Don’t candidates have more to do than endorse other candidates?

Former office holders are also resurrecting themselves as endorsers

It’s the end run to Primary Election Day on Aug. 30. If you signed up for an early ballot it’s time to get it filled out and mailed to ensure it’s received and counted. This election is crucial on many levels.  Our mailboxes are being flooded with flyers as are our email in-boxes. Squish Republicans are suddenly trying to convince us they are “conservatives,” which appears to be the operative word among slick RINOs trying to dupe us and garner votes they would not otherwise receive.

Among the oddest standouts are the endorsements that make us wonder what the enticement is. GOP Presidential candidate Donald Trump and his VP running mate Mike Pence have taken time out of their busy schedule to endorse John McCain as he runs for another six-year senate term at age 80. They are joined by Gov. Doug Ducey, whose first job when he moved to Arizona to attend ASU was working for Cindy Hensley McCain’s Anheuser-Busch wholesale beer distributorship. The burning question is why are any of them going after Dr. Kelli Ward and asserting she has a “radical agenda,” while deceptively claiming John McCain is “conservative?”

Pence came to Phoenix in 2008 and while here endorsed a lifelong Democrat who had registered as a Republican five days before filing as a candidate for a state House seat. The newly minted Republican has not gotten better with time. Ducey appointed the ethically challenged dude with a propensity for wearing sun glasses indoors to head the Arizona Lottery and was forced to ask him to resign in short order.

A bunch of formers are getting in on the action. Lackluster former Secretary of State Ken Bennett, a longtime Prescott resident has been living in Phoenix and was chairman of LD 24 requiring residency in the district. He’s run unsuccessfully for several offices over the years and is now trying his luck running for Congress in CD1. Former U.S. Sen. Jon Kyl and former U.S. Rep. John Shadegg are climbing on his bandwagon in the district that mainly encompasses northern and eastern Arizona. With his politically motivated meandering, Bennett resembles a perennial job seeker without a core.

John McCain was censured by statewide elected officials within his own party, is funded by high dollar liberal PACs and radical leftist multi-billionaire George Soros.  Yet he just sent out another whining email plea for more money to attack primary opponent Dr. Kelli Ward a family practice physician and former two-term (two years each) state Senator. The man who has hung his baseball cap on being an aisle-crossing maverick for decades has the gall to refer to himself as a “conservative.”   Paul Ryan has sent out an email accusing the Dems of being “rubber stamps,” a position with which Ryan has more than a passing knowledge. He has sent out an email request for cash on behalf of McCain, claiming “all of the commonsense conservative legislation we pass” will be in jeopardy. Would that be McCain’s pet issue of amnesty for illegal invaders that Ryan also approves?

It’s not called the crazy season without cause. Remember to mark your ballot for Dr. Kelli Ward for the U.S. Senate. Read her bio, watch her video. Arizonans are fortunate to have someone of her caliber and background run for the U.S. Senate. Unlike McCain, Dr. Ward will never call Hillary Clintona rock star.” Unlike McCain, she fully supports our Second Amendment rightsIt’s past time for a change. Your vote is your voice.

My wife and I were discussing this same issue with friends over dinner last night. We all agreed that the candidates endorsing each other was comical at best and unseemly at worst.

The former office holders still think their words are golden. The rest of us have moved on, but they never will. I suspect the suddenly ubiquitous John Shadegg is contemplating another run. He’s become like the hard to avoid dog doo in my yard.

  2. Observer says:

Bennie Quayle might pop up as a McCain endorser next….although Team McCain would probably tell him they’ve got enough.

  3. Conservative Since Birth says:

They probably know what we think of them so they have to prop each other up. Somebody’s gotta care what their next move is.

Lackluster is the perfect word to describe Ken Bennett. You can fall asleep listening to his “qualifications.”

There’s no end to where Paul Ryan will go to stop a true conservative agenda – his alliance with Obama has shown that.

    More to worry about:
Federal jackass judge has recommended to US AG to file criminal charges against Sheriff Joe and 3 others.

Right has become wrong, and wrong has become right.
The show’s just about over, folks.

(and when can you remember a time that ever picked up a story from the Az Republic?—today was that day)

I saw that and grieve for my children and theirs. Those in authority have sunken to previously unimaginable depths, Federal judges have lifetime appointments.

Trump Just Put The FEAR In Every Congressman With 1 EPIC Promise To America

Great article on term limits. Describes the McCain’s of Washington, D.C. I hope he guts the place.

From the article: “Part of the mess we’re in as a country — especially in terms of debt, deficit and political pusillanimity — has to do with establishment politicians who hang around Washington for half a century or more.”

    • Arizona Conservative Guy says:

Trump, Pence and Ducey ALL endorsed John McCain and blasted Kelli Ward with lies that prove they hold us the voters in the lowest of esteem. I have the mailer right in front of me on my desk. I find them all contemptible for doing this. I have no realistic choice but to vote for Trump, but he is already onboard the establishment train and playing their disgusting game. We’ve been had.

    Speaking of Soros:
McCain & Soros insult our intelligence
Pay attention to the McCain – Soros TV ads attacking Kelli Ward. They prove McCain thinks we Arizona Republicans are really stupid.

Remember the Soros “Open Society Institute” funds McCain’s “Reform Institute” which funds “Grassroots Action PAC & Friends of McCain”.

And Arizona Grassroots Action PAC and Friends of McCain ads lie.

They lie that AZ State Senator Kelli Ward has voted with Democrat US Senator Bernie Sanders and Democrat US Congressman Raul Grijalva.
The scenario is absurd. AZ State Legislators cannot vote with any US Senator or Congressman on National Spending Bills, or anything else. Because we all know State Legislators cannot vote on Federal Matters.

McCain and Soros think AZ Voters cannot tell the difference between State Lawmakers in Phoenix and Federal Lawmakers in Washington. McCain also has “veterans” insult Military-Wife-State-Senator-Ward by pretending she voted for ISIS terrorists and against her own husband.

How dumb do they think we are? These Anti-Ward Ads make fake-angry Veterans look stupid, while treating Arizona Voters like ignorant hicks, too dumb to distinguish State Legislatures from the US Congress. McCain and Soros’s ridiculous TV lies show their enormous arrogance. Their openly dishonest campaign ads show their contempt for us voters.

Remember McCain only needs our Republican votes once each 6 years. And far-Left George Soros’s mega-millions can buy many insulting lies.
Arizona voters deserve Truth; help Kelli Ward throw out the liars.
