Poll: Jeff Flake in deep trouble with AZ voters

As Flake lags 14 points behind conservative Dr. Kelli Ward, desperation to retain senate seat leads to recrafting of his flaky image

A recently released poll assessing Arizona’s 2018 U.S. Senate race does not bode well for rowdy Republicrat and first term incumbent Jeff Flake. Having done everything humanly possible to insult and demean Donald Trump—  from the onset of his presidential campaign through his first seven months in the White House — his has not been a wise course of action in a state where the president is popular with the Republican base.

Townhall reports on a statewide survey of likely Arizona voters conducted by the Arizona firm of High Ground which shows Flake lagging a serious fourteen points behind his primary Republican opponent Dr. Kelli Ward. In a contrived match-up with Democrat U.S. Rep. Kyrsten Sinema (CD-9), who has not opened a campaign, Flake is eight points behind. He’s worked diligently burnishing his liberal credentials and deserves the bottom-dragging numbers he’s earned.

Conservative Ward is a former two-term state senator and physician. Sinema launched her political career running unsuccessfully as a Green party candidate for the state House. She then tried her luck as a Democrat and fared much better.  In the intervening years, Sinema has cleverly modified her radical positions, altered her appearance and stopped bashing married women and our military, even appearing in a campaign ad sympathetically interacting with the parents of a fallen soldier.

Flake’s contemptible attitude toward President Trump, whom he publicly declared “Can’t win and shouldn’t win” the 2016 election. Since then, Flake has written a 140-page pamphlet masquerading as a book, with a title stolen from Barry Goldwater’s iconic book, “Conscience of a Conservative,” in which he does everything short of burning President Trump at the stake. His internecine battles have not missed the notice of RNC Chair Ronna Romney McDaniel, who has chastised Flake for his antics. In signaling his support for Dr. Kelli Ward, President Trump tweeted, “Jeff Flake is “toxic and weak on borders.”

Worried that his pomposity will cost him the senate seat he so desires to keep, Flake tried the magician’s trick known as “misdirection,” Thursday on ‘Fox and Friends.’ His latest ploy is casting himself as “principled,” saying “I’ll continue to follow my principles” outrageously stating  he has helped President Trump on certain issues —  pointing to his vote to confirm Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch. Flake must be suffering from memory loss, but ours is keen. It was Jeff Flake, Obama’s global traveling companion and basketball teammate who personally accompanied Democrat Merrick Garland, Obama’s lame duck Supreme Court nominee, introducing him to senators, and saying “it was time to confirm him” to the high court.

Fortunately’ Donald Trump was elected President of the United  States — without the votes of Jeff Flake, John McCain and their families. As president, one of his first acts was to nominated Judge Neil Grosuch to fill the vacancy left by the unexpected death of conservative Justice Antonin Scalia. Gorsuch now sits on the U.S. Supreme Court despite Jeff Flake, not because of him.

You may have thought Fox was “all in” for McCain in 2010, wait until you see this “pander fest” featuring Brian Kilmeade with Arizona’s Junior Senator on what we’ll call, ‘Fox Befriends Jeff Flake.’ The verbal contortions Kilmeade goes through to try and help Flake are cringe-worthy and ridiculous. Watch it here. We suggest you eat afterwards.

Today we are reposting a link to the fact-filledSo you think you know Jeff Flake?  Think again.” It’s definitely worth taking time to review this weekend.

The significance of High Ground releasing these dismal poll numbers showing Jeff Flake in trouble, should not be overlooked. The company is owned by McCain loyalist and former strategist Chuck Coughlin.

When Jon Kyl retired from the senate to move up to a more lucrative lobbying job with a DC law firm, he and McCain left no stone unturned in their desperation to shoehorn Flake into that seat. He won by only 3 points, against George W. Bush’s former surgeon general Dr. Richard Carmona, who made the grievous error of running as a Democrat.

Before his first US House race, Flake was a Losertarian, but knew that was a path to nowhere. Flake ran on term limiting himself to three 2-year terms, but unconscionably broke his promise to the voters, grinning and saying, “I lied.”. His “word” means nothing. It’s his lust for power that defines him

  2. VINOAZ says:

We have to get rid of Flake. Can we get Mitch and the RNC to stop supporting him? Sinema is a typical Democrat. Morally and ethically bankrupt, will pull any phony stunt to fool voters. Sadly some vets and other decent folks have been fooled. She was first elected because the Rebulican candidate was terrible, the worst one in the primary. So, how did he win the primary?

Breitbart exposed Kyrsten Sinema’s ties to the Communist Party in 2012. She was elected to represent Arizonans in Congress despite that. Our populace is getting more disconnected from what is truly important with each passing year. If your kid supported Socialist Bernie Sanders, thank a union teacher.

Check out where their National Education Association (NEA) and American Federation of Teachers (AFT) dues go and who they support. It’s overwhelmingly leftwing Democrats:

The information about Kyrsten Sinema is very interesting. I wonder how many of her constituents know about her real politics. The D.C. Democrats of today are out and out communists and their party is suffering. They’re lagging behind the bumbling GOP in contributions by a lot. People are leaving the Democrat party. Hillary lost the election.

All this, I believe, is because of eight years of Obama. People wanted something pro-American – hence President Trump.

  3. Conservative Since Birth says:

In the Fox video above, Flake brags about the “bipartisan” immigration bill passed in 2013 which included 700 miles of fencing, doubling the number of Border Patrol agents…blah blah blah. Well, what happened to it? We STILL don’t have a secure border. Flake repeats the “bipartisan” “work across the aisle” phrases advising Trump to do so. Obama never cared about bipartisanship – he got things done “his way.”

The Republicans can always be counted on to screw up a good thing. They’re in the majority and are a laughing stock. Instead, they’re spending valuable time undermining the guy the majority put in the White House. McConnell should have punished McCain for his NO vote on Obamacare. For that loss, McConnell’s polling has hit the floor. But – it didn’t help Trump – so it’s ok.

That vile, offensive, loathsome, repulsive, nauseating, despicable, abominable John McCain was out and about again yesterday taking photos with the AZ Cardinal football team. I don’t enjoy seeing someone undergoing treatment for brain cancer out there trying to prove something – I don’t know what. But my sympathy is gone.

Ditch Mitch and his $$$$. POTUS showed us that $$$$ isn’t as important as grassroots that will work hard, knock on doors, and spread the word. It’s never too early to start. You can include McSally, Sweikart right along with Flake. None of them could make a living in real life, they are all totally dependent on taxpayers. Get ’em out of there.

  5. Saguaro Sam says:

    Did You Hear About This?
On Tuesday, August 22, a group of Arizona sheriffs “honored” the Flake for “his actions during a shooting at a Congressional baseball practice in June that left several people injured.”

ABSOLUTELY NO mention in the media coverage of Congressman Scalise who is now in a rehabilitation facility
    re-learning how to walk.
    Let that sink in.
Re-learning how to walk. And that’s not his most serious medical problem.

Here’s a quote from the ceremony to honor Flake:
“We honor you for your valor and compassion. We believe that you represent the best of Arizona” Those two sentences were uttered by the Cochise County Sheriff Mark Daniels, who also happens to be the president of the Arizona Sheriffs Association.

Of course, joining Sheriff Daniels in heaping on the glory goop was the Pima County Sheriffs Department, who piled on even more accolades.

Flake talked about how he called Scalise’s wife.
But he apparently failed to mention that he was the one to phone up Obama while still on the baseball field and kept Obama informed of the situation for who knows how long.

Notice the timing of this—–Tuesday, August 22—-they got it in
hours before Trump arrived in Phoenix.

    Coincidence? I think not.

It is unknown as to whether Cochise County and Pima County provided a mariachi band or busloads of adoring illegals blowing kisses.

Sure hope that law enforcement didn’t bring any of their police canines to the event. He might have insisted that they be kept locked in a car.

    • VINOAZ says:

Sounds like the award party for the corrupt disgraced Dan Rather. Was shocked to hear the Dan is still around. Guess he appeals to a brand of moron that is hard to imagine.

    • Night Owl says:

I wonder who got to those sheriffs, and what would cause any border sheriffs to support a border phony like Jeff the Fake. There’s got to be more to this story.

  6. Clementine says:

Jeff the Flake claims he’s going to stay true to his principles? Exactly which principles would those be? Giving aid and comfort to illegals invading the US? Traipsing around the senate with a Democrat he was pushing for the Supreme Court to skew it for decades to come? Staying true to his commitment to term limit himself? Nah. His ego won out there.Maybe the bleach he uses to streak his hair has seeped into his brain…

.I wouldn’t vote for him if he was the last man standing. Thank God he’s not. We have an excellent female candidate in Dr. Kelli Ward. The Libs and RINOs are so worried that they are now in attack mode a full year before election day. Slippery Mitch McConnell is funding ads calling her chemtrail Kelli, taking a page out of McCain’s play book. The story behind that fantastic allegation is that she was addressing supporters and she was asked if there was any danger associated with chemtrails. Dr. Ward said she would look into it. Period. End of story. But this exhange has taken on a life of its own and is being used to portray the emergency room doctor as a nutcase.

  7. MacBeth says:

Jeff Flake should be best remembered as standing shoulder to shoulder with lying John McCain and a boatload of RINOS and members of Democrat leadership forging the Gang of Eight amnesty scheme. Fortunate they failed.

  8. Conservative Since Birth says:

Here we go – be aware of how they fight Republicans and NEVER Democrats.

Mitch McConnell looks like a grandmotherly elderly woman, but is as vicious as a viper. He has too much power for one so incompetent. He needs to go. I do wonder why Pres. Trump keeps his wife in a cabinet post. The proximity or the adage “keep your friends close and your enemies closer,” obviously hasn’t worked in this case.
