Politically correct schools are not teaching about this carnage
Today marks the 17th year since 2,973 people were murdered by terrorists who commandeered two commercial airliners and flew them into the World Trade Center Twin Towers in New York City. Another airliner crashed into the Pentagon. The death toll includes 40 passengers and crew members aboard the fourth hijacked plane, United 93, which crashed in a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, as courageous passengers rushed the cockpit.
Along with our American citizens, people from 90 other countries were viciously slaughtered in the attacks committed by Islamo-fascist extremists.
These monsters,* here on easily exploitable foreign student visas, were able to commit this evil against Americans on our own soil because our government deplorably failed to enforce our borders, laws, and national sovereignty. This malfeasance has continued. Only President Trump, who ran and was elected on his commitment to a border wall, has made this issue a resonating theme.
Far-left AZ Democrat David Garcia is currently campaigning for governor on his opposition to both a wall and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), which he has stated his intent to dismantle.
In these times where striking unionist teachers walk out on over 800,000 Arizona students for a week, the obligation falls on parents and grandparents to teach the facts of September 11th. They are not getting this important information in school. It doesn’t fit the left’s ‘celebration of diversity’ playbook and focus on “Islamophobia.”
Yet even left-of-center NPR acknowledges, according to one survey, only about 20 states include anything in depth about the events of that fateful day in their high school social studies curriculum. And when they are taught, it’s often through a narrow lens. Education Week an educrat publication headlines: “Majority of States’ Standards Don’t Mention 9/11.”
The 9/11 Memorial & Museum can be seen here. It’s Teach + Learn pages are critically important since too many young adults today are abysmally lacking basic information about the single deadliest incident in the history of the United States.
Philosopher George Santayana is noted for saying, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” Today’s PC educrats reject his wisdom.
*H/T Creeping Shiria depicts the murderous Muslim extremists, referring to the barbarous hijackers as the “Magnificent 19.”
