Rodney Glassman is a ‘Class A’ phony who should not be trusted with a seat on the Corporation Commission which sets rates on AZ’s public utilities
Rodney Glassman is determined to tell to Arizona voters he’s the “conservative” running for a seat on the Arizona Corporation Commission. His signs are emblazoned with the word and his auto dialers blithely toss it around as an identifier. But the Democrat who opportunistically switches political parties with the same ease the rest of us change our underwear, has shown himself as a facile master of chicanery, who blithely places expediency above principle.
With chutzpah oozing from every pore, Glassman submitted a commentary to the Scottsdale Independent, in which he grandly announces, “There’s a crisis of integrity at the Arizona Corporation Commission…” That this man, who doesn’t know the meaning of the word, uses it glibly to define others is preposterous.
SRAZ wrote this revealing post about Glassman, March 16, 2018, titled, “Opportunist ex-Dem Glassman now GOP Corp. Com. Candidate.” It includes a link to the stellar expose of Glassman by investigative reporter Linda Bentley writing for the conservative Sonoran News. She exposed Glassman in this June 2017 report: “Recycled Democrat Rodney Glassman running as Republican for ACC.”
Bentley wrote, “Hailing as a progressive Democrat at the time, Glassman was a former legislative aide for U.S. Rep. Raul Grijalva, a far-left Democrat and advocate of open borders with Mexico.” Seeing Red AZ posted about Grijalva settling a $48,395 “severance package” in 2015 with one of his top staffers who threatened a lawsuit claiming he was frequently drunk and created a hostile workplace environment.
Perennial candidate Glassman has previously declared, that if elected, he would model his service after Grijalva, who called for an economic boycott of Arizona in protest of SB1070, which passed in 2010 and required police to determine the immigration status of someone arrested or detained when there is reasonable suspicion they are illegally present in the country. That most hotly contested provision of the law was subsequently upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court.
Adding to the collection of Glassman exposes is this latest one, “Rodney the Ungood,” by Joel Feinman, a Tucson criminal defense attorney who teaches justice studies at the UofA. Feinman’s article appeared in the June 10, edition of the Pima Liberator. Each of the reports are chock full of information about the smarmy Rodney Glassman.
Most shocking is the con he has pulled on elected Republicans— all of whom should know better — yet have endorsed this political opportunist, who has shown himself to be totally devoid of principles.
Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery, a Republican, whose name is now missing from the endorsement list, is inexplicably still listed on filing documents as Glassman’s campaign chairman.
The actual conservative candidate in the race is Jim O’Connor. Check out his website by clicking on his name.
