Bizarre McGoings-on within AZ GOP hierarchy

McCain’s fingerprints are undeniable

The Fri. July 7, 2017 issue of the widely read MCRC Briefs provides background involving the convoluted high jinks within the leadership of the state Republican party. It is no longer a “bottom up” party with a focus on the grassroots activists who do the heavy lifting on behalf of Republican candidates and conservative issues preceding elections. The admission by AZ GOP Executive Director Matthew Kenney that the “donors” make important determinations — including his hiring — presumably bypassing the state chairman’s authority was an McQuirk too far.

Letters addressing Matt Kenney’s strange response to AZ GOP Secretary Gabby Mercer’s concerns are coming in at breakneck speed. They are posted on the July 8 edition of Briefs this morning.

These links provide important information, including substantiating linked correspondence. Today is Saturday. It’s also blast furnace hot outside. Pour yourself an extra cup of coffee and get caught up on the unseemly intrigue emanating from within the Arizona Republican Party. With the 2018 elections on the horizon, we have every right to expect more than what we’re getting.

If you’ve ever had any doubts that Conservatives have been marginalized by the GOP elites, wonder no more. Here is but one stunning reminder.

The pure and simple fact is that conservatives no longer have a place within the state GOP. This is a party now owned by the McRINOs. Also having a state chairman based in Yuma as we approach the critical 2018 elections is foolish. It’s my view that the sole focus of the state party is keeping Jeff the Flake in the senate even though he has actively worked against Pres. Trump and even said he wouldn’t vote for him. That was a vote for Hillary, folks.

Matt Kenney’s letter invoking his religion to give himself a moral perch from which to address Gabby Mercer was embarrassing to read. I don’t want to hear about his faith, I want responsible answers for his words and actions. I don’t know this guy, but it’s clear he has no communication skills and should not be sitting in the Executive Director;s chair.

  3. Philip Alu says:

Goal lead by imbecile McCain is to turn this state Democrat Blue
Good chance because of this useless media weather reporters
#bodyslam a good thing for corrupt PPL.

  4. Frankly Speaking says:

I’m rarely speechless, but Matt Kenney’s pompous, evangelical response to Gabby Mercer did the trick as far as leaving me momentarily unable to speak. His comments had nothing to do with the issue at hand, and were an offensive use of religion in a vain attempt to give himself stature. What a pretentious jerk.

  5. Arizona Conservative Guy says:

We all owe a debt of gratitude to Frosty Taylor for her diligent work in getting ‘Republican Briefs’ out each day. She’s a former reporter going back to the days when journalists were actually principled.

Thanks too, to Seeing Red AZ for providing an additional forum for this information to get out. I also read this reliably conservative site each and every day.

  6. Saguaro Sam says:

Make no mistake, AZ is seeing a substantial influx of baby boomer liberals from Oregon, Washington, CA and even the East Coast.
These are people who recognize McCain by his words and actions, and they just might vote for him if they can stop smoking weed long enough.

For all these years, it was WWII veterans propping him up merely because he was a fellow veteran. They never did the research on the guy who can’t fly.

Now that Illinois has been driven into junk bond status and is even unable to pay lottery winners, the state legislature just passed new tax laws which will raise the average joe’s tax burden by 32%. (not a typo)
Look out for more Illinois license tags to be showing up here.

We’ve all got to work harder and smarter while we still have a chance. Grassroots efforts appear to be our only option.

Please remember Congressman Scalise in your thoughts and prayers, as he has been transferred back to the ICU at Medstar Washington Hospital Center. If you think that politics doesn’t trickle down to the healthcare professionals in D.C., you would be very wrong.

  7. Jeffersonian says:

The ersatz response to Gabby, constructed like a news article for which Kenney was interviewed, was the SECOND puff piece for Matt Kinney the RINOs have produced. Beware, all, if we don’t constantly expose Kinney as the RINO he is, he’ll be the frontrunner for a legislative seat in 2018 or 2020. Do you really want that man in the legislature? We already have too many Heather Carters, Bob Worsleys, T.J. Shopes, etc. in the legislature already!
