Marco Rubio tries a Chuck Schumer con to benefit McSally
This past week, many of us received an email plea from Marco Rubio on behalf of Martha McSally (known alternatively on this site as Sally McCain). She’s running for the U.S. Senate seat effectively vacated by Jeff (the) Flake whose 18% approval rating was so low that he opted out of a reelection bid rather than face an embarrassing loss. Flake has largely ignored his duties as he makes the rounds of liberal media outlets denouncing President Donald Trump. It’s a shameful spectacle, but one to which the marginal Flake is well suited.
With John McCain seriously ill and said to be planning his own funeral — complete with guest list — Arizonans have, for all intents and purposes, been without senate representation for a very long time. Both Flake and McCain still collect taxpayer funded paychecks, but we get nothing in return.
In the email solicitation for McSally, Marco Rubio throws in this deceitful postscript:
P.S. I can’t stress it enough — this race will determine whether or not we’re forced to hand over the Senate Majority to Chuck Schumer and the Democrats. I hope you will join me in supporting Martha McSally for Senate right now!
Marco Rubio either regards Arizona Republicans as fools or suffering from amnesia. In fact, neither is the case. With the long memoried elephant as the GOP symbol, we remember all too well how he and Chuck Schumer were partners in the Flake and McCain constructed Gang of Eight amnesty scheme. It was comprised of four Democrats and four Republicrats.
In April 2013, Senators Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Dick Durbin (D-IL), Michael Bennet (D-CO), Bob Menendez (D-NJ), John McCain (R-AZ), Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Jeff Flake (R-AZ), and Marco Rubio (R-FL) introduced S.744, known as the Gang of Eight immigration bill. Its intent was to grant amnesty to the likely underestimated 12 million illegal aliens in the U.S., dramatically increasing legal immigration, while doing virtually nothing to improve border security or immigration enforcement. It rewarded law-breaking and encouraged more illegal immigration.
Marco adds, “Martha McSally is a workaholic and a leader which is exactly why the Left is pouring all its resources into crushing her campaign. As only a sophomore member, Martha has authored 18 bills and had 2 signed into law — including significant immigration and border security measures.“ References to specifics are cunningly omitted.
Seeing Red AZ supports Dr. Kelli Ward, the viable conservative in this race. Send her a donation. It is imperative we counter the lobbyist cash being funneled to political swindlers who say one thing and then collude with liberals. Televised ads and mailers, necessary to get the conservative message out, are expensive.
FAIR, The Federation For American Immigration Reform, laid out the shocking basics of S. 744 in quiz form. This was the bill supported by Marco Rubio and his then-cohort Chuck Schumer. Know this. Schumer is not Rubio’s adversary. The two men are jovial partners.
