Phx PD ties officers’ hands in arrests of illegal aliens

Judicial Watch’s Corruption Chronicles exposes the quietly implemented new Phoenix Police Department policy banning officers from contacting federal agents after arresting an illegal alien and forbidding them from asking about immigration status, in violation of key provisions of a state law upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court.

Judicial Watch obtained a copy of the Phoenix Police Department’s new sanctuary Immigration Procedures, which also replace the term “illegal alien” with “a person unlawfully present.” It appears to be part of a broader scheme to dodge federal immigration laws in Arizona’s most populous county.

Earlier this year Judicial Watch reported that Paul Penzone, the newly elected Maricopa County sheriff, was releasing an average of 400 criminal illegals every 10 days. Many of them were violent offenders, but Penzone released them from Maricopa County Jail facilities, to protect them from deportation. The illegal aliens had state criminal charges ranging from misdemeanors to felonies, driving under the influence and drug offenses. “There’s no telling how many criminals he’s (Sheriff Penzone) putting on the streets,” stated a high-ranking federal law enforcement official stationed in Arizona.

Under a longtime partnership between the county and the feds, the Phoenix field office of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) was notified when “aliens unlawfully present with additional Arizona charges” were released from the Maricopa County Jail, which is one of the nation’s largest with a population of about 8,000. That ended when Penzone, who refers to illegal immigrants as “guests,” took office this year.

The Phoenix Police Department has about 3,000 officers that were permitted to use “sound judgment” at any time under the agency’s former immigration enforcement policy. That allowed front-line officers to directly contact federal immigration officials involving criminal illegal immigrants. The revised policy, issued just weeks ago, mandates all contact with federal immigration partners to be funneled through a single Violent Crimes Bureau (VCB) desk sergeant who will document all immigration related data and give authority to call ICE.

Although Arizona is a red state, with Republican majorities in both chambers of the state legislature, a Republican Governor, Secretary of State, Attorney General, Treasurer and Education Superintendent with five of the nine congressional district seats and the majority of Maricopa County offices held by Republicans, the city of Phoenix is another matter. The Phoenix City Council is now a Democrat majority and Democrat mayors have held the reins of the city far too long, aided by unions and the scheme of moving the already traditionally low turnout city elections to the summer when many concerned voters are vacationing.

Additionally, there was a new dynamic during the 2016 election cycle. Socialist billionaire George Soros, a funder of Hillary Clinton and John McCain, also set his sights on nation-wide law enforcement and prosecutorial races, which is how Penzone reached campaign spending heights. A 2016 Primary Election day snafu that forced voters to stand in lines for hours resulted in the longtime Republican County Recorder losing the post, and the election of leftwing Maricopa County Recorder Adrian Fontes, who now oversees elections. Fontes intends to replace polling places with all mail-in ballots and claims voter ID requirements constitute minority voter suppression.

The facts speak loud and clear. Paul Penzone, who roughed up his ex-wife while a cop, and is now the sheriff of the nation’s fifth largest county, using George Soro’s strings-attached money to win the election, should disgust us all..
He is more indebted to the Socialist who funded him than to the citizens of Maricopa County, Soros is a one-worlder, who opposes national borders. Why do you think McCain and Flake work for amnesty for illegals? Follow the money.

  2. Seen It All says:

This beaut comes directly from the City Elections Department. August 29th should have average temperatures ranging upward of 110 degrees. Of course this is a “fix is in” proposition, put in place by the democrats for obvious reasons. Regular elections are held in the fall, but not the City of Phoenix.

The City of Phoenix will hold the regularly scheduled Council Election on Tuesday, August 29, 2017. In this election, registered voters who reside in the City of Phoenix, Council Districts 2, 4, 6 and 8 will elect Councilmembers for a full term.

Interesting that beautiful Kate Steinle, who was killed by an illegal with a gun as she innocently walked with her father on the popular pier in San Francisco, is continuing to be abandoned by her own family. Their lack of outrage regarding the cause and manner of death of their only daughter has been stunning.

The parents have, just last week, issued a statement to the media stating that they do Not want their daughter’s name to be associated with any such law that may be passed by Congress.

If Bill O’Reilly, who stepped up to the plate almost immediately to badger members of Congress, had not sounded the alarm on this, poor Kate would be long forgotten.

wonder if Johnny Mac knows the folks at Fusion GPS?
If so, did he bring Jeffy into the clubhouse?

Israel backs Hungary, says financier Soros is a threat

More attention needs to be paid to the damage Soros is doing to the Western world. His money even seeps into (open borders) McCain’s political life as well as the (open borders) Phoenix police chief. The D.C. swamp stays completely silent – the mainstream media never mentions him, only on the society pages when he’s at a “do” in the Hampton’s.

    On another topic:

I hope this is true. We can use the help.

“In private, Trump has spoken of spending $10 million out of his own pocket to defeat an incumbent senator of his own party, Jeff Flake of Arizona, according to two sources familiar with the conversation last fall. More recently, the president celebrated the attacks orchestrated by a White House-sanctioned outside group against another Republican senator, Dean Heller of Nevada, who has also been openly critical of him.”

  5. Hometown Guy says:

Phoenix has such a liberal mayor in Greg Stanton that Obama and his then Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano (formerly a terrible Arizona governor) conference called Stanton to congratulate him on his mayoral election. Now Stanton is a candidate for Arizona Secretary of State, a sleeper job that has been the gateway to more than a few governors. We’ve had governors die, take an ambassadorship, or be impeached and removed from office. The next in line of succession in Arizona is the Secretary of State.

HUGE shake-up going on within the Veterans Administration.

Keep draining that swamp, Mr. President.

    • Army Of One says:

McCain always claims to be supportive of veterans but the gigantic VA Hospital scandal erupted right under his nose in Phoenix. Vets were placed on medical wait lists that were never looked at again. Many needlessly died. Where was McCain when this scandal broke? He’s only interested in issues where he can yammer into a microphone. Apparently suffering and dead vets wasn’t it.

      • Sen. John Kavanagh says:

Phoenix cannot enact it’s new illegal immigration policy because it violates state law (SB1070) and Fontes does not have the legal authority to call an all-mail election.
It’s all bluster to appeal to the item left -wing bases.
