Decoding the deceptive language of AZ Republicese

Sunday’s edition of the Arizona Republic showcases some sterling examples of liberal skew. In a featured article under ‘Arizona Politics,’ McCain and Flake’s reliably sycophantic assigned reporter Dan Nowicki is back to marginalizing Dr. Kelli Ward, who is running for the U.S. Senate seat soon to be vacated by Jeff Flake. He’s departing due to bottom dragging polling numbers after repeatedly deprecating candidate, and now president, Donald Trump. In the end, he was left with no other face-saving option other than retirement from his.$174,000 (plus benefits) job.

Playing his job security role of political assassin, Nowicki tries and fails miserably linking Kelli Ward, a physician and two term state senator, to unsavory characters across the country. Magicians call this trick “misdirection.”

How best to take down the accomplished woman who would bring conservative stature to Arizona’s senatorial delegation? Nowicki missed the mark by referring to her as a “border security hawk.” Keeping our sovereign border secure is a plus, not a minus to the grassroots Republican base that elected Donald Trump President of the United States.

In the same edition of the newspaper was this peculiar headline: ‘Migrant convicted of murder arrested.’  No, it wasn’t a murderous swallow migrating the 6,000 miles to Capistrano, California from Goya, Argentina. It was an illegal Guatemalan previously convicted of murder in 2005, who served a ridiculously light sentence of four years in prison and was deported. He was caught reentering the U.S. via Southern Arizona.

In its press release headline, U.S. Customs and Border Protection correctly refers to the murderer as an illegal alien. The newspaper adheres to the liberal guidelines in the AP Stylebook, which abhors the words. “illegal” and “alien,“ especially when they abut one another.

The Republic cites a suspicious poll that says the vast majority of Arizonans don’t support construction of at border wall. North American Research Partnership is hardly unbiased. Additionally fomenting the positions it does is a money maker.

Missing from the newspaper’s coverage is the deadly gun battle on the outskirts of the Mexican seaside city of Acapulco that left 11 dead Sunday.  Acapulco is Mexico’s murder capital, the center of opium poppy production. War-like violence has been fed by turf wars over the distribution of street drugs such as heroin, cocaine and methamphetamine.

The former resort city was one of Mexico’s most famous, and for decades served as a playground for the rich and famous. In recent years, however, Acapulco has been overtaken by vicious gang warfare and is now ranked one of the most murderous cities in the world.

The U.S. Department of State has issued this all-encompassing, dire warning for travelers to Mexico. But Mexico remains the Arizona Republic‘s widely touted business partner we should be cultivating to better ourselves. These corrupt, unskilled and uneducated foreign nationals, enmeshed in murderous drug wars and lawlessness are those we should welcome and provide benefits and amnesty?  Something is definitely wrong with this picture.

We already know that 200,000 citizens of Puerto Rico have fled to the U.S. after the hurricane several months ago. They ain’t going back.
Funny how empty cruise ships showed up and just happened to find Puerto Ricans standing on the dock with the suitcases on wheels, just standin’ around doin’ nuttin.
Which is exactly what they’ll do here—-nothing—-except what the Dems tell them to do.

    Meanwhile,
    Oprah for President 2020?
    All over the news today.
She’s a veteran failure at losing weight, how could she run a country?

Personally, I like ‘border security hawks.’

I’ve been to Acapulco back in the day. It was glamorous with beautiful old hotels, gorgeous beaches, restaurants and nightlife. Americans were “friends” of Mexicans back then. There was no poisoning of drinks and Americans dying as has happened this past year at other Mexican resorts. Acapulco is dead. I see California going the same way. A sanctuary state is not a good idea. Leftists are destroying what was once a beautiful place. Mexico always said they’d ‘take it back.’

Good News! This was another scam. Protected status after an earthquake 17 years ago.
And all we have to show for it is MS-13.

Ah, yes, the Golden Globes took center stage for the braindead last night and is impossible to avoid this morning. Suddenly the Hollywood titans the “gals dressed in black” are disgusted with for their exploitation, are the same ones they were all too happy to indulge before stardom. The women acquiesced to their advances,or even make some of their own in order to achieve stardom or desired roles

I looked at the outfits they were wearing. They show off every bump and crevice and then scream when the goods they appear to be selling are thought to be for sale.

Liberals and their Republcrat cousins are intent on destroying this nation. Pushing amnesty for those who disregard our laws and will vote as Democrats will turn all of America into Mexico just as Mexifornia has become. That state would never again be one that elected someone like Ronald Reagan. California’s best days are a memory.

Death of Peter Sutherland, Mass Migration Advocate Dubbed ‘Father of Globalisation’
    http://www.breitbart.com/london/2018/01/08/death-peter-sutherland-mass-migration-advocate-father-globalisation/

“As the United Nations Special Representative for Migration and non-executive chairman of Goldman Sachs International in 2012, he infamously remarked that the European Union should “be doing its best to undermine” the sense of national “homogeneity” in Britain and Europe, in order to pave the way for multicultural societies.”

Not sorry to see him go.

    • Villanova says:

He sounds just like globalist billionaire George Soros, who despises the concept of individual nations.

John McCain and Hillary Clinton have been funded by Soros for years. Jeff Flake said he was a proud globalist, so I imagine he was on the Soros dole, as well.

Here in Maricopa County, Paul Penzone, the leftwing sheriff who called illegal aliens “guests” had large infusions of Soros cash shoveled into his campaign.

Western Europe (including the Scandinavian countries where Muslim gang rapes are committed in broad daylight) is projected to be majority Muslim within a couple of decades. Mohammed is the most popular boy’s name in England and the current Mayor of London is a Muslim.

      • Conservative Since Birth says:

He’s a “mass migration” advocate/globalist. Not only am I not sorry to see him go, but I hope he rots in Hell.

      • Trevor says:

Seeing pictures of Soros hanging with Hillary and also McCain is so disturbing.
