AZ U.S. Reps. Franks, Gosar, Schweikert target of Ryan-linked hit ads

House Speaker Paul Ryan is committed to ramming through his health care plan, ostensibly repealing and replacing Obamacare as promised by presidential candidate Donald Trump — an issue that resonated with American voters and helped propel him into the White House.  But the American Health Care Act, frequently referred to as Ryancare or Obamacare Lite is receiving push back from congressional conservatives who charge it doesn’t make the necessary changes.

Enter the American Action Network. The group with close ties to establishment House Republicrats, including Speaker Paul Ryan, is airing $500,000 in a deceptive TV ad blitz in more than two dozen media markets, urging conservatives associated with the Freedom Caucus to support Ryan’s flawed health care legislation.

The group boasts this latest campaign brings AAN’s total spending to $8.5 million in over 75 congressional districts nationwide. The Center for Responsive Politics lists 2016 cycle donors to American Action Network.

The latest ads will target 30 Congressional District Representatives including three in Arizona: Paul Gosar (CD-4), David Schweikert (CD-6) and Trent Franks (CD-8).

Breitbart’s Matthew Boyle provides what under reasonable circumstances would be the implausible back story to this high level deception. Obviously these are not reasonable circumstances. Paul Ryan’s deception is grand scale.

Targeting conservatives who won’t fall in line with this rushed through health care “revamp” is reprehensible, but just part of what makes Paul Ryan unacceptable to me. First and foremost, he is a RINO who ran with the equally untrustworthy Mitt Romney. Ryan clearly has his sights set on mounting his own presidential run, which I believe he’ll do regardless of whether Trump announces for reelection.
Ryan is John Boehner without the tears. Wisconsin voters need to kick him to the curb, but they won’t.

  2. Jeff Parker says:

Holding out for your perfect answer is the best way to continue Obamacare . . .

    • Kent says:

So you advise caving to the “answers” that work? In Arizona the costs of implementing Obamacare have risen 116%. Should we be satisfied with a mere 50% if that’s what Ryancare provides?

    • azgary says:

it will shortly die a natural death all on its own.

thats much better option than the current obamacare 2.0 that ryan is pushing for the lobbyist

  3. MacBeth says:

Lobbyists and their money need a well placed colluder like Paul Ryan to get their job done. He’ll be rewarded down the line.

  4. Saguaro Sam says:

Reported this A.M. that under Ryan’s plot to destroy healthcare, an additional 15 MILLION people will lose their current coverage.

Socialized medicine, or socialized anything, does not work.

In Canada, healthy people are forced to provide “free” healthcare for those with chronic problems.

I have frequently spoken to diabetics from Canada who are quite proud of the fact that they get everything for free while gleefully acknowledging that someone else is paying the freight.
They care not a jot about changing their diet or getting exercise because there is no incentive to be proactive.
(But good luck to them when they need that kidney transplant after years of being non-compliant.)

In Britain, in 2017, there are healthy young women who are dying post childbirth because they have contracted deadly blood-borne pathogens in the hospital.

The average wait time in Britain in an A&E (emergency dept.) is currently 12 HOURS, regardless of your presenting symptoms or whether you arrived by ambulance or on horseback.

Remember the recent photo taken by a US military veteran at a VA facility here in the US which showed elderly vets laying on the floor in pain, awaiting for their name to be called just to see a nurse? That is exactly what it is like in Britain, all day every day.

But, hey, if you want to get gender re-assignment surgeries, step right up—you’ll go to the head of the line, whether you are in prison or in the military or anywhere in Britain or the U.S.

Meanwhile, leading with story of intruder w/backpack in the WH last night. Drudge is the only one with the story so far. Trump was in residence at the time.
Please pray for the safety and protection of President Trump; his family, his team, and the U.S.

    • PV PC says:

Your description of the Canadian system is right on. We have traveled extensively though Canada and found the same smugness regarding their socialized health care system. You might not pay with your own money, though you are playing Russian Roulette with your life.

A Canadian friend told my wife she has to wait three years before she can even get on wait list for what should be a yearly mammogram. The wait lists can entail another year or more. This conversation came about because she asked about the length of intervals between the breast cancer screening American women have to wait. When she was told you make an appointment and go in for a yearly screening she was in disbelief.

      • Saguaro Sam says:

And that is why we have thousands of “medical tourists” from Canada who book, with precision, their yearly physicals, eye exams, and other procedures with Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale/Phoenix/Rochester/Jacksonville as if they making a pilgrimage.

  5. azgary says:

maybe next time they wont vote for somebody like him for speaker.

mcconnell and ryan were elected almost unanimously to their leadership positions.

anybody voting for them is suspect, they know exactly “who they are”

    • Hunter says:

Apparently Trump is behind this as well. After all, he openly threatened Rand Paul on Twitter about the safety of his Senate seat because of his opposition to Ryan’s plan.

      • azgary says:

        no he did not.

you are AGAIN PROVEN A LIAR you are only spewing goper propaganda.

      • Hunter says:

That doesn’t prove I’m a liar. When combined with Trump’s support of this disaster of a bill and the targeting of conservatives opposing the bill, it is clearly a veiled threat to get in line or risk Presidential opposition. Check out

Other members of Congress perceive Trump’s position as a threat when combined with the explicit threats of Congressional leadership.

Clearly, Trump is supporting this disastrous bill along with Paul Ryan and is NOT in favor of simply repealing Obamacare. This bill is arguably WORSE than Obamacare and it will make Republicans responsible for it.

Apparently, Trump is just another member of the GOPE. Sorry, Gary, you elected a typical big government RINO establishment Republican. Congratulations!

Trump is opposed to a simple Obamacare repeal bill and is helping to pressure Republicans who want just that. Is that a lie, Gary?

Knock off the Trump smear tactics, Gary. You are acting like you are utilizing Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals. Of course, if you are a progressive rather than a conservative, why not?

      • azgary says:

now you try to move the goalposts LIAR.

        show me the tweet.

you just make up stuff all the time LIAR

      • Hunter says:

Gary, you project your failings on others very well. You are at one with your savior Donald Trump.

      • Hunter says:

Gary, I can understand how upset you are that you were misled by Trump. For some reason, you thought he was a conservative and you still think he is. Apparently, Gary, you are somewhat delusional and despondent when people pop your bubble with relevant information like Trump being in cahoots with Ryan which is driving you to lash out at others in frustration.

  6. Conservative Since Birth says:

Lou Dobbs’ blood pressure goes nuclear at the mention of the name Paul Ryan. He’s right on with his analysis of Ryan. He and Fred Barnes (lifelong elitist RINO pundit) went at it the other day over Ryan – great TV!

I don’t see Andy Biggs’ name anywhere. Is he too new for Paul Ryan to attack? Andy Biggs was on the “Seth & Chris” radio show recently sounding very conservative on the repeal of Obamacare.

  7. Jakesez says:

Schweikert and Salmon both voted for Ryan as Speaker even though they both said they would not do so.

    • Hunter says:

Conservatives in the House should force a vote for Speaker every day a simple repeal bill is not presented for a vote and get together to ensure Ryan, at least at some point, does not get the majority needed to remain Speaker. At the very least, slowing down government legislation because of these votes will reduce the amount of bad legislation that can pass.

Any Republican valuing committee memberships and chairmanships more than his duty to the American people and the Republicans who elected him should be challenged in the primary. If that person survives the primary, conservatives should not vote for him in the general election. If Republicans can’t fulfill a simple promise like repealing Obamacare when they control both houses of Congress and the Presidency, then they don’t deserve to be in power.
