AZ Republic morphs into The Daily McCain

As we pointed out on Wednesday, the failing Arizona Republic newspaper has become a paean to the ailing John McCain. This morning’s front page features two articles giving him headline prominence.

“McCain lists priorities for Senate health bill” and “McCain hits Trump over transgender ban.”

McCain, desiring to be current on sexual issues has radically changed his tune from this appearance during his failed presidential bid. “Hitting Trump” has become his primary focus since Donald Trump was elected president, accomplishing what eluded McCain.

Letters to the editor are selected based on two categories: Tributes to McCain  and bashing his 2016 conservative opponent Kelli Ward, a physician and two-term state senator who had the temerity to challenge him. For her effort, she was outspent 10 t0 1 and bizarrely depicted by McCain as aiding ISIS terrorists although the state senate doesn’t address international issues and her physician husband served tours of duty in battle zones. She has now mounted a campaign against Jeff Flake, who loudly proclaimed his refusal to vote for the Republican presidential nominee and did the bidding of Barack Obama, — even promoting Democrat Merrick Garland, Obama’s lame duck nominee for the U.S. Supreme Court . Flake is so beloved by the left that Hillary Clinton even featured him in a campaign ad.

Letters to the editor of the newspaper run the gamut of suggesting that an Arizona town be renamed to honor McCain, to decimating Kelli Ward.  It’s no secret the Republic is in Flake’s corner as it ignores the facts while buffing him up for the 2018 election.

Don’t be fooled. There’s too much at stake.

Interesting about the letters to the editor.

If you look at stories about McCain on conservative websites such as
thegatewaypundit.com or breitbart.com, you can scroll down to read comments made by folks who have a Disqus account.

Most of the comments are posted by folks who are conservative, with an increasing number of hateful, vicious bloggers– who showed up in droves during Obama’s last four in the WH —are just there to spew hate–not debate.

People with a conservative mindset are Not letting McCain’s cancer dx stand in the way of calling him the troublemaker that he is.

Over and over again, people ask ‘Why do the people of Arizona keep re-electing this guy?’

So it surprised no one that McCain is A-OK with trans in the military.

Now, we have a big problem. Military pilots who are trans are saying that they will NOT go. Other members of the military who have been pushed up through the ranks into leadership positions are saying that they will band together to stop Trump.

    Very dangerous times.
Vicious intolerant people now in the military.

I can understand why the local newspaper rag adores McCain. McCain’s a progressive, except for the war-mongering part. His votes the last two days will turn off any good Republican. He voted against the repeal of Obamacare and he backs transgender ideology. He knows he won’t be running again so he shed his elephant costume.

    John McCain backs transgender ideology

I suppose we should all prepare for more of this type coverage from all the media that McCain has courted so well over his career.

As I told him, it was a shame that he did not have the class that Bob Dole did and retire from the Senate after running a failed Presidential campaign.

  4. Vince says:

The term “transgender” is a recent construct, given prominence by the pathetic Bruce Jenner, who always envied the glamorous Kardashians … his wife and stepdaughters!

The real reason transgender people want to join the military or will fight to stay in, is they want taxpayers to fund their mutilation surgeries, lopping off healthy breasts and penises and getting hormones to enhance their new appearances.

  5. Clementine says:

Contrarian McCain was so necessary to the procedural health care vote that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell delayed it until McCain could make his grand entrance. Then, as always, he stuck his finger in the eye of reformers and voted in opposition. Fortunately for him, he doesn’t have to rely on Obamacare at Scottsdale Mayo Clinic where he’s treated like royalty.

Four Republican senators threatened to stop a ‘skinny’ Obamacare repeal

Three guesses……the first two don’t count.

      McCain’s latest “gang”.

    • State Delegate says:

McCain will be a stumbling block to progress until he draws his last breath. It’s baffling to me that Arizonans keep electing this self identified “maverick” who wants nothing more tha to draw attention to himself. His buddy (I won’t call him what he clearly is) Lindsey Graham will stick with McCain through thick and thin, similar to taking wedding vows. Jeff the Flake is nowhere to be seen. He has to separate himself from the gnarly McCain in order to have a chance at being reelected. It sure won’t be with my vote!

  7. Jakesez says:

Let us not loose sight of a major problem that will be forthcoming when McCain is carried out of the Senate. Who will replace him? Now is the time to start getting out ducks in a row so we are not represented by another “Maverick”.

  8. James Alberts says:

A letter the editor of the republic suggested we name a town after McCain, we already have one NOTHING AZ
