AZ Special Election Congressional Dist. 8 results & more

We’ve got what you’re looking for —  and the back story

Beginning at 8:00 pm tonight, the Secretary of State’s automatically updating election results can be viewed HERE.

Congressional District 8 has 455,660 registered voters, residing in 143 precincts within Maricopa County. The Republican stronghold district was previously represented by conservative Congressman Trent Franks, first elected in 2002.

Republican Debbie Lesko is running to replace him. A well respected pro-life legislative leader who supports President Donald Trump, she has served in both the Arizona House and Senate and was Senate President Pro-Tempore. Lesko has amassed an impressive list of endorsements.

Hiral Tipirneni is a liberal Democrat who has played fast and loose with the truth in campaign ads showing her in scrubs with a stethoscope around her neck, at a patient’s bedside. In fact, she has not practiced medicine since 2007, after a serious medical malpractice charge was brought against her.

“It’s disingenuous,” said Jack Pandol, a spokesman for the National Republican Congressional Committee. “Hiral wants voters to believe she’s something other than who she really is: a former physician sued for malpractice who turned to a cushy job making millions hawking Obamacare instead.”

Philip Wegmann reporter for The Washington Examiner tweets Hiral Tipirneni’s deceit was outed by her Apple Watch, worn in the campaign ad. He writes, “Apple came out with the original watch in 2015.

Tipirneni hasn’t treated a patient since 2007.”

SRAZ is calling the race for Debbie Lesko by at least 10 points.

And the winnah is…..DEBBIE LESKO

With early ballots counted, Republican former state Senator Debbie Lesko has been declared the winner over Democrat challenger Hiral Tipirneni —-  proving baseless smear campaigns don’t resonate with knowledgeable voters.. Early ballots show Lesko carrying 52.9% of the vote to Tipirneni’s 47.1%.

Tipirneni is a typical Democrat in the manner of Hillary Clinton. Truth takes a back seat with both of them.

I hope the West Valley seniors who have steadfastly given their support to Trent Franks will transfer their votes to Debbie Lesko.

…as a medically retired Emergency Department employee I took offense to (dokkter) Tipirneni acting like she was still an E.D. Doc. She needs to crawl back under her cancer research rock & shrivel…

  2. Rambling Rose says:

This is a crucial election. A flip to a lying liberal would be a disaster not only to CD 8, but all of Arizona an the entire United States. I wish Trent Franks had dug in his heels over the foolish accusations. I imagine he wanted to spare his family the exposure, but in my estimation, there are things far worse than what these women rolled out long after the fact. This was a conversation, not aggression.

    • Trevor says:

Paul RINO wanted Franks out he didn’t assault these women like Conyers did.

    • Conservative Since Birth says:

Rose – I’m with you. This is an extremely crucial election. I wish the same about Trent Franks. I think Paul Ryan is the reason he was gone so abruptly. We’ll never know, but CD8 will never be the same. The most I can wish for is that it will stay in GOP hands.

      • Trevor says:

Franks was not my congressman but he is a good statesman and decent human being granted the conversations he had were inappropriate but that should have never forced him out he is no Bill Clinton or Al Franken! I blame Jeff Flake’s partner in crime Paul RINO who like Flake is retiring.

Thanks for the link and”back story.”
Will be watching this race closely. It’s more important than many appear to realize. I wasn’t aware of part of it. Good info. Thanks, SRAZ..

It looks like another screwup from the Secretary of State’s office. These numbers haven’t updated all evening I’ve checked back several times.

  5. Kathy says:

In one little neighborhood in Sun City, between Union Hills and Beardsley. 99th Ave and 97th Ave, there were more Hiral yard signs than Lesko signs. I was surprised, it seems the invasion of leftism is creeping its way into SC do to relocation.

    • GOP PC says:

Throughout the campaign there have been reports of Lesko’s signs being removed. Not only roadway signs, but also yard signs. That could account for what you describe, Kathy.

      • Kathy says:

I certainly hope so. I was surprised because Trump signs were everywhere during the Presidential election. Of course this was a special election, so the comparison isn’t the best.
