NEA educrats give kneeling Kaepernick civic award

Highest earning AZ taxpayers get shafted by teachers’ union honoring football anthem protester

Upon reflection, what appears at first glance to be a bizarre news item is actually par for the course. The course being the leftist National Education Association (NEA). The teachers’ organization has awarded Colin Kaepernick a human and civil rights award.

Kaepernick, who refused to stand during the pre-game playing of the National Anthem, was given the NEA’s President’s Award in recognition of “his work to fight racial oppression through education and social justice activism” through his ‘Know Your Rights Camp.’

“The human and civil rights champions we honor tonight are the epitome of the fierce urgency of now, that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. spoke about in his ‘I Have a Dream speech,'” opined NEA President Lily Eskelsen García. “Through their deeds and actions, they have demonstrated remarkable courage and conviction to stand up for racial and social justice. They have shown an unrelenting resolve and ferocity to make a real difference for public education, students and our nation’s future. They are shining examples of social justice activism, fighting against injustices every day, and making sure that our great nation lives up to its promise.”‘

Read the NEA tweet here, Then as you remind yourself about the harsh realities of the National Educational Association, remember that these are the people who spend more time with America’s children than most parents do. Propaganda works, as evidenced by the millennium turnout for Socialist presidential candidate Bernie Sanders.

In pressing her leftwing agenda of ferocious separatism, Eskelsen García seems to have forgotten the words of Dr. King that still resound in the speech she alludes to.

“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.”

Kaepernick disrespects the flag and anthem that represent our county and afforded him the opportunity to earn what most of us can only dream about.

And here in Arizona the #RedsforEd teachers who walked out on the state’s over 800,000 public school students for a week, breaking their contractual agreements, have submitted in excess of the 150,642 required petition signatures for #InvestinEd, their Marxist-based class warfare initiative, qualifying for the General Election ballot. The astronomical taxes imposed by the irrevocable Constitutional Amendment would impact those who already pay the highest tax rates and are job creators. But the extortionist educrats, not content with the 20% pay hike Gov. Ducey generously doled out— “without raising taxes” — he claims, still want more.

When the words “getting more money into the classroom,” are uttered by the teachers who work on average 8 1/2 months a year, remember that 60% of the new funds extracted by an in-perpetuity tax, would go toward teacher salaries. That’s In addition to the 20% pay increases gifted to the striking teachers by Ducey.

They should have been fired, as President Reagan did with the striking unionist air traffic controllers. The earth didn’t stop rotating on is axis, supervisors filled in, new controllers were hired, and flights resumed.

This brief video is nearly a decade old, but listen to the words of then-NEA legal counsel Bob Chanin as he admits what is first and foremost on the teacher’s agenda. It’s not the students. (This video link replaces the non-functioning one previously here, most likely removed from YouTube by the NEA.)

That is exactly right – they should have been handled just like Reagan handled PATCO! Lazy, greedy, union BASTARDS. Public so-called “education” is a liberal propaganda SHAM and should be abolished. Only through the competition of private education with parents able to vote with their wallet and force the recruitment of teachers who are capable of earning their pay through their own merit and without the crutch of union thuggery will these shenanigans be halted. When it comes to any funding request for public so-called “education,” no matter what the proposed mechanism, the answer should always be a resounding NO. I will never vote for a public schools tax of any kind as long as I live and I urge thinking fellow voters to do likewise. The sooner the scam of public so-called “education” can be brought to its knees and ideally abolished forever, the better for our children and for America. In education just as much as in so many other things, public has NEVER been better than private and never will.

Unions, in general, are useless money suckers.

Let’s face it, the education system in this country has, as its primary goal, the indoctrination of children. And, as a secondary goal, to teach them to doubt and disobey their family.

    • Braveheart says:

The dumbing down of Americans is the goal of the Left. Our public educational system is devoted to that concept. I see the results within my own family, as its clear the basics of American history have been given short shrift in favor of historical revisionism, painting our Founders in the worst possible light and casting blame on America for injustices and wars. My 6th grade grandson went into detail telling me about how horrible it was that the U.S. bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki. He did not know that the Japanese first torpedoed our ships at Pearl Harbor killing and wounding thousands of young American sailors. In fact, he had never heard of Pearl Harbor. He was unaware that the U.S. dropped leaflets warning the Japanese of the impending retaliation. His skewed information is typical of today’s politically correct misinformation campaign, brought to us by the NEA union and its dues paying members.

A constitutional amendment would be ludicrous and most difficult to overcome.

    • Villanova says:

It would be IMPOSSIBLE to overcome.

That is what we are now experiencing with the farce known as Merit Selection of Judges. It was a constitutional amendment that increased the number of counties forced to participate from the original two (Maricopa and Pima) by virtue of an included population provision that pushed counties into mandated participation based on growth. When a county reaches the magic number of 250,000, it is automatically obligated to participate, taking the decision on judicial selection away from the electorate and giving it over to a political selection committee and ultimately to a political governor.

This scheme was concocted by a liberal State Bar President who later became Chief Justice on the AZ Supreme Court. The Bar now goes to the mat to offer assurances about the wisdom of this usurpation of power from the people.

Pinal County is now in the merit selection mix. Before long Yavapai and Mohave will be added. There will be no recourse.

      • Arizona Conservative Guy says:

I remember the slick merit selection promotional campaign. I’m a long time conservative, and though I don’t recall my vote with absolute certainty (I was a young voter at the time), I probably bought into the liberal scheme passing itself off as an improvement to the status quo. What a mistake!! Janet Napolitano didn’t appoint a Republican to the bench for several years. In her view there were none who were meritorious.

Think of it this way, the people of Arizona were actually induced to go to the polls and vote to give up their right to vote. That’s what we get with an amendment to the Constitution. It’s a done deal. Forever.

Off the subject – What is happening with MCRP Briefs?

    • Seeing Red AZ says:

We hear ‘MCRC Briefs’ has been experiencing some technical problems. The information packed, popular Maricopa County Republican Committee site will be back up as soon as they’re resolved.

  5. Jake sez says:

    That’s MCRC Briefs

  6. Kathy says:

This is why parents are leaving public indroctination schools in droves. School choice must be an option so our children can actaully get an education thru Charter, homeschooling, etc.
In addition why go to college for more indroctination!!! Learn a trade and make $$$$

  7. Retired in Masa says:

We wouldn’t have so many ballot initiatives in this state if the legislature would do their job and listen to the public instead of pursuing a political agenda. If state lawmakers had tackled education funding on their own rather than being forced into it by angry teachers we wouldn’t be looking at a soak-the-rich initiative on the ballot this fall. Thanks, guys.

  8. VINOAZ says:

The enemies of America are the press and the “education” establishment. Public employees should not be able to unionize. As for the phony Kaepernick, why didn’t he approach Obama, Holder, Lynch? This red tax scheme could ruin business in AZ.
