Judge Neil Gorsuch confirmed to Supreme Court

Neil Gorsuch has been confirmed as the 113th Supreme Court justice. The Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals judge was confirmed this morning in a 54-45 vote after Democrats worked tirelessly to derail his confirmation.

Gorsuch is expected to restore a 5-4 conservative majority on the nine-person bench.  Once sworn in on Monday, he will join the court and begin to hear cases, in the seat once held by the late Justice Antonin Scalia, who died in February 2016.

  1. MacBeth says:

The Republicans held on and didn’t allow themselves to be steam rolled. But it’s Donald Trump who deserves the credit for making this appointment. There was no equivocating from the list he made public when first elected.

The Democrat’s foolish tactics to take down Judge Gorsuch didn’t work, only making them look petty and angry that Hillary failed and Obama’s lame duck appointee was scuttled.

  2. State Delegate says:

After Senate Republicans used what is referred to as the “nuclear option” to shut down the Democrat filibuster aimed at taking down nominee Neil Gorsuch, ancient John McCain couldn’t resist jumping I to the fray….trying to appear relevant by declaring Thursday “a bad day for democracy.I think it’s a terrible mistake that we will regret for many, many years to come,” McCain said.

What I think is a worse mistake we’re already regretting for decades is ever letting John McCain get his foot in the senate door.

  3. Conservative Since Birth says:

For the first time in decades, I’m proud of the GOPe “leadership.” Mitch McConnell finally did something meaningful and didn’t kowtow to the Democrats. And thanks to Donald Trump for choosing Neil Gorsuch.

  4. Villanova says:

May God bless President Trump for making this crucial appointment.
