they can simply add more baubles to on a whim,” a press release from NumbersUSA sent to Senate offices read. “Americans have to pay for each of those baubles — through higher taxes, fewer jobs, lower wages, and, tragically, higher health care costs for soldiers and their families.”

To no one’s surprise, McCain’s office declined to respond to queries from Breitbart News. John McCain spearheaded the program.

The Daily Caller News Foundation previously reported that congress cut healthcare benefits to veterans in the 2016 budget by increasing pharmacy co-pays — using money accrued from those savings to fund an expansion of the Afghan Special Immigrant Visas program. The money could have been taken from other spending accounts — such as programs at the State Department.

We urge you to read both linked reports. Despite his claims to the contrary, John McCain is no friend of our military. The VA Hospital scandal, resulting in the deaths of dozens of veteran’s, took root right here in Phoenix, under John McCain’s nose.

Is it any wonder the Second Amendment restricting John McCain is ranked as the least popular senator — with the worst polling numbers in America? In his home state of Arizona where elected GOP party officers overwhelmingly voted to censure him, only 30% of the voters approve of the job he’s doing.

We have the opportunity to make a much needed change during the upcoming Primary Election.  Dr. Kelli Ward  is a family practice physician, mother, military wife and former state senator with proven conservative credentials. She is running to bring conservative values and a much needed vibrancy to representing the people of Arizona.  Her husband Dr. Michael Ward, is a Colonel in the Air National Guard, where he serves as Flight Surgeon. He has been deployed world-wide including voluntary tours to Kuwait, Iraq and Turkey. This is a dedicated family that will make us all proud.  At 80, John McCain is running for another 6-year term. You do the math.

Mark your ballot for Kelli Ward.

Excellent post as far as it goes. I’m taking the liberty of adding this important video. It’s short but contrasts Dr. Kelli Ward and John McCain without the vile lies that he and his leftwing PACs hurl at her.
    Please watch:

John McCain has had his opportunity and used those nearly 35 years to repeatedly align with Democrats and poke his finger in the eyes of conservatives. He should have run as the democrat he wanted to and we would have been done with him before he embarked on his embarrassing career as a political “maverick.” (A word coined to give him cover for leaning left.)

It was the ‘Phoenix 40,’ a powerful group of movers and shakers that dominated politics at the time that twisted his arm to run as a Republican replacing the well respected U.S. House Minority Leader John Rhodes, Sr.

Just another moment in history that we we do over if we could. We have a chance now to right that wrong now. It’s time to replace John McCain—and Dr.Kelli Ward is the one to do it.

  3. Hunter says:

I thought Kelli Ward was better for the job than John McCain, but now I’m so confused because Trump endorsed McCain.

Just kidding! I’m a real conservative, so I support Kelli Ward for the US Senate and don’t trust anything Trump says.

  4. MacBeth says:

John McCain is only a friend to John McCain. He certainly has no allegiance to the Republican Party and in fact, has preferred Ted Kennedy, Russ Feingold, Hillary Clinton, Charles Schumer, Dick Durbin and Barack Obama (who he supported more than opposed when he helped elect him president tho supposedly running against him) We’ve been had! It’s time to wise up. Dr. Ward provides us an excellent choice.

  5. VINOAZ says:

Kelli campaigns on the issues. McCain is in the gutter with false vile ads. He has to go. As for the vets, he is on it. Just like the border. Big election lies, but we know he could care less and has done nothing for the vets and is all for open borders. A Democrat masquerading as GOP.

    Speaking of the VA—
Just last Friday, I was trying to help an elderly neighbor whose husband recently passed away.
We tried calling the VA in Phoenix, but the phone just rang and rang endlessly. Did not even get to the point of a recorded message.
Just nothing but a phone ringing somewhere in some solar system.

We then called the Social Security Admin, which was surprisingly
not a bad experience. At the end of a lengthy conversation, I mentioned that we were having no luck with notifying the VA.
The SSA guy put us on hold for a few seconds and then gave us several numbers for the VA in Phoenix.

We called all of those numbers and only got connected to the voice mail systems of several people. Even the voice mail messages gave no useful information or direction. So I left messages on every voice mail system I got. That was Friday at 9 AM.
This is Monday at 11 AM. My neighbor has yet to receive a return call. All we wanted to do is notify them of his death.

The VA routinely shows that they do not care about Life.
So it makes sense that they do not care about death.

The VA should call themselves Planned Parenthood and drop the pretense of caring.

    • Army Of One says:

Your neighbor is fortunate to have your assistance, but the Veterans Administration sounds like it’s still pathetic. Rather than going after Kelli Ward with false commercials, sleazy John McCain should use what heft he still possesses to get this system functioning at least adequately if not well. He’s good at lip service and nothing more. All he cares about is power. I hope he’s sent home where he can travel between his eight (or is it nine??) homes and give someone who has a functioning brain a chance.

Apparently, Christine Jones is continuing her well-established record of liberalism via her staff’s defense of La Periodico de la Republica Arizona. They endorsed Justin Olson to boost their “conservative street cred” in hopes of getting Olson enough votes to beat the spread between Biggs and Jones so that they could have a liberal representing the East Valley. Would love to see Seeing Red comment. Just to be clear, “Right Arizona” is an intern, but just look at the account’s tweets: they’re RINO at best.

Senile Señor Juan McAmnesty!! An example of one who has stayed too long at the fair and can’t find his way home. His longevity is due to newcomers to the state who don’t know better and the seniors who have bought his tales of heroism lock stock and barrel, as my dad used to say. Those who served with both him in the military and the US Senate tell a much different story.

Again, anti-Veteran votes by McCain cannot be repeated too often:

Ever wonder why Illegal Aliens get US Medical Care while our U.S. Veterans die on VA waiting lists? Or why Disabled American Veterans give Arizona (AZ) Senator John McCain a 20% rating, or why Iraq & Afghanistan Veterans of America give John McCain a “D” grade on veterans’ issues?

Read McCain’s 30-year anti-veteran record here. You will not see this in Arizona News Media.
A 2014 investigation found at least 40 U.S. Veterans died waiting to see doctors at the Phoenix VA. Many AZ Veterans were on a secret waiting list designed by VA to hide 1,400 to 1,600 sick Veterans.
On April 11th 2014 Senator McCain visited our Phoenix VA hospital “for a little more than an hour”.

And after 2 years three Phoenix bureaucrats may soon lose their jobs for “negligent performance and failure to provide effective oversight”. But McCain still ignores “deadly problems” at the Phoenix VA. http://www.nydailynews.com/life-style/health/40-veterans-die-va-hospital-secret-wait-list-report-article-1.1767284

McCain has not helped US veterans dying in Phoenix, in Southeast Asia… or anywhere else.

We must replace John McCain with Kelli Ward for the sake of veterans and all US Armed Forces.

    • State Delegate says:

      William Heuisler,

Thank you once again for this important compilation of information. John McCain has pulled the wool over too many eyes for too long. Dr. Kelli Ward is a dream come true for conservatives and rational Independent voters. John McCain has $ millions from the most nefarious of sources funding his ads, such as George Soros. Gregory Wendt and many of his cronies who are part of the so-called Grassroots Arizona PAC don’t even live in Arizona!.

LET’S PRIMARY HIS SORRY ASS!! GO DR. WARD!!!!!!!!!
